How would you add a badge reel to this? Is that possible?

If you added a keyring like Rose used in the video (or some other type of large ring) you can clip the reel directly to that. Most reels have some sort of clip that can work with the keyring. If you want to be able to attach it to a much smaller loop or ring, you could also add a snap hook to the reel: www.firemountaingems.com/itemdetails/h20b3783fn

Is your lanyard made with neam wire? Or a wax rope?

What size wire do you recommend?

You can use almost any size of beading wire depending on the bead hole size. A lot of beads will have a hole size of 0.5mm-1.5mm, so you could start with a size 0.018 or smaller and that should fit most beads!
