I love how dancey Juran is because that's just a reference to one of the other dinosaur sentai, Kyoryuger who danced to transform, had 4 versions of their ending theme with accompanying dances, and even had a movie about the music inside of them.
Prediction: Since Kaito's parents discovered parallel worlds, developed the Sentai Gears and went missing, I suspect they visited Kikaitopia and were captured by Tojitendo who put their discovery to use in trapping the other worlds. With this in mind, Kaito's parents are probably responsible for the incident which caused a part of Kikaitopia to merge with their home dimension, preventing it from being trapped.
"parents caused the monsters" reminds me of Gobusters and KR drive. We will see a lot of sentai tropes pop up all over the season and I think it'll be fun to watch them appear for those who've watched multiple seasons.
I feel like making Kaito's motivation to "befriend all the Kikanoids" would have been a bit TOO on-the-nose and one note. The "I want to be the first" kind of works because it shows that Kaito is the kind of person to actively seek out new experiences. He embraces the unknown rather than fearing it, and that's reflected perfectly in how he engages with the Kikanoids. His parents being scientists who made this groundbreaking discovery about parallel worlds probably played a part as well; they did this huge thing that no one's ever done before, and Kaito wants to follow in their footsteps by doing something equally new and amazing.
The intro and villains gave me major RPM vibes. The fact that it's a robot villain who's stuck in a wall and who's basically already won, massive RPM vibes
i think theres also a regulation where only 10 people without masks can be on a set at once but you can have 30 masked so this could be a way to bypass that somewhat
That's what I was thinking of. Between the kikanoid background characters and the creative use of green screen I was really impressed with how creatively they adapted to the quarantine measures. It is a shame that Kamen Rider Saber wasn't able to handle things this easily.
I heard you're gonna watch Magiranger. God I love that show, a really nostalgic season from my childhood. Biggest themes of that season is courage and family. I hope you look forward to it! (other than because of your Magine fetish)
I really liked the choices of which worlds we saw sealed in the gears because they all have a special meaning in the franchise Gorenger: the first ever Sentai (which ties into Zenkaiser’s I want to be first thing), Zyuranger: the first sentai to be adapted, and Kiramager: the team we just said goodbye.
Finally some positive review for the new season. I like how they went all over for the anniversary season. They brought back the Goranger - Goggle V composer for the opening and some of the background music and it feel s nostalgic, According to Shirakawa Producer they are filming with film for the season. Hoping the anniversary season keeps up with the feeling from episode 1.
I am very cautiously optimistic. It definitely has a lot of style and all of the Kikanoid stuff regarding how humans are scared of them and the rich vs poor is really interesting. I hope they can pull it off well. I can't wait for the team to be assembled.
In terms of the character introduction, it reminds me of Den-O. We see Momo in a few episodes, then Ura, then Kin, then Ryu. I think Zenakiger will do something similar to that. Smart move of the writers.
Really good first episode, the characters were all really likable, the plot is interesting, magine is adorable, and the suits and action are all awesome I can't wait for Gaon's debut
I think I know what the parents are doing, they are running a cafe where the staff dresses up in cosplay. (A reference to the actress who plays the mom who was also in Kamen Rider OOO).
The mom is running the cosplay cafe with a super strong girl and an ex-homeless guy who fights monsters made of medals with an arm and the dad is in another world fighting worms as a Kamen Rider (the dad played Kamen Rider Kabuto.)

I liked Kaito's characterization. He wants to be the first to form lasting relationships with the Kikanoids. The bad guys pretty much screw this up and him recruiting zyuran so abruptly is him renewing his desire because of what his parents told him.
It was fantastic...I haven't seen a Sentai premiere that has done such a good job at establishing stakes in a long time. I can't wait to see next week's episode and see where this goes. I haven't been this excited for a new Sentai since ToQger!
wow i remember the last time i stumble in this channel you were just a drawing and now youre a high detailed toy. he looks like kr mach, i know the design is kinda base of akaranger it kinda give me a den-o vibe where one protag with his multiple imagin. well im not really a modern sentai fan but im interested on watching this, been a while ever since shinkenger.

I really liked it! it's a bit too fast paced for my taste but I'm glad it was only done so to establish the setting and that we are being introduced to the sentai members one at a time so we get to know each member well. I specially liked jyuran, I know the comparison has been made but it really reminds me of kamen rider den-o, not only because of the non-human sentai members but because just like any of the imagin, Jyuran seems to be pretty grounded character with his own convictions, quirks and attitude, like his kinds yet altruistic nature, I like how it took him an insant to accept Kaito's offer to grab the blaster, like he has sorting through his feelings first, wich varies greatly from most other sentai team members who are generally pretty one note in comparison. But this is the first episode so maybe things will change and after a dozen of episodes he will just blend in with the rest of the team as it often happens, I hope this show proves me wrong. Kaito though... he is, serviceable I guess, but god is he generic and one note. He may as well have been created with a "sentai red-ranger inator", it's all there, the annoying catchphrase, the reckless "go get em" attitude, the permanent grin with cheery demeanor, and of course he is a goody two-shoes with a strong sense of justice, at least he is not Lucky (kyuranger) I guess. Maybe I've grown too old to be watching a "kid's show" but I just wish we could get another captain marvelous or maybe a Sento from kamen rider build, both of them characters with a strong sense of justice while still being their own persons first and foremost.

