The best app I've used, because it uses your phone resources and it's much faster. With automatic hotspot and GPS in your phone it's so easy....one question...can we set the app to auto launch when it connects? I have android 10 in the unit and android 11 in the phone. Thank you

This is regarding Blaupunkt 970.
I was and to download and run Playstore following your instructions. But found could not download any other app like Car Launcher Free.
As suggested by you, I carried our Factory Reset, and started again.
However, now am back to square one, Playstore or anything else not visible even after changing to 'not closed' and " accept risky apps".
Can you help?

You are a life saver. I was searching for something like this from quite sometime. I have tried this and it is working perfectly(tried wired one now. Will set up WiFi in couple of days). Nicely explained. I have Key largo 970 in my Creta. Only thing I am still not satisfied is the icons displayed in the app drawer. It doesn't give HD look. Its kind of pixelled. Is there some settings I need to change in the key largo settings? Plz help.

Thank you so much for the video, setup the android auto and it works well. I have a major issue .as soon as I connect my phone to the usb port the Android auto interface pops up and it works well and maps and all apps are visible. but when I play the music it pauses immediately . If i open the native Bluetooth app on the car system it starts playing on that interface and no matter what i do it does not play on the android auto interface , it just pauses immediately , I see some videos on UA-cam and forums where people have the same issue but no one has the resolution
Glad the video helped. Did you toggle the audio settings of HUR for play through Stereo? You should also try start playing through BT of stereo and connect the Phone for Android Auto to come, then it will play

Glad you liked it. And unfortunately you cannot run Netflix and some other OTT apps. You can try browser version once but not through Android auto.
Where do you put the other end of the USB cable as,the Key Largo does not have any input

Try enabling Audio Sink in Settings of HUR and see if it helps.
@@IAmGizmogeek it is enabled, the only solution I found was disabling audio sink and connect my phone with Bluetooth and have audio controlled through headunit, now I can use steering wheel controls but I wish I could just use steering controls in HUR.
@@vigilante9259 Strange, i have not connected my phone via BT and keep the Audio Sink ON. Steering wheel controls work fine for me. May be remap SWC and see if it helps.

Hi, when I try to connect my Samsung phone to Headunit reloaded, the voice is not coming from the unit, it is coming from phone. I have made the settings which you have provided in this video. Any suggestions. If I will connect my phone with BT then voice is coming from the stereo.

And yes, if only for songs and maps, go for Sony or Pioneer if you are ok with 7" not so bright display for same or slightly less price. If Display is also an important factor, then go with this and use this method for taking the benefit of both :)

Can you recommend if I should get this or a Sony or Pioneer head unit with Carplay as well. I Use both an Android and an iPhone so have both options. Headunits like the Key Largo and other Android based ones look much better integrated in my Swift than the standard double DIN Sony's. The only use in the car would be Maps, reverse camera and songs so was eyeing one with a larger screen.

Hey... As you said, the major advantage of Key Largo is the large and bright screen. But if using iphone is also a major requirement, then going with sony/pioneer carplay one would be better. Sony has a 9" one which is slightly costly but looks better than the standard double din one.
I am trying to find an alternative to HUR for iphones too, will share if I do.

@@IAmGizmogeek Yes the larger Sony one is about 30k but I believe it’s a floating screen so will have to check in stores how it looks.
From what I’ve searched for Android Headunits, you can either use a CarPlay dongle which is unavailable in India as of now or an app called ‘Zlink’ which people use to have the same functionality as Headunit Reloaded but I’m still researching on that part.

@@virajdhuru Yep Carplay dongle and An app are the solution for car play. Zlink or Tlink are the apps that can be used but many don't work on some of the Android head units. So need to verify and recommend.

As per our last discussion, I tried wired method today. Once I connect my phone with stereo through wire, automatically the headunit reloaded interface comes but not launching map. Then, I have turned on mobile hotspot and connect with car stereo and click the wi fi icon on that interface but still map is not launching. What to do?
When I click the wifi icon, i get an message which state that due to recent android restriction that option will work only with companion with wifi launcher app. Wifi launcher needs to be installed on phone and both phone and stereo have to be connected with same wifi network. Then connection will start automatically.
As stated above, I have turned on mobile hotspot and connected with stereo and also installed wifi launcher on phone. Now not able to understand what to do. Can I talk or mail the screenshot to you? Any possibility? Need ur help urgently.
Don't we need to go in phonr settings option & do some changes like onning developer options or start hud server,like that?

