    This video brought back so many memories! My grandmother had this same machine in white, and I spent hours as a youngster watching it operate. My favorite was to watch the mini-basket loads. Thanks for uploading!

    Wow I can't believe that 54 years later and this machine is still running strong!!! That's why I always liked the GE filter flo washers they were built like Sherman Tanks and performed very well... they were one of the greatest workhorses of its time back then!!! Thanks for the video Gso and have a good night!!!

      A friend of mine moved around the corner from me and inside their place is an older GE Filter flo from I'm guessing the 80s.
      Still running. Funny because the Extras Large tub in it looks small now. I remember these machines when they were still being made.
      Have a new appreciation for GE washers as I had forgotten how well built it is especially to the tin foil made machines today that are so prevalent.

    • @patcola7335
      @patcola7335 3 роки тому +2

      @@maryrobert80 True. Even if the DD washers were still being made like my Kenmore 90 series from 2003 I wouldn't have gotten a Speed Queen either. I liked the Speed Queen when I had it but the Kenmores had so many more options and overall were much more versatile washers.

    • @maryrobert80
      @maryrobert80 3 роки тому +1

      @@patcola7335 Yes they were Pat... I had a 90 series too, and I always use to say this machine is a real workhorse!!! It handled some pretty heavy loads at times and never gave me a minute's worth of trouble except for an occasional off balance load once in a while!!!

    • @patcola7335
      @patcola7335 3 роки тому +2

      @@maryrobert80 That was a little bit of a drawback as the suspensions were kind of weak in the DD machines.
      What the Speed Queen had going for it was the excellent suspension system.
      The only other machines I can remember that were as good with balanced spins was an early-mid 70s Westinghouse top loader (before they were gobbled by WCI) and the 70s Norge we had . The Norge would slow down and compensate for the unbalanced loads.

    a friend says, modern machines are dirt redepositing systems. they remove dirt then they put it back on clothes. I think the filter flo design where debris is actually filtered out, should be a must on washing machines. why in the world they discontinued the design where dirt is being filtered out of the wash?
    When will they start making those again. I have bought an old I am planning to fix it and put it to use. I hope the parts are still available ?
