"INTPs are free spirited idea mills and absentminded professors, which makes them fun to be around, easily diverted, and a plethora of unending creativity." - Otto Kroeger, Type Talk at Work Enjoy :)
See this I can agree with, what you described here but it's only half. What are you if your in constant disagreement of yourself. The only one that I fit is the I . I'm halves of all the others...
I was doing the exact opposite : getting A's from the start, until reaching the point where I could give blank copies, and still get the average... Same spirit, different approach. :)
This reminds me how fun it was in my teens. An INTP with no responsibilities... it was great. But it all fades when adult life comes; marriage, family, job, mortgage and obligations on top of obligations that are attached to relationships that need to be emotionally maintained. KILL ME NOW! INTP's need to be free above all.
I'm a teen now and just the sound of that makes me want to hide in my room forever xD I love my freedom right now and it's really depressing thinking that I'll have to give it up soon.
Least likely to believe in higher spiritual power? Don't think so.. any true scientist who seeks outside of himself and not only inside of a book knows that the whimsical and metaphysical go hand in hand with the natural physical world
Deities and spiritual powers have nothing to do with the metaphysical aspects of the world and their connection to the physical world. Spirituality can be disregarded as purely irrational.
This did not resonate with me either. Nor did the part about addictive substances, which I have 0 interest in. I have no interest in dulling my own thoughts and perceptions.
In the video, the guy goes on saying INTP fun fact #3: "INTPs hate their jobs, because INTPs tend to have the highest career dis-satisfactory of all types". Well, as an INTP person myself, I would rather say this is actually a sad fact, not a funny one, thank you!
Thanks for watching! Yeah, I think it's funny in a black humorous way but also sad. Sad in the sense of society not being able to provide satisfactory career options/jobs for the part of the population which tends to have the highest IQ.
Totally, which is a bit ironic as well. Speaking of which, this video describes me accurately, in a way that’s hard for me to ignore, so I thought about asking you for an advice on what should I do with my life. In a nutshell, I was forced to study structural engineering - I know it sounds sad - it was either that or no college funds! However, I've graduated with a 2.8 GPA although I never liked it or had no interest in it at all. I have been working in construction for the past 10 years, and out of the blue, I quit my job, decided never to work there ever again, because I hated every bit of my life in the past decade. It took me a long time to finally have the courage to leave my job and get back home from wherever hell hole I was in. That was 4 months ago, I wanna do something I would definitely enjoy and be creative in! I even think about going to school again, any suggestions?
long text :) I test as an ENTP and we ENTPs also have a very low job satisfaction. Rational (NT) Perceivers (P) whether INTPs or ENTPs just don’t work and feel well in corporate hierarchical orderly environments where you do mostly the same for 45 years of your life. I usually get annoyed with a task if I have to do it twice even if it is something really small like writing an address on a letter a couple of times - so I can really relate. Even though I don't know a lot about structural engineering I think this depends on what precisely you hated about your job. If you just hated what you did day in day out I would definitely stay with structural engineering and look for another company and only apply for other positions that have very very different work requirements basically a completely different set of tasks you do at work. (Image a real estate agent that just hates to do the paperwork in the office and therefore specializes in viewing appointments and communication with customers.) If you hate everything about structural engineering than this is a whole different story. If this is the case, I would definitely check if there the possibility to do something that generates you passive income. (think of something like this: ua-cam.com/video/P0_t0QZUVws/v-deo.html ) Even though this could be considered riskier than being permanently employed working 9-5, you (or INTPs in general) will definitely feel a lot better because this will give you the peace and freedom that INTPs are craving for more than any other type. Also consider taking some time off and do something like solo travelling for a year. This is a quite common INTP hobby and it is something INTPs usually enjoy a lot because it helps them to sort out a lot of things in their head and become more decisive (a skill INTPs often lack because they want to truly know before they decide for anything) Taking some time off will also refuel you which can be very important especially for INTPs because 10 years of 9-5 can feel like 40 years for INTPs simply because modern work usually involves (and you can basically read this in all job ads): being detail oriented (sensor), working result oriented (judger) and being extrovert which all don’t come naturally to INTPs and exhaust the hell out of them. hope it helps!