There will be option to hude notification bar. Select that.
On hiding notification bar android auto notification turns off but i wanna turn off key largo notification bar at the top that show back menu at top which i can see u have turned off somehow

Yes.. it will work on any "Android" Stereo that works on Android 8 or above.

You have done amazing work, in detail and very informative.
I'm looking for new unit for Renault duster 2017.
I saw few android auto units like my tvs and also the Blaupunkt largo..
Which one should would you recommend?
The android head has play store so I can download any app required and use it.
But not sure of the processor of head unit are that fast as the phone?
If I use Blaupunkt largo with connecting cable, mirror link and the app you have mentioned it probably gives more flexibility?
Also how is your experience with Blaupunkt, any issues, service support and when you installed it?
Could you please suggest about model from Sony and Pioneer?

Glad you like it... With the method I mentioned, it's quite satisfactory with Blaupunkt if you want music and maps as main use. Service has been responsive for me but can't say same for all locations. It would be better though than Chinese ones. Sony xav models are good for simple Android auto wired method without any issues. But blaupunkt has better screen, so I suggest Blaupunkt but be prepared to use with this method as the inbuilt Android is super laggy and unusable for most time. 980 which is latest version can be slightly better though.

Hey... To be frank am happy only because the Head Unit Reloaded helps in using Android Auto Mode.. If not I would have been regretting due to the slow response and lags in inbuilt Android Part. Better to go with any Android Auto player if Navigation is the main purpose. Or else, go with Chinese ones that provide Android Auto support.

I have a question about connecting to your phone because if I want to connect to my phone to android out with the reload app I have to go in the app and press USB and select the phone it doesn’t automatically turn on android auto when I put the cable in my phone can you help?
It's mostly because you did not disable the Easy Connect App as I mentioned in the Video. Once it's done, it will work automatically.

To be honest I have kept a dongle in my car and still apps were sluggish due to network issues as we didn't have android auto and people even suggested to change Key Largo. Hi... The USBs of stereo are connected with an extender that comes out from glove box. if you aren't given that long cable, buy a USB extender.
Sound quality in original baleno was really good... Can you help how to get better sound here in key largo
Hi... To be frank I did not find any degradation as such. In EQ try different presets and see if any is good for you.

I am using headunit reloaded purchased version and facing sudden disconnection. Tried changing usb cable also. But no effect.
Disconnection frequency is sometimes 3 hour or sometime 30 min

Hi... In the settings of the App before connecting phone, you will gind Left/Right hand side driving. Change the option selected and it will move to right side. Hope this helps.

Upon opening the plastered and selecting the appit continous shows "pending" and doesn't install anything.

Hey . You have to install only on stereo. No need for phone. Phone need to have Android auto though. Which phone is it?
Make sure you disabled Phone link app on stereo as shown.

If you are talking about MAPPLS app, then yes you can use it independently on the stereo itself by installing from Playstore, but if you are asking if you can use Map my india instead of Google Maps by connecting phone, then no

Hey, using from more than 6 months and never faced freeze issues. Could be due to android auto on your phone or android version. Which phone are you using? Test with another phone and see if same happens

Then if i uninstall and reinstall, it works for the first time and again it freezes if i use for second time. I am using iQOO 9 mobile with Android 12. Also whenever I connect my mobile through USB cable, blaupankt key Largo doesn't start the map automatically and i have to open HUR app and then to tap USB connectivity icon in the HUR app screen. Please help
@@riyazmohamed1706 For the last part, you have to disable Phone link app on stereo as shown in the video so that map opens automatically. Regarding the freezing, could be phone specific, contact app developer once

Hi, i have same problem after upgrading firmware. Device keys not working
Despite changing from "closed" to "Not closed" in Factory setting, I am still not able to view Google Play or any of the other apps in my home screen list. How did you get yours visible? Do you think it's restricted because of my firmware version of the Key Largo 970? Which is newer than the one you are operating here in this video?
I had the same problem. You need to get it fixed through authorised service centre. They will reload the whole software which could take aroun 20 to 30 minutes. It is free if your product is under warranty.

I own a hyundai creta and feel that the rear camera visual looks pixelated in key largo 970 display.
But the same comes crisp clear on Hyundai OEM display . One of the reasons could be the fact that OEM display shows the rear camera view in only half of the display area and the rest of the display area shows the sensors.
Extention of the same in Key Largo full 10.1 inch display might be causing the pixels.
But is there any hack to overcome the same?
Like to change the video resolution while rear camera is on?
Hey... Glad you liked it... Unfortunately you cannot change much for Rear camera. The display is FHD so it can make the low mp rear camera output not so clear compared to a 720 display. I generally find my rear camera display sufficient for reverse even in night

Not to be installed on your phone. Only Stereo. Phone should have Android Auto, that's it and remain all steps to be followed. Hope that helps

Hi, does it work only with 1 usb port? For me it is only working on 1 usb port for tata nexon xm. Also it is not working with 1920×1080 resolution. Much tanks for informative video, it is really helpful.

