When Amad and Sancho were close together the other team couldn't get the ball, if you add Mainoo to the mix, good luck trying to get the ball.
One thing you should mention is that we conceded those two goals out of lapse of concentration just like in the Arsenal game.
The coaching system needs to work a lot on levels of concentration when we do not have the ball.
I am happy however we have dropped the habit of mispasses

Its very simple most of this players like Maguire lindelof AwB Erickson Mctominay and case not intelligent enough to or athletic enough to play this system. The plan there from the coaching team but you cant teach an old dog new tricks.
What really stood out in this game was how many runs our attacks and midfielders were making in behind. Anytime our CDM or CB's has the ball, you could see players attacking the space behind. Doing this consistently as a team completely changes the dynamic of the game. Hoping to see this more in our next games

The benefit of 3-1-6 shape
The 3-1-6 shape is nonsensical. Weak rest-defense and an overloaded final third.
Now I’m not saying the overload is not good. But, you’re taking a player away from necessary build-up and clogging up the final phase. That’s why we struggle to transition between the three phases, because the instruction is to ignore the second phase of play.
We better find a younger DM because Casemiro will continue to struggle in this shape in the premier league.
@@alusinekoroma7090 I agree that playing that way with Evans, Maguire and Casemiro at the base is never going to work but when if you have De Ligt, Martinez and Yoro then suddenly playing that way is possible because you can play higher and pin the opposition. This is why Ten hag said he can't play the way he wants with both Varane and Martinez out and its why United are rebuild the defense

I always take preseason games against Spanish sides with a pinch of salt because they typically start their preseasons later than English teams and are a week or two behind in fitness. That said, I was still impressed with the performance.
Volume a bit better but still below most of the other videos I watch. Does Maguire practice voodoo so the better players get injured while he shows how to run into your own net and give a player in the 6 yard box a tap in ?

Defensively United actually often dropped into a compact 442 shape which was new to see, was very interesting

@@danielca3 The last season one was deeper and conciliatory in possession and primed for counter attack, this new one looks more like a mid block that quickly presses and moves up the field as one
The mid-block is the best idea. Retains energy and frustrates the opposition. Arsenal and Man City use a mid-block often and rely on pressing triggers and winning the ball in the middle third of the field.
I’d be very happy if we used the mid-block going forward. Non of the headless pressing man 😅
Betis were a bunch of thugs, pathetic. So happy we came through the pressure the way we did, and without any serious injuries. Rashy and Amad took so many nibbles i was getting anxious

Only problem is the players being trained on this new tactics and structure are not the first team. The first team still on break and would resume to play rubbish when the league starts.

Amad and Sancho fits the football we will be playing moving forward and I’m sure Dan Ashworth told Ten Hag to make up with Sancho and start playing Amad because he is directing how the football should be played along with the players needed to fit the system. Bruno doesn’t fit posession based ball and needs to be sold, he will come and fuk it all up.
The 3-1-6 shape has its benefits buts it’s so weak in defense. The 3-2-5 system will not only be more secure, but it would also make me feel at ease 😅.
Unnecessary number of players against the defensive line is risky, especially when you are not chasing the game. I’d prefer TenHag move from this shape.

@@shounak4047 ballplaying defenders would not be enough to save us against counterattacks. You need numbers in defense. That’s why coaches like pep, arguably the best to ever do it, plays 5 men in rest defense. Also, what happened to needing the midfield to progress play?

playing from the back ruined with yoro injury and has set us back. you cant do it with maguire and lindelof. this is why we really need a ball playing cb before season starts
