Got mine in 2021 (SE), had to wait ~6 mos, paid MSRP (in NC). Favorite car I've ever owned, great for long trips & super comfy. Short trips use no gas.
They can’t make enough of these at this time, even in highly populated area as mine in the NE USA, there is about a year wait. If you want one, order one now and hope for the best. Crazy.
Got this 2 weeks ago and I hope I can enjoy it soon. It’s currently at the dealer for the second time because the rear camera won’t work 50% of the time and the first time they didn’t fix it. It seems to not work in the cold and even with showing the service dept multiple videos of it not working the service dept claims they can’t repeat it so they can’t fix it so the whole Toyota experience has not been great and makes it hard to get excited about my new car. Also a minor thing but I am not a fan of the Toyota infotainment system with iPhone this is my first time with Toyota so not sure if this is standard but I HATE that when using CarPlay it doesn’t mute my music when reading my texts it just plays my messages and such through the driver speaker while keeping everything playing on the others. It’s so distracting and at time Siri doesn’t capture what I’m saying correctly not sure if it’s cause music is also playing but I wish they would change that. I love the distance I got on the charge and I hope they fix the camera soon so I can enjoy it.
Dealer markup is around $10k over MSRP here in California, putting it in Lexus price range, might as well get that. The Dealer mark up on Lexus equivalent is $3-4k.
I love Toyota, I own 2! Their new cars look amazing...that being said, the road noise compared to most other manufacturers still is still bad. Wish they did something with that while they give their vehicles all these makeovers
Excellent and very thorough video. The only details I wish your video included is if you had talked about what additional features there are on the 2023 RAV4 Prime with PP.
Excellent and thorough review! Infotainment set-up looks much improved over what they had before. If I was not going to hang on to the car for a long time, maybe for 5-6 yeas, I'd go with the Hybrid and save the money, but I am one who drives my cars for 200K-300K (just passed 225K on my 2006 Sequoia), so the Prime ultimately would be worth it over time due to the gas savings.
Where r the radio controls? Only on steering wheel. Would have been nice if they kept the tuning knob on the right side of screen, kind of balance the look .
Come to Canada. All you will see are advertising for the hybrids. Plugins are nonexistent and when you go to order the RAV4 they will try and sway you into buying an ICE which will only be 3-4 months wait verses the hybrid at a year and the plugin maybe in your lifetime.
Get the upcoming Corolla Cross hybrid coming out in the summer, will be shorter wait time. Also screw the gas price as you will be paying a lot less upfront 😅. EVs have 2 year wait times other than Teslas which cost more obviously.
Can you confirm if the EV only drive has speed restrictions? I was told my a salesperson that anything 80 km/h (speed not distance) it switches to gas.
On full EV it switches to gas at somewhere of 130 km/h. But i do not really recommend to use only electric mode. It is slow, it took 11 seconds for 0-100km/h. But when you drive in hybrid it is charm - you speed up, and only then it uses gas, and then while driving no gas. Also in winter it will take 3-5 minutes for prehit engine. With such hybrid mode it uses 1.5 liters per 100 km approximately if you always charge electricity. it means you need petrol station once a year 😂
@@artemca either sales person was being a salesperson by me taking the 21 prime instead of booking one. Maybe they were trying to mislead me. It sure was confusing as to what I have researched so far. Thanks but I have the answer now
@@theotang681 thanks for the advice, generally don’t floor it and drive mildly so that shouldn’t be a concern. 100km is pretty good. I plan to book next year 2024 May, hopefully by the time they fulfil I am looking at a 25-26 model and hopefully the range is extended to 125-150km on EV alone. That’ll be sweet!
Sorry but kind of sucks to watch these videos knowing most cannot even buy this mode due to waiting list. It is easier to get a Ferrari or Lamborghini if you had the money.

Here in Quebec, we are at 4 years wait, there is just so much demand with the federal and provincial incentives (10k rebate).
You can come by them in long island new york but it's not going to be exactly what you want most of the time
This was the best review I've seen for this car, I tried to get it last year but then the tax credit ran out

I got one at Toyota of San Bernardino there and no mark ups, but ya several other dealers were adding 5-10k
It'd be cheaper to fly to another state to buy one
I completely understand I payed 54,000 for the 2023 rav4 xse .😢
Got mine at Claremont toyota. No mark ups
@@nawshis8 how much did you pay? I was thinking of going to buy a rav4 at Toyota Carlsbad
Really good video man, I've seen other videos but yours is very detailed. Well done.
Thank you very much I'm glad it was helpful to you

But it's not only economy. Outstanding power 0-60mph is literally game changer for this car.
I'm about to get mine and wow this is perfect, now I know what all these buttons do ;)
Rav4 sxe is the ultimate cross suv to get. its got everything.
good luck getting one of these at msrp
I got my 2021 at Longo in El Monte. No markup. They are the largest volume dealer in the world so they get more of these. I had to wait 6 months.
@@susanashcraft2068 that was model 2 years ago though before the gas price craziness
Is plug-in hybrid good ?and which version is too good on prime ?

Can you make detial of how the hybride and plugin work for running?
I think as newby here in USA, better to have this as an initial car then give it to my wife eventually then i will get lexus gx....
regarding the black roof, it's an option now, at least in Canada ... I got mine without the black roof but I will probably have it done with a wrap
I payed MSRP but I had some extras. There were only two at the dealership.
Question: Does the dash cam also record rear view?
What are the paddle shifters behind the wheel?
What exactly is new over Prime XSE Premium 2022?
new multimedia software with larger screens and the 12.3 inch guage cluster screen
still have 6 months to wait for mine. i'm so impatient.

*11 JBL speakers, 2 in each rear door ;)
thank you for the correction there was a lot of info to cover with this one
Q: do those ascent lights work like fog lights??
Luxury nice RAV4
I'll take it.
Sucks how we have to either pay marked up prices for these bad boys at dealerships, or wait a year or so for allocation from factory.

i can go up to 100 km and you use only the electric motor. no gas. don't floor it. smoothly go up to 100 km.
