Great video! I am 76 and just got back into golf after 25 years. I have taken lessons (from a PGA pro who didn't know how to change his teaching techniques for senior players) which resulted in me putting strain on my lower back and shoulders. I was smart enough to recognize the issues, so I searched on you tube for instruction that was geared around senior golfers. I found it at the site Easiest Swing. They espouse many of the concepts that Peter talks about so I want to thank you Peter for validating their teaching concepts. I truly look forward to watching you and Gary on this site! The reason golf viewership is down at the major network is because you and Gary are no longer on the air!
15:35 the feet together drill has been a revelation for me recently. Helps alleviate all of my major faults. The sound of those balls clipping off the face in the early bits of the video is what we should all be aiming for!
After the thousands of dollars I spent on in-person golf lessons with zero improvement, I have found UA-cam golf instruction to be much more beneficial. I will never visit a golf pro ever again.
Your visits to past professionals has allowed you to understand what is good and bad in your mind for a swing you like whether good or fundamentally poor.
Peter, I so enjoyed your and Gary’s commentary on CBS for all those years. I do sorely miss them. I still miss Ken Venturi. As h and you both always provided insightful commentary. I’m almost 75 and play regularly although I’ve slowed down a bit as I walk all my rounds and now play pickleball. Hard to walk 18 too. I’ve played for almost 60 years…self taught…and retired this year as a 10.3 index. You’re absolutely correct about UA-cam instruction. It can be a sinkhole. I have gained a few nuggets on recentering for full swing and putting from a few instructors. Your comment on swinging the arms was the first time I’ve ever heard explained quite that way. At least for me a light bulb went off! I played today in Northen Virginia in 35 degree weather just to work on it! Thanks again and look forward to next installment. Larry
Absolutely key - used to be a single digit, drifted up with age, then started looking for more "keys" and things only got worse. Just a few minutes on Peter's three levers and things started clicking again. Amazing how easily I lost track of these fundamentals and how quickly they can be found again. Grip, ball position, alignment and three levers. Rotation, swing plane, balance and everything else come AFTER these fundamentals. THANK YOU!
Thank you coach, you’re confirming, mine anda lot of others, opinion about most of the UA-cam golf instructors, in it for the money. Been watching you and Gary’s videos, enjoying, thanks for the laughs.
Im in my mid 70,s and this lesson made more sense to me than any other advice i have been given. Thanks mate the swing, after 60 years of playing, now makes sense. May i ask why flex shafts you use.
fantastic educaion on the progression of the golf swing. I love your school analogy, it is quite appropriate. this reminds me of Tiger saying that we, amateurs, should stop watching YT, go get proper lessons, practice and play. This is improve your game, not YT. Cheers.
If you go to 5o teaching pros in person things could get confusing. UA-cam is no different. And just like teaching pros in person some could be the wrong teacher for you. That being said there is a great flow of ideas happening on you tube. People can enjoy different ideas but at the end of the day need to find the right teacher for them and stick with it. Peter no doubt is a great person to learn from in person as he taught pga tour players. And now he is becoming great on UA-cam. While the days of covering the pga tour are gone, watching them be so informative and funny, The sky is still the limit for them. This show should be on tv. It would have a lot of viewers.
Hi Peter love the show would you be able to give your insight of the best instructional books that you believe are good for a beginner. Also, I have your book and it is wonderful. Thank you so much. It’s helped me tremendously.❤
Ironic how a UA-cam video is telling us to be cautious of UA-cam videos, ha ha. Love Peter, he’s even given good tips on his UA-cam. Yes, I’ve been studying golf for 50 years, so I am ready for advanced ideas. But he is correct, most suggestions are not for the common golfer.
@ wow! Nice to know you connect with those who are interested in your ideas and experience. I wish you many more years of golfing excellence. I do miss you two on air.
As bad as you UA-cam lessons are, I would say a 'range coach' is worse. What is their motive? Usually, it is to get you to sign up for a twenty-session package on how to hit a 7 iron, only to get you to pay for more on the next sessions on the other club. It is the same as a chiropractor that I used to see. I love UA-cam golf. It has helped me immeasurably (BTW... This video is UA-cam golf)
Sure they can be benificial, but like Hogan said, your swing is out there in the dirt, YOU have to go out and find it. P.S. Love you guys You both are forever missed at cbs
Peter, What about this one? Best Video Ever for MOST Golfers - Accurate example, How to feel it, how to do it, drills and something every old golfer losing distance needs and is not doing and 100% of Tour Pro's do this. Checks all the boxes. What is your take on this specific example. ua-cam.com/video/WWDOy06CkYo/v-deo.htmlsi=NTRwq3_UBB85uUyr
You should check out this instructor named Shade Tree Pro we closely followed him playing at his home course and he did not break a hundred absolutely most ridiculous advice as well as player we have ever seen😂😂😂

Best UA-cam golf advice ever.
Excellent instructions, Peter. This is exactly how my older brother taught me to play golf 19 years ago. Start small.

Peter, I miss your swing vision analysis always insightful..
Looks like your teaching Float Load at the 8min mark which was my Float Load video example.
Awesome video!
Excellent video
Great advice.

Can’t find the whole segment of Gary and Peter discussing their top course on inside golf. Please advise.
Thanks Peter! One quick question -- do you recommend lifting your left heel on all your full swing shots -- irons as well as woods? Tom in Dallas