This premiere episode I feel IS THE EPISODE YOU GOTTA CHECK OUT! It's got everything you need from main character motivations, a little backstory as well as what hints we have about Kikaitopia is thanks to Juran and Gaon (Next episode preview) as well as why the Kikainoids escaped to the Earth in the first place and the consequences of the villains' actions that affects others in the process. It is REALLY well done imo. 2:36,my guess is that the good Kikainoids are slaves while the Tojitendos are the rulers that made Kikaitopia a shit show that even Juran and Gaon in the next episode stated their dislike towards their homeworld. I don't think the Kikainoids are wanting to say anything of where they came from during that 1 month time skip and you gotta feel bad for them. I would too. This is really deep for something that was only touched upon in certain eps of Sentai but to see a WHOLE plot of it happen like this, this is intriguing. (Correct me if I'm wrong but there might be some Sentai that did that.) 2:40,glad we agree this plot point is kick ass! 3:28,THIS IS what I wanted to see in Zyuohger more. the way i interpret the "alternate universe sentai team thing" is the main bad guys are actually taking the teams out of time, not alternate universes. that has an effect on the time line making it so in the present day no one has really heard of Sentai teams before.
I always wonder in sentai when they have the zord battles and they attach buildings, are people in there or not? If so do they not take that into consideration?
Yes, I'm subscribed because of MAGINE! tbh, I thought this new season of sentai will be more gimmicky. But we'll see how this will play out... I already had been immersed to the use of other sentai powers with Gokaiger/SuperMega though...

It's a solid start. Pro: - Good design. They put a lot of work on that and I appreciate that. - Sound design and music were pretty good. - Really like the energetic vibe going on on this one. - The effect and CGI are pretty good. However, the cons: - The story / prologue was a bit confusing, plot hole you could say. It suddenly jumped into this kind of plot without much of an explanation. It's even worse that in the show, no one really bother to question further to why is this happening. I think they were under the presumption that we were already watched the movie beforehand. - The fight/action choreography was a bit lacking. Granted, it might have to do with the other team members being a mecha themselves that are used to play/fight the giant monster but now have to juggle between fighting minions in the city then fighting giant monster in the miniature city, not to mention, this is the first episode, so I expected them to improve much more. Anyway, I do find this very charming and I am looking forward the prospect of this season.

Eh, I'm not exactly a fan of Zenkaiser based off of episode 1, but maybe he'll grow on me like Juuru did. I do kind of wonder how exactly the anniversary aspects of the show will work out. Another thing, I do kind of wonder why the 4 main Kikainoid look so different from the rest of the Kikainoids. Like, did they originally look like that or did they look like the other Kikainoids before something altered their appearance later on before the merger?
Whew, one of the villain reminds me of a villain in Go-Onger. And the protagonist is more like a kamen rider, perhaps the closest one is Kamen Rider Mach. (Note: I made this comment at around 2:41 of the clip so I am not sure if the creator will state these observations at the latter part.)

Innocent guys who are framed for looking like enemies which really shoulda happened more to the Beastman when the Deathgaliens attack which makes the villains more engaged to make the misery between humans' contempt for anything different and Beastman's fear of humans into a game. I'm really glad to see this being realized in a new kicking Sentai so better late than never,Junko Komura.
5:28,tho I wanna know how they managed to create weapons based on existing Sentai. Who are keeping them captive since they gone missing and "Not Dead" or if they are dead,I'm curious as to how they managed to do this.

the way i interpret the "alternate universe sentai team thing" is the main bad guys are actually taking the teams out of time, not alternate universes. that has an effect on the time line making it so in the present day no one has really heard of Sentai teams before.
The way i see it is that teams that has theme base around space,time,magic and dimension are in seperate universe while others stay in one universe

Im just gonna say... the mushroom came out of nowhere
It's a solid start.
Pro:
- Good design. They put a lot of work on that and I appreciate that.
- Sound design and music were pretty good.
- Really like the energetic vibe going on on this one.
- The effect and CGI are pretty good.
However, the cons:
- The story / prologue was a bit confusing, plot hole you could say. It suddenly jumped into this kind of plot without much of an explanation. It's even worse that in the show, no one really bother to question further to why is this happening. I think they were under the presumption that we were already watched the movie beforehand.
- The fight/action choreography was a bit lacking. Granted, it might have to do with the other team members being a mecha themselves that are used to play/fight the giant monster but now have to juggle between fighting minions in the city then fighting giant monster in the miniature city, not to mention, this is the first episode, so I expected them to improve much more.
Anyway, I do find this very charming and I am looking forward the prospect of this season.
The movie wouldn’t explain much either because it takes place after later episodes

Eh, I'm not exactly a fan of Zenkaiser based off of episode 1, but maybe he'll grow on me like Juuru did. I do kind of wonder how exactly the anniversary aspects of the show will work out. Another thing, I do kind of wonder why the 4 main Kikainoid look so different from the rest of the Kikainoids. Like, did they originally look like that or did they look like the other Kikainoids before something altered their appearance later on before the merger?
Whew, one of the villain reminds me of a villain in Go-Onger. And the protagonist is more like a kamen rider, perhaps the closest one is Kamen Rider Mach.
(Note: I made this comment at around 2:41 of the clip so I am not sure if the creator will state these observations at the latter part.)
