Dude perfect. First time in UA-cam history I found a video for exactly what I needed. Thank you.

I thought it was a big problem but you saved me, I fixed it myself in less than an hour.

I appreciate this bud. 2016 model is what I have and it's done it 2 times now. I've had it to the shop 2x and I'm tired of paying for it. Thank you very much.

I have followed the cable to the plastic gears under the driver's side. I wonder if they used grease that tends to stick in cold weather thus cable bends? Mine happen during cold weather.. was curious if this happen with cold weather with yours too? I might try to clean off some of their grease and use a low temp grease instead. The cable was only 13 bucks and I don't see anything wrong with the plastic gears being too worn.

Nice probably the same thing for a 2014. I'm going to try and tackle this tomorrow . The knobs where it switches where the air blows out broke off inside somewhere

Same car same problem, but mine springs back to a stuck on position. I hope I can fix it, if not I'll have to buy it from Chevrolet. Another best option should be, salvage yard from a wrecked car.
Thank you, I just needed to know how to remove it.

I've had problems twice with that exact knob. Mine is also " spinning back ". Kind of irritating when ice is freezing to the windshield as I drive lol.

Do you have to twist the white plastic dial to the first setting before you put it back on?

Holy cow. I guess it's a bad design. I have the same problem in my '16.

This is literally the worst damn design. Two criss crossed cables that are evidently too soft.
Once again, new cars are destined for the junk yard.
