This is one seriously well thought out backpack. Originally thought it was perhaps a Peak Design knockoff, but I actually think it surpasses it in usability and versatility, especially for those that are not strictly photographers. It seems also to be comparatively priced, which is to say equally overpriced.. lol..
This was a really helpful video to find. I've just got a Mous backpack ahead of starting my new job that involves a lot of tech and travel - wanted something smart, versatile, that would offer protection, and can't deny Moss's marketing has gotten to me. But receiving it, I genuinely couldn't find half of the pockets, and was thinking, is it protecting stuff so much that you have to put everything on the inside, under that big lid!!?? No, as it turns out. So after watching this, I feel more informed about my purchase, and have seen some more comparisons than I was aware of before, that make me feel confident in this purchase. It's so well made, I think the most rugged backpack I've ever owned, with only the exception of my 90L Osprey hiking pack; but that's a complete different use case to this, and Osprey's efforts to make consumer/commuter stuff, just aren't smart enough for my aesthetic. Thanks for making some great content.
Great review as always, Danny! Not my cup of tea, but it's always fun to see new backpacks. I do agree with that lid thing, it seems a bit overkill considering there's zippers underneath. I prefer the zippers to a cinch opening though.
Hi Danny, Nice one! This looks like a nicer version of the Nomadic Travel bag with good compartments. I really love the Heimplanet Travel line 34l v2. Do you think they will do a v3 this year?
Thank you for watching! I am a fan of the heimplanet as well, really awesome bags, not sure if there is a v3 planned for this year but I would be excited to see what updates they make!:)
Thank you for watching and I’m glad the video was helpful! Definitely a tough choice between the two! In general I still prefer the aesthetic, size and layout on the city pack pro, but this one feels a little more rugged and weather resistant
Thanks for the thorough review! I'm considering this among other options for a professional backpack that I can wear to the office. What's your recommendation?
Thank you for watching and I’m glad the video was helpful! Definitely a solid option for the office, if you were looking for other options to consider I think the aer city pack pro and tbe bellroy transit Workpack are really great options to look at, also maybe the modern dayfarer backpack
thank you for another great detailed review! looking for a one pack that can serve as an EDC while sometimes caring some gear (laptop, tablet, drone, camera...) minimal traveling and the occasional hike while I'm traveling.. my top 2 contenders are Aer travel pack 3 and Able carry max. be happy to hear you take on that.. and if you have any other suggestions tnx
Thank you for watching! The aer and able carry are both really solid options, I prefer the travel pack 3 small for edc and minimal travel and the larger travel pack for longer trips and I like the size of the travel pack small a little more than the able carry. The able carry is really good and might be better if you prefer a simpler layout. Some other options that might be worth considering are the goruck gr2 26l, Patagonia mini MLC, evergoods cpl24 or 28 or maybe even something like the knack pack or nomatic travel pack
Hi Danny. Great and only review of this backpack! I'm just having a little concern about this bag's material on the sides and bottom. It doesn't seem to be using waterproof material as at the front. Will it be safe in a very heavy rain?
Having just got mine, and being used to the weather in Scotland, can honestly say that I've never owned a backpack that feels as water resistant as this one does. The tests Mous have done look pretty convincing in the marketing. Of course, they are probably aiming the power spray at the most waterproof surfaces, which will be the same surfaces most exposed (top and back) when wearing and walking with this thing. If you'd be outside for an extended period, common sense would suggest, having a rain cover as well. But, from where I stand, I feel very confident about this thing. Hope the thoughts are helpful.
@@dannypacks you need to make a video of the 18L backpack. Even though that's huge as well, I still want a side by side comparison between that and the 25L
I got mine today in the UK, so hopefully you have got yours too. Thank you Danny for the excellent review, which I used as a 'how to' since I had already bought the backpack. You explained features that I didn't realise the backpack had, so thank you.
Hey Danny, I'm after a bit of advice please. I have 2 laptops for my business, a 15.6" laptop, and a Chromebook 4, which is 11.6", will this pack be able to hold both? What other backpacks do you recommend taking a look at? Many thanks!
Did I miss the part about the admin pocket? It seems like there isn't one. Would be so handy for pen/stylus and smaller quick-grab items. That's probably the only thing stopping me from purchasing this bag.
Thank you for watching! Unfortunately the bag doesn’t have a dedicated admin area although it does have some of those types of pockets incorporated into the main compartment and laptop area
Thank you for watching! Although this is great, I would go with the modern dayfarer as I prefer the simpler layout, shoe compartment and the fact that the volume on the dayfarer is adjustable
Thank you for watching and definitely some similarities between the two! I’m hoping to be able to review the v2 in the next few months, compared to the v1 it is a little bulkier / heavier and has more pocketing and weather resistance so if you need the additional protection and don’t mind the weight it’s a great alternative and the dayfarer will be a better option if you are looking for something a little simpler and sleek that also has a separate shoe compartment for gym use
Dude it’s really confusing when you’re talking about other bags at the end but holding and moving your hands around on the mous bag. Why not hold the bag you’re actually talking about? Also I was hoping to find links to the alternative bags mentioned but nothing in the description?!
It’s missing a good admin section to me, and is the main reason I’m passing on this one. Also don’t like that tiny side pocket in place of a 2nd water bottle pouch. So close Mous…
With the pack itself at £200+, containing probably an extra £3000 worth of Danny's (or any user's) tech and assorted gear, sadly it's a bag that screams, "MUG ME!!!" That said, really comprehensive review and thanks for providing comparisons/other options. Good work Danny.
Thank you for watching and for the support! And fair point on the appearance it’s sleek design could make it seem like there’s lots of valuables inside 😅
A good point. But there's so many conventional 'designer' bags out there too. I was looking at House of Fraser and John Lewis stuff before settling on Mous. You're paying more for so many designer brands, than this, and the features, versatility, that they offer, is pants. Wear anything nice and you could be perceived as a mugging target. At least with this thing, your stuff won't get smashed up if you have to do a runner or it gets dropped somehow. Swings and roundabouts.
Yeah, but that's the genral issue with many modern backpacks and living or working in big cities: they're getting more and more expensive and people are buying them and every little mugger knows those popular brands. In my case e.g. I just use good but ordinary backpacks like MilTec Cooperpacks or North Face Jester etc. They have a laptop compartment too, are very sturdy and nobody guesses you could have equipment in it worth hundreds or thousands. They think you have your smelly sport socks or your school books in it and nobody want's to steal that 😅😅
@Danny Packs no worries mate, you're very welcome. I've become a rather big fan of Mous since I bought one of their Clarity cases for my S22 Ultra around a year ago. And as it saved the day a couple of times over these past 12 months I bought another Clarity for my S23 Ultra when I upgraded last week. Quality sturdy gear 👍🏻

