I am an actor and content creator with Hollywood credits including roles on Lucifer (Netflix), Starlight Christmas (Hallmark), JT Leroy (Universal Studios), etc. In this channel, I offer insight to Kpop performances using my 10+ years of training in dance, acting, singing and overall performance. In dance, my forte are contemporary and musicals and have done most of my performances in theatre. Although my channel is mostly known for dance analysis, I am currently inactive in the dance community.

Ningning’s dance skills are very underrated tbh, imagine being the main vocalist and can still dance so well!

karina's footworks is insane, just like in got the beat 'step back', i think it has something to do with her strength too, she's good at physical excercise
aespa is really underrated in terms of dancing but they're pretty good not bad as people claim them to be

Thank you for recognizing Giselle's dance moves. Because this past few months and weeks Giselle is the target of hate because of her Dance moves being lazy and being messy. But in this review of a "Dancer" and "Choreographer" I'm happy that you appreciate Giselle moves 😭❤️

Ningning could really easily secure a dance position. She's really a great dancer.
Even dancer like he is can appreciate Giselle moves unlike those imbeciles so called critics out there who doesn’t even have background in professional dancing yet as if they know every dance genre they’re talking about. Giselle long legs and arms is her advantage when she’s dancing and only few who notice how graceful she is because for obvious reason Aespa choreo is not in her favor as a beginner specially she didn’t experience variety of dance lesson like the other 3 who also honed their skills for years unlike her.
Karina and Ningning are definitely my favorite performers in the group. They're both very engaging, Karina is obviously a great dancer and Ningning may not be as good technically as Karina and Winter, but she really understands movement and has really good groove.
all Aespa members are rlly good dancers tbh everyone one of them rlly are different they all focus on diff things in their moves but i rlly like how bold Karina is in terms of adding more energy and power to her moves while considering the details her moves are big and powerful and her foot work is just so amazing the control she has in her lower body is amazing ✨🤌🏻it’s so satisfying to watch especially in step back it shows
Agreed. I loved Karina's movements the most in this choreography. She excels in footwork and like you said has so much control in her lower body it’s astonishing tbh. And thanks for mentioning step back because she did shine a lot in that era.
She even said herself that she adds more power to her movements which I do appreciate. It doesn’t always work out in aespa’s other choreos cause most of it is subtle robotic movements but because this song, illusion, is more hip hop influenced, her power shows and stands out.

If you watch Bada Lee's demo choreography for this, there was a wave part but using both arms.
I feel like the reason why Aespa is always getting attacked for being "Messy" and having "Lack of Coordination" is because they all have different styles and ways of dancing, it's not that they're bad dancers, they just need to learn how to blend together in order not to notice that difference, but i think they're not bad dancers.

I'm quite a few years late to AESPA, and I gotta say I feel compared to the other three that Karina doesn't get recognized as much. I don't really notice the intricate details like you and some others have, but Karina feels like she has a better form overall in the dances. Good reaction and thanks for replaying things to emphasize what you are talking about.

I noticed Ning and Giselle take some inspirations from older YG artists like CL and BIGBANG which I think shows in their dance attitude that you noticed in Ning’s execution and Giselle’s more hiphop style. Of course this is my observation and not a fact so take it as you will ^-^b
I am so happy for the Giselle appreciation. She might not be the best dancer. But she shines at some points. Apart of it surely is that she had a shorter trainee time. I don't know why but I really love her and Ning Nings stagd presence. They were always the best in out of the group idk why but them both had the best from what I saw. Not saying Karinas or Winters is bad but it just is that it is more outstanding by these 2. Even tho Giselle might have trouble with dancing she still counts in the stage presence which I appreciate. As her being the Main Rapper might be apart of it. In this dance I really like her body lines and smiled when you mentioned ^-^
And I am so happy as well that you mentioned Ning Ning a lot she is an amazing dancer. Anyways I wanted to ask if you already saw Karinas SYNK as it captures her dancing(SYNKs were released in pre debut days and showed their talents as in what they are the best or most skilled Gigi Rap, Karina Dance, Ning Ning Sing and Winter more like act she was used as the secret weapon)

I hope sm would let them wear comfy clothes when dancing for a stage perf, they're always wearing tight clothes or super short skirts considering the difficulty of their choreography its prolly really hard for them to dance

Love your reaction bcoz you're so detail in explaining their techniques and other little things that common people (like me) didn't notice but I hope you can pay a little bit attention to Winter bcoz there're some part that she did better than the other eg at 3:00, her moves and glance were so powerful. Also at 16:07 I noticed she did the exact thing as you say despite her not being at the centre but maybe you didn't notice that. But still, loves your reaction👍

I feel like Ningning is the best dancer in the group she has a perfect balance of groove and technical skills. I would disagree in saying that this dance is hard though. Compared to other 4th gen gg choreos, there's a lot of room for them to breathe and not really and moves that require a lot of power.

21:05 she probably lowered her body cuz ningning is short compared to her and sm choreographers always pay attention to this things. the most famous example must be sooyoung from girls generation she always complains that when she's beside sunny or taeyeon she needs to lower her body more than the movement requires it :D
