Hand of Doom/21st Century Schizoid Man - Black Sabbath/King Crimson - (Cover by Discovery)

I remember reading that Geezer Butler (and Black Sabbath as a whole) wanted to write about things that no-one else was writing about. Other bands were still stuck in the 'Summer of Love', and Sabbath wanted to show that this was not an accurate representation of the world - especially in the midst of the Vietnam War.
The same goes for King Crimson - they wanted to be unlike anything anyone had ever heard before. Crimson lyricist Peter Sinfield said he wanted to terrify people with the lyrics of "21st Century Schizoid Man". I'd like to think both bands succeeded.
