The Washington Colisseum show needs to be released as a live album 100%. The vibes are high at that show, as they say. And with all that work put into remixing the sound, it should absolutely be released on CD and vinyl!
In spite of all of its imperfections, it’s definitely the best SHOW ever caught on camera. The Australian performances in June ‘64 are their best PERFORMANCES, me thinks, but 11 February 1964 is the day the Beatles knew they had conquered the world and it shows. It is the APEX of their live shows.
HOORAY! HOORAY! HOORAY! The Washington Concert is HISTORIC and should have been released on Blu-Ray/4K years ago! This concert alone makes this a MUST HAVE! I will purchase this the very instant it's available!

I’m the generation of the Beatles, so anything, and everything concerning the Beatles is very much welcomed. However, I work at a college and have come across many, from the newer generations, who are very aware of the Beatles music, but at the same time, find the Beatles no longer of any relevance? This is a wee bit sad. As I grew up with the 60’s era music, I still found Mozart, Beethoven, Robert Johnson, Billie Holiday, and on and on, was very relevant to 60’s era music. As Mr. Lennon’s ‘Imagine’ should be very relevant today, so should Ms. Holiday’s ‘Strange Fruit’ be equally relevant. It seems the appreciation of the past, is being lost.
There's no genuine curiosity for many, they let the internet and the media do their thinking for them. it has created an "ADHD" generation with the attention span of a protozoa.
When this was announced by some Facebook pages, some trolls were asking why saying that they'll just make a documentary about everything. I agree with you about an audio document. The Ron Howard film had a soundtrack from the Hollywood Bowl. Also, agree with your comments about the complaining. People also say that Spotify are crooks. My response is everyone's a crook in their own way. If record companies were fair, you wouldn't have the Beatles starting Apple or Led Zeppelin starting Swan Song
A live album with The Beatles' Washington Colosseum concert and selected Ed Sullivan Show performances would've been a much better audio release to support this film. Watch it be a digital release only, like the rooftop performance. 😊 The older Beatle fans will certainly get deja vu watching this, because of the previous "The First US Visit" documentary. Though, this will look and sound better. I sure hope they weren't tempted to colorize everything. That wouldn't be the best idea. It should be shown as it was originally filmed, in black & white. I hope we get a physical release of this film.
All good points. I am guessing they won't try to colorize it....but then again Peter Jackson did some amazing work with colorizing for the documentary "They Shall Not Grow Old".
I hope the demix the crowd noise enough that it isn’t as loud as the Hollywood bowl concerts were. I understand crowd is part of it, but it shouldn’t be as loud as the band
@@TJRtheOriginal Some would argue that is rewriting history if they completely wipe out the crowd noise with AI .Keep the crowd in and balanced so you can here the performance, but don;t o-blue-ter-rate it.
I am disappointed the Beatles’ 1964 summer American tour footage has not been included. The concerts and events were history making and every bit as important as Ed Sullivan Show appearances!
Unfortunately Brian Epstein wouldn’t allow recording or filming of many of the Beatles concerts for fear it would affect ticket sales!! Oh if only he’d realised the error of his ways, and that the reverse would most likely have been true …
I won't support Disney, due to their unscrupulous behavior, abusive attitude, woke activism, and literal deconstruction of billion dollar franchises. It is sad that the Beatles are affiliated with this deplorable company.
I agree. As someone who was not around then, you hear those who were around talking about how monumental and life-changing it was to see them singing I Want To Hold Your Hand on the Ed Sullivan Show. Then you see the footage and you can barely hear John, which has me scratching my head as to why it was so impactful. I suspect it is one of those cases where everyone has a false and enhanced memory of it, because I bet it comes as much of a surprise to them of they go back and watch it again and see how badly it was done, not by The Beatles, but those who failed to ensure the equipment was working properly.
I feel like I've seen this before, wasnt there already a documentry about this?....aha you just mentioned it , 'The Beatles: The First U.S. Visit'..... it sounds like a cleaned up version of this.....
I'm just so sad that they never released the new let it be on DVD and I'm certain this one won't be either. So that's kind of the problem that I have with disney. I'm a big DVD collector and have many documentaries by many groups on DVD
They almost certainly will release the new Let It Be movie on DVD and/or Blu-Ray eventually. Not sure why it hasn't been released yet, though. It's probably because of a contractual agreement between Apple and Disney stipulating that it can't be given a physical release until it's been on Disney+ for a certain amount of time. I would expect a release soon. Hopefully in time for Christmas!
No need to subscribe to Disney for this Uf yo have the DVD of the Beatles visit to America that came out years ago I’m sure this uses the same footage that the brothers used for the DVDS
TJR,, What is the title of the Abbey Road doc.? I did not sign up to Disney plus until they released the LET IT BE movie then I watched Get Back. Thanks for the press release info.
Well, this has got to be cheaper than paying outlandish money for tickets to a Geriatric Paul McCartney concert where he sings but often flat, and his voice warbles. Especially after I bought hundreds of dollars worth of recordings, DVD's [movies] and Books on the Beatles and Paul etc. over the decades. I realize he's 82, but maybe time to hang it up. And I am an extreme Beatles Fan at age 68.
I dunno, I'm a Beatle-maniac of the first order. I grew up with them, learned to play guitar because of them, and feel fortunate to have been alive when they were still making music. But the well has been emptied to a large extent. I know Scorsese is a far superior film maker to opie whose stuff I find formulaic. I also think he's a coward and a punk who engages in character assassination but only with guys who aren't alive to defend themselves or kick his Mayberry ass, but I digress. His film on this period was a yawner. I'm sure Martin will do a better job but there won't be anything new in there, no revelation, no unique insight, in short, nothing I don't already know. Okay, so maybe the audio of the performances will be cleaned up but that's not enough for me to subscribe to disney for even a week. That's just my take on it. I know I sound like a Debbie Downer but I'm really not. I saw Wings Over America in 76 and it was the most amazing show I have ever seen. But that was almost 50 years ago. I wouldn't pay a dime to see Sir Paul these days and I wish he would finally hang it up. I'm good with my memories, but like I say, that's me. I'm sure it's not a popular position among fans of 60s music. So be it. If you want to watch, by all means, and I'm sure it will be entertaining, fine quality stuff. Enjoy the show. I'm just going to sit it out. I only came here because I was curious about the content. Nice video, thanks for posting.
Tend to agree on current McCartney performances and ticket prices. i spent enough money for decades on records, CD's DVD's and books and I don;t get a discount on tickets for that and no one else does either. I don't owe Paul a f-in thing even though I like his music.