Me too Leanne, it’s irrational to think the natural came to exist within natural law, that’s scientifically impossible. The natural could only come to exist from that which is outside the natural. Commonly called the supernatural.
But you constantly have to think about it. Is that a sign of Gods existence? Did I miss any other signs? Did I see all the signs? Will there be more signs?.........
No, ENTJs and especially ESTJs are NOT natural partners for INTPs. Ti does not get along all that well with Te/Fi. Communication is more difficult between those who have opposite attitudes for their judging functions than it is between thinkers and feelers. Intuitives tend not to get along so well with sensors. Moderate introverts may get along well with moderate extraverts, but strong introverts are completely incompatible with extraverts. (When it comes to introversion/extraversion opposites tend to attract when we are young and immature, but those relationships tend to end in ugly divorces. Mature individuals tend to stick to their own kind, knowing that their lifestyles are otherwise incompatible.) The best match for an INTP is an INFJ, followed by an ENFJ, an ENTP, or a fellow INTP.
magister343 not necessarily. Those might be good matches for an intp, but an entj might as well be a good, f not the best (depending on the person though). For the thing is, where an intp's cognitive functions are Ti Ne Si Fe, the entj have the same kind of "order" but the functions are just "flipped", Te Ni Se Fi. So, the thing is, intp and entj will have to work a bit to getting used to how the other person's personality and way of thinking etc works, but they will also be able to grow a whole lot once they do! Entj want results while intp are more generally into understanding and ideas. An intp NEEDS someone that can encourage them to do things, and get more effective, and that is pretty much what an entj would be able to do. (I am no expert on the field, and I'm still learning about this whole system, but I believe an intp actually can usually go pretty well with everyone, (to some degree at least) if only the PERSON (not the personality type, as there are different individuals of each personality type) is open minded and accepting of how an intp works!
magister343 this is quite correct. While there is potential for any pairing to work, the types listed above are pretty spot on. My personal favorite is the INFJ. I absolutely LOVE them and virtually always get along with them. ENTP woman have a natural attraction to me. I think they are pretty awesome too.
INTP and ESTJ are quite often listed as an IDEAL MATCH, yes ideal. Here is a graph that combines many sources: s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/13/03/a1/1303a1988541e3026f3dae1664a2a3b0.jpg It is very true that all other SJ types are the worst possible matches for an INTP but you simply cannot say that all SJ types are non compatible with NT/NF types as it is stated way too often.
+magister343 I think you read the word "partnership" in a fairly restricted way. Partnerships are about making things work with both parties' strengths and for the benefit of both parties. BOTH PARTIES need to be confident enough to ASSERT themselves for it to work. Knowing that most INTPs don't like to assert themselves, It's not surprising that they would run away from EXTJs. I have to say that on any project that I have carried out with ENTJs and ESTJs, we started by grating on each other's grounds, but complimented eachother like no one else in the team/staff in the end. We work well because ESTJs like to direct people, hoard responsabilities and bask in the glory while I prefer to examine procedures for holes, anticipate problems and propose amendments. ENTJs want to push their mighty projects forward against all odds, whereas I have fun showing them the cracks that will crumble their monolithic targets. I can't help but always wonder: "Why are these ExTJ lots even listening to a passing shadow like me?" I still haven't found the answer, but it's fine for me. Afterall, it's not everyday that someone GENUINELY wants to know what I think about a certain problem/issue. It feels good to contribute without expending much effort. :) The INTP-INFJ talks is all good, but I don't think I have met many INFJs in my life (I only attest of 1). And If I did, I probably never realised they were there anyway... Z_z
I can't agree more. I personally wouldn't want to be around an ENTJ since I hate being controlled. I believe an INFJ is the perfect match for an INTP. No wonder it's called the "golden pair"