Thank you for watching! Definitely an investment but lots of cool features for the price!
Mous is supposed to be pronounced as mouse, not moose
Thank you for watching and for the clarification!:)
God damn did i laugh when he said that😂
Jerry the mouse intensifies 😂
Dang this bag actually looks really cool and doesnt look too big
Thank you for watching! Definitely a cool bag overall!:)
Thanks for your video, I think you’re the only UA-camr who has done a full review for this bag 👍🏻
Thank you for watching and I’m glad the video was helpful!:)
I picked this up largely based on this video. I'm quite pleased with it. Thanks
Thank you for watching and glad the bag is working out well so far!:)

Same. Not a fan of the looks

I agree with you, that top rounded flap is kind of a weird look for me and I think the bag would look better if it wasn't even there. Great video!
Thank you for watching and I’m glad the video was helpful!
You've been using quite a few flashlights "as of late"....
You're a camping person! Nice!
thank you for watching! I definitely have developed a bit of a flashlight obsession :)
Have you look at the Mous (pronounced mouse) tech pouch?
Thank you for watching! I haven’t had a chance to check that one out, but it looks like a pretty solid option!
Thank you so much!! Been waiting for ages for a review on this bag. Torn between this and the Aer city pack pro (😔 sigh)
Thank you for watching and I’m glad the video was helpful! Definitely a tough choice between the two! In general I still prefer the aesthetic, size and layout on the city pack pro, but this one feels a little more rugged and weather resistant
@@dannypacks thanks!
Kind of want to replace my tnf kaban 2 with this and I just got it along with the tnf fuse box

Thanks for the review. Are the strap anchors and G hooks made of plastic or metal?
Metal and light, with a covering.

I don't need this but I want it. Shame they don't have a small and more compact version. Even the 18L is huge
Thank you for watching! I agree a slimmer or less rigid option with the other features of the bag would be cool
@@dannypacks you need to make a video of the 18L backpack. Even though that's huge as well, I still want a side by side comparison between that and the 25L
Such a bummer that it's not available in Europe... yet. But when it does, I'm certainly buying one! :))
Thank you for watching and hope they start shipping there soon!

Hi Danny, what packable rain jacket is that???
Thank you for watching! It’s from a company called 33000 ft, I added a link to the description of you want to check it out :)
Nice review! And folks- it’s pronounced “mouse” like the rodent.
Thank you for watching and for the clarification! I’m glad the video was helpful :)
Will my 17.3 Helios predictor fit is the question?

A lot of other factors go into whether you're a viable target for a mugging.

Damn it's heavy, 1.8kg for a 25 liters. Also no proper top handle, and that fidlock makes no sense.
Thank you for watching and definitely some good points!
The company’s name is pronounced like the little animal - mouse. I’m not sure why

I’m guessing it’s entirely made in China.
Awfully similar to Peak Design.
Would love a review of the STM Dux 30l backpack.
Can't find a review online of this bag. It's another interesting tech bag.
Thank you for watching and for the suggestion! I’ll have to see if there are any available for me to test out!
