This was so well made, crazy animations and details. This video hits as hard as a microsoft or apple video. Hats off to whoever planned this video and voice read out.
Whoever made the trailer, the software, the design (probably inspired by Apple), should DEFINITELY get a raise. You earned a sub and a download+install.
This is a very well made trailer. Caught my attention the second it turned on. If only bigger tech companies like Apple or Microsoft advertised like this.
@@fabricekabongo It's always been my first question when it comes to providing high end products/services when they relate to personal data. In the end, there is an investment and they need to be able to at least break even to continue to exist. This is no more than normal. They did a banger of a job on their website and this video. The production value will be nothing to scoff at. It seems like the product has a fair bit of potential. Hence the question: where is the money coming from in the long run.
@@usertube69 well that's my question isn't it? They are providing a platform for apps. So it COULD be datacollection, but it could also be platform fees. Given it can be downloaded for self-installation you will keep the data in your house because that is precisely what the product is intended to do. So where is the money coming from?
This is Ad I want to see, not those low quality bs others make. I'm hyped for the Linux Version! Currently I'm running it on my PI and it works so well! CasaOS can pack up and leave. Love you and your Team
DO NOT UPGRADE! Lost all my settings. Have to start from scratch. PISSED! If they put half as much effort into the launch and quality assurance as they did into this video, maybe there wouldn't be a ton of people who lost all their settings and configurations. Check the umbrel community board before you even consider it.
Sorry about the trouble, Vanessa! We've pinpointed the issue to a unique combination of Raspberry Pi 4 and certain external drives. Recent updates to the Linux kernel inadvertently caused some Pis to struggle with recognizing external storage. We’ve rolled out umbrelOS 1.0.1 for the Pi, specifically to address this issue. Regarding your concern about lost settings or data: you shouldn't have lost anything at all. The issue arises because, without detecting an external drive, the umbrelOS assumes there's no data, prompting you to create a new account. However, once you re-flash umbrelOS 1.0.1 and reconnect your external drive, it should recognize all your stored data and settings just as before. Everything should be back to normal then!
Looks promising! I have an older i7 NUC and an older i7 Dell Optiplex 7050 that could do very well with the Ubuntu or Debian version. Can't wait to try this out!
I like pretty things. I love pretty things that function properly and with style. Might have to fiddle around with this and start our own pic/vid host and cancel Google One.
The focus on design is amazing. Just looked at Umbrel's website, and it's just as stunning as this video. Can't wait to run this on one of my rasps. Does this perform decent on older gens as well? How about something like the Banana Pi?
I don’t know why my raspberry pi laying in the corner should have an cool af looking interface like this and I kind of don’t get what this is but the trailer was sick!
So, is this a light OS with a pretty GUI that hosts a bunch of docker containers for apps? I'm not knocking it, because we need pretty, touch screen things in the home automation space. I just don't understand how you'd expect to run a nextcloud, jellyfin, or plex server on a Pi.
I wasn’t able to find anything about the technology involved but i think docker is the most realistic explanation for this. If it’s docker based i think running all those services on a pi is realistic
whoever made this trailer he deserves a raise
Seriously. I love the focus on design.
FOR REAL. PROMOTION TIME
It's called a raise.
Raise or boycott!
They liked all comments besides this even though is the most liked one hahaha clearly they don't fancy the idea
Whoever made this has got to become a cinematographer. This felt hype for something i dont care about. I love it.
They probably are...
Who the hell cooked with this ad?! THIS WAS AMAZING!
A big corporation 😂
virtual synths don't even get ads like this haha

This is so good I had to check if the video aired on April Fools' Day. 😆
This demo is so catchy, I've been watching it over and over again. I have yet to try the product itself :)
Bro casually dropped Windows level marketing edit and thought we shouldn't notice 😮
You mean Mac os marketing
Apple level shit, that's really good.
1:01 And they included easter aggs for the incel people.
Forget windows, this is Apple level. Better than both really, because this actually about the product.
Nah windows software ads are better
@@alainportant6412Apple uses terrible music though.
OMG this ad is so catchy !! I got goosebumps, installing it right now, I do have a Pi 4b laying around
Whoever is doing the voiceover needs to be hired for the next Apple keynote. I was amazingly amazed. 😊

It's almost definitely AI.

What's more impressive than the Video is the actual OS and the way they're giving us what we've always wanted both aesthetically and functionally !
I didn't even know I wanted this till I saw this, fantastic job

mind-blowing video. seriously top notch enterprise level advertising
Wow what a great high quality trailer! Wish you all the best!
This is literally on Fire! I cant Imagine this is Umbel OS v1
Very excited to buy a kit and the k2 plus. Let's go! Great work to all the engineers involved!
Seen this, instantly ordered a pi5, It’s coming tomorrow and I’m prepping the SD Card now. Really looking forward to this:)
how's the progress?

masterpiece video editing in here
I love the color grading and styling yaar.. I wish Umbrel should enter into main stream of OS.
This video is FIRE, hopefully the OS will be as well
wow, this trailer ist just amazing.
The ads video is art craft, but still the implementation have a lot questions. Great video
Holy moly. This ad is epic!!!! And finally something to test on my pi I might keep 😅
Fascinating - I will definitely be looking into this

Can't wait for the Linux version to be released! I believe it said April 2024 so a few more weeks before 🎉🎉🎉

this is like the best aesthetic elements from both Windows 11 and MacOS, improved.

Impressive!
Now the big question. What is the business model that allows you to provide this product?

They sell hardware which is bit overpriced. I believe this is where some of the fund is coming from.
This is beautiful
I didn't even know what this is, but the video was so good I had to check it out
If there is a version without the "use in browser" feature Im downloading it directly! (I know it remove what makes it unique but the OS is SPLENDID!)