As an INTP, I figured these tests are not 100% accurate and need one more variable to get like 25types, cuz my hobbies are more like ISTP ones (I was mistyped first). Anyhow largely I am INTP since I figured this out XD
I’ve heard my best partner is ESFP or ESFJ. Also ENFJ. Now ENTJ or ESTJ? I have dated an ISFJ INFP and ENFP. I feel like I could be with any of these types and it’s not like one would be better than the other. These findings hold true for people in all industries, at all levels, in every region of the world. We haven’t yet been able to find a job in which performance and pay aren’t tied closely to emotional intelligence. -End quote. Next video will be about this and will be released in a couple of days. :)
Yeah, I know what you mean. There are some different theories about MBTI and best partners and of course, relationships are something we humans haven't fully figured out. (just think of the divorce rate) In one of the 3 books, I that used to create these Myers Briggs videos ESTJs are listed as one of the best partners for INTPs - I know that this INTP ESTJ thing feels weird but there are some other sources like the compatibility chart someone mentioned. In that chart INTPs and ESTJs are listed as one of few 'ideal matches' s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/13/03/a1/1303a1988541e3026f3dae1664a2a3b0.jpg
..... In my personal experience, ESTJ's are way far to be a good match for an INTP. Why? ESTJ'S are way too bossy, closed minded, traditional, arrogant and hypocrites. I would rather be with an ENTJ than an ESTJ. ESTJs are just something bad for this world. Nothing good! 😂😂
Omg what's next are you going to do a video on zodiac signs ? It's outlandish enough of a claim that people fit into this nice little box of 16 personalities, but using it to find a partner?!?! Wow lol

I have found that IQ tests often test knowledge as opposed to ability.
ENTPs are smarter and more creative
Maybe ENTPs are more creative but they are not smarter if you define smarter = higher IQ
There are many studies about IQ and MBTI-Types. Most of the time it is INTP > INTJ > and then something like INFJ/INFP/ENTP/ENTJ (Introverts and Intuitives tend to do better on IQ tests.)
But you could be correct if you define smart differently.
Don't forget that today, success in life is all about EQ (Emotional Intelligence).
I found that Emotional intelligence is the single biggest predictor of success and my next video will be about it.
There isn't a study about this but to me, it feels like ENTPs tend to have a higher EQ than INTPs (but maybe this is only me.)
Quote from a study:
people with average IQs outperform those with the highest IQs 70% of the time. This anomaly threw a massive wrench into what many people had always assumed was the sole source of success-IQ. These findings hold true for people in all industries, at all levels, in every region of the world. We haven’t yet been able to find a job in which performance and pay aren’t tied closely to emotional intelligence. -End quote.
Next video will be about this and will be released in a couple of days. :)
MinionNoMore very good point but you still have to consider that ENTPs are a very intelligent type
being stubborn/more persistent doesnt equal intelligence necessarily ;) :P just trolling
my favourite personality type is ENTJ.
So I've had to do this 3 times, I'm half of all of these. I'm not on this list. Or I can't find me!
I'm INTP, my husband is ISFJ. Father is ENTP, mother is ISFJ.
That's odd.
how is the interaction with the ISFJ?
That's me
I got 120 on a IQ test. Not genius for INTP
Scarlet Stark not genius, but well above average.
Scarlet Stark 20 points higher then average
I have the same personality as the Twilight chick?
I am INTP.
ESFJ
ESTJ our natural partner? Really?
ESTJ? 😅😅😅 Heh... No!
Yeah, I know what you mean.
There are some different theories about MBTI and best partners and of course, relationships are something we humans haven't fully figured out. (just think of the divorce rate)
In one of the 3 books, I that used to create these Myers Briggs videos ESTJs are listed as one of the best partners for INTPs - I know that this INTP ESTJ thing feels weird but there are some other sources like the compatibility chart someone mentioned. In that chart INTPs and ESTJs are listed as one of few 'ideal matches'

@cadnaan cdeh lol 😆😆😆
@M Rodlol lol
Socionics says the dual for INTP (INTj in socionics) is the ESFJ. I think ESTJ is a good friend to the INTP, not sure about romance.
Omg what's next are you going to do a video on zodiac signs ? It's outlandish enough of a claim that people fit into this nice little box of 16 personalities, but using it to find a partner?!?! Wow lol
