Those are New York Flying Flights. Flights for short. There are a couple other breeds with the same beak features but it is pretty unique among pigeons from what I've seen. You see it also in Magpies and Danish tumblers.
This might sounds strange, but no breeding can have something to do with the dogs being around. They look innocent until you turn around and then they chase birds and cause mischief. My finches also did not breed one year because I had moved into an area which had predator birds which were a constant source of stress for my finches. The dogs, I imagine, are causing lots of stress, even if it doesn't seem so. The birds will not breed with predators flying around, or with dogs walking around.
Thanks man! New videos are coming. I have a list I want to do but have been lazy. It's been on my mind so, soon. Daily vlogs? I didn't think I vlogged at all.
Its similar to vlogs! :) and no problem. I really enjoy yr content. Im trying to get into pigeons again, but racing pigeons this time. never had racers so its going to be exciting. But yeah i wouldnt mind seeing vlogs maybe not daily but 2 vlogs a week or something :)
do you still keep tipplers? also, so you prefer a kit vs a loft for flying. what works for better for Because sometimes it is hard to grab in a kit box vs a loft.
I still have a few tipplers. I love kitboxes. I only like to keep a small number of flying birds so it makes sense for me. You mean it's harder to grab in a loft right? No problem in a kb. No net required.
My brother got them from 3 people. One was a Long island native who retired out here. The other was a girl who got birds from Long Island. The 3rd was two people (one shipment or 3 birds) direct from Long Island. We've sent them to Cal, Florida, NJ/NY, & Virginia I think. Maybe more. They are not a rare pigeon but not exactly common either. I checked 'Mumtaztic's Breeders list' and see none in TN. I'd keep on eye on this link www.pigeons.biz/forums/f8/ and more importantly the NY groups on Facebook. facebook.com/groups/620900254683158/ General Pigeon buy and sell: facebook.com/groups/584595584915269/ Nice avatar BTW! =]