The USB port which is given with charging port in nexon, my phone just not get connected. And with resolution 1920 × 1080 it just get crashed and android auto shows error 18(communication error). I tried methods like disable dual app and others but it didn't work.
I am also using in my nexon xm, i think you have not done canbus wiring, after that inbuilt usb port of the car will work

Head Unit reloaded is a life saver. The developer Emil is super helpful. For me the wireless method (starting Android Auto server) is more reliable though. I keep it to 350 dpi
- I am using a mini Wi-fi router with minor tweaks, as my phone was heating up quite a lot when creating mobile hotspot. The USB connection kept disconnecting whenever I hit a rough patch or road bumps. It may also be because on Android version. HU Reloaded works better on newer versions (v10) maybe - not sure. My phone (Galaxy S8+) is running v9.
- On the Key Largo, Google Maps is painfully slow. Waze works way faster. Makers could have done better than the 2 GB RAM
- Have you tried turning off Animations in the developer settings? I’ve observed it makes the Key largo faster.
- I did observe a weird setting on Head Unit reloaded app, which for some reason for me was on by default. The music volume kept increasing/decreasing with my driving speed. Took me sometime to figure out it was SVC and turn it off.
- Amazon Music troubles continue. I’ve switched to UA-cam Music, which is lightweight.
- I’ve also managed to connect my 2 TB HDD. NTFS format seems to work better in Key Largo than FAT32 or exFAT, at least for larger drives. Have also tried 128, 256 GB pen drives.
Apps I use on Key Largo - Nova launcher (made as default), n7 player, MX Player pro, VLC, Waze, Google Assistant, UA-cam & YT Music.
oh and USB Hubs work well on it too. I use a mini USB touchpad/keyboard on it.
I think your disconnection could be due to Loose USB cable and not android Version. I use mostly with Samsung M40 which is on A10, but also used when it was A9. Worked fine with no disconnections. It happened though once, but again re-installing app solved it. Make sure you have Easy connect Disabled for better connection.
And yes, The speed volume control was confusing for me too and figured it late. Mentioned the same in video too.
Waze is definetely better but as mentioned in the video, once I started using this, I don't wanna go back to that wait of loading maps on any app.
Spotify Lite would be better than YT Music. I have stopped though to try use the Android Apps on Key largo, not so useful for me. Glad to see you are making the most out of it.
@@IAmGizmogeek true. I am using the USB slots of the car, and the connectors could be loose too. Have disabled Easy connect. I had tried HU reloaded beta app too - just to automate the wireless connectivity. but there were issues with it so rolled back. will test the USB further.

It's wonderful demo . I tried with trail version that worked very well. Actually I used my mobile( Android 7) connecting via my new mobile Android 11. Than I purchased HUR .the HUR screen opens with self mode/ Wi-Fi, start Wi-Fi using BT, USB, setting and exit. When I connect via cable the page opens . The moment I click on settings I get a message " unfortunately head unit reloaded has stopped" I followed ur instructions using Nova launcher .trail app worked not this one . Can you please help? Also let me know phone and car system Wi-Fi, BT and other things to kept on o
r off. Some time my phone goes to USB options showing no data transfer, BT teeth erring etc

Thanks for sharing! Does this work on Chinese headunits? I have one (Ultrasonic) in my car and I tried this method on my S22 Ultra. The app doesn't detect USB at all and the wifi method also doesn't work (Connection refused). Any suggestions would be appreciated 👍
Hi... It works on any Android stereo. Reason could be your cable. It needs to support data transfer. Try a different cable. Am using with S22U and it's working fine

Hi... Without Bluetooth, you have to use the phone's speaker for the call. The call will automatically open with phone speaker instead of car stereo. There's no way to get the audio during call via stereo unfortunately. Will let you know if I find a way.

I’m unable to install any apps on Key largo 970.
You need to go to Factory Settings with password 1234 and then make it as Not Closed or Open and select Allow insecure apps to be installed option. Hope this helps

Hey ... Try hotspot from different network and if it doesn't work, do a factory reset.
do check if in the system settings you have unchecked - "Setting up a Closed system". It wont let you install any new apps until then.

No it doesn't support apple carplay. You need to use an apple car play dongle which is very costly.
