How To Make Hungarian Chicken Paprikash
2-3 tbsp olive oil
3-4 tbsp salted butter
9 chicken drumsticks (or chicken pieces)
1 brown onion, finely diced
3 crushed garlic cloves
1/2 tsp black pepper
4 tbsp hungarian paprika
1 can diced tomatoes (400g)
2 cups chicken stock
1 cup sour cream
1/4 cup cream
3 tbsp plain flour
Garnish with fresh parsley - Навчання та стиль
You forgot to add peppers (capsicum that is). 2 bell peppers diced will probably do. Also, don't throw the sour cream mixture in like that, it'll precipitate out leaving unwelcome lumps behind. Temper it first by mixing a little portion of the boiling sauce into it, then pour the whole thing back in. Your sauce looks quite runny for some reason. It might be because you didn't add enough of the sour cream mixture or some other mistake. Hard to tell from here. The right consistency should neatly cover the back of a spoon on contact. I believe you are adding way too much stock up front. Run it low and add more as water boils away.
I'd also add a teaspoon or two of ground caraway seeds and maybe a little more garlic.
On the other hand, great start!
I really don't understand why this channel doesn't get more views. Dude can make some serious chow
very funny,, idiot
@@bashaturk9069 who pissed in your cereal?
Jealous so you can't cook? If you can't say something nice don't talk at all is my advice ! Or text
@@karinspratley8639 huh?
@@karinspratley8639 i agree with you.. those people that cant cook say silly things
Paprikash doesn't typically use tomatoes. You could add a bit of sweet pimento paste though.
Yes, it does. :) Goulash doesn't.
Best food channel on UA-cam!!!
Great videos man you make them simple, explain it perfectly, and not insanely long like most.
"Simple and concise. No rambling or try hard showmanship. Much appreciated" was the comment I left just before reading yours. Short, modest, and to the point. Just getting tired of the unnecessary rambling and over the top behavior of most YTer's.
Simple and concise. No rambling or try hard showmanship. Much appreciated.
I hate doing that! Just like I hated the food bloggers who add their life story to their recipes haha
That can of diced tomatos looks amazing. In the U.S., our diced tomatos are packed in juice. I will need to look around for some imported Italian stuff.
It's good with pasta, potato dumplings, spaetzle, or rice
Now you're talking!!!!
With "nokedli" and some sour gherkin on the side😍
Polenta it also good for...
how about mash potatoes,, ha
@@missuniverce1665 it's good with rice, couscous or anything else really.
This looks great!! Thanks for sharing!!
Wow, this looks so colourful and Delicious 😋
Yumm! Thank you. Happy New Year 🎉
YOU PEOPLE HAVE NO IDEA. DO YOU
Looks amazing, I have to try it 👌
Quite a lot of butter! But I guess that's how it's made. Looks great! It's good to see that your using Gordans onion cutting strategy
Thank you for this. I just followed your tutorial and my first attempt turned out better than the chicken paprikash that I tried at a famous restaurant in Budapest, maybe it's because I used hot paprika and they used sweet paprika. This dish definitely taste better spicy!
So glad to hear!!
@HenrysHowTos what do you use hot or sweet
I really love paprika, so this looks like it's right up my alley! I'll certainly give this recipe a try! Thanks for sharing!
great gear mate fuel for the workers
This was perfect!
Looks good. Be better with some nokedli under the chicken
my guy commenting on to catch a predator. hes an actual king
What do you mean
Henry did you add any salt to this ?
Now a good paprika is needed to do this, which is not easy to find outside Hungary.
But you can still make your own paprika if you want
Get the hungarian paprika in the red tin
I get Szeged paprika from an online Hungarian food retailer here in UK.
Nagyon finom
Just watched this at breakfast time now is it wrong to want it now, great channel keep it up👍
Nice recipe! What kind of knife is that?
Got to try this soon!!! Can I remove the skin from the chicken? My family hates the skin on the chicken :/
shut up
This looks delicious 😋
Thank you 😋
I love paprikash.
hay! Henry! I missed the salt? Did not see you add salt?
Traditionally we add one to two fresh chopped capsicum at the same time as you add the tomatoes.
What's a capsimum?
Peppers or bell pepper
@@aLiLMiSSMe thank you!
Very delicious
just tried it. are you supposed to let the sauce cool off before adding the sourcream mix? lots of clumps! also, gave it a taste test and it tastes bland and kinda bad. is that how its supposed to taste??
You have to use good quality full fat sourcream. Otherwise it will separate and be clumpy
@@NNegativeCreep yeah i used regular sour cream.and it still ended up bad. the taste was pretty bleh
Wooow
This can be a bit bland for my taste--or my taste buds are deadened, but I've been using a jar of salsa rather than tomatoes. I need the extra kick.
lol u just replyed on Hanbys video
great work henry.. just a quick question ,, cab i use chicken wings and pork ribs together to make this
Awww,, its you again
you put the sour cream into early ,you have to wait until it cools a little so it doesn’t curdle and you forgot the peppers and carrots
Carrots in paprikash???
Never heard of it
HNY!
looks fuckin delicious henry
Do you serve over rice?
Yes
What kind of paprika did you used?Hot or sweet?
This recipe calls of Hungarian sweet paprika ☺️
@@HenrysHowTos Thanks! I'll give it a try...looks delicios
@@HenrysHowTos is it smoked paprika, or not? Thanks
@@PVflying I used regular paprika, smoked will definitely work too
This without the tomatoes
Nice but u forgot to add salt
Paprikas! but you've added 1 can of tomato!? thickened cream, no noodles!?
Anything goes downunder these days
Damn no salt at all?
The butter is salted
Oil and butter? Right off the bat you're swapping out stuff. Any Hungarian grandma worth her salt, will tell you that it has to be lard.
And quite a bunch of others will tell you it has to be duck fat and they'd be right. You can call the oil-version light or lazy or whatever. Still works okay.
THIS CHICKEN WOULD TASTE LIKE BOILED CHICKEN.. YUCK
