You know, Sinatra: It was extremely eventful and difficult Friday for me. I can barely keep my eyes open and I don't have any other thoughts except how tired I am. But 10 minutes of you talking funny things and shaving with good razor made me feel calm, peaceful and lightly cheerful. Thank for that! Really. All I want now is to shave with my Edwin Jagger and Astra blade and go to sleep. Amaizing how much you can give us by just being nice friend. I hope that our little community gives you something similar
I got a slim adjustable from razor emporium with the rhodium finish recently. Never tried a fatboy so can't compare but the slim is absolutely fantastic
I dont know man, growing up ive known 2 guys nick named slim that were cool as hell. One on my block as a teen and another in the military. Real tough guys. I have never in all my years met a cool cat named fatboy lol that was always more of a teasing name for the not so cool.
Great shave. The Slim is indeed a good shaver. I have 2 of them. One is a 1964 that is the 1st new razor I ever purchased, the other is a 1965 that I got for a H.S. graduation present. I still use both of them fairly regularly. For my beard and skin type, I find that my Slims are slightly more efficient than my Fat Boy on the same settings. I think the popularity of the Fat Boy is due to exactly what you said. The Fat Boy was produced from 1958 (D-3) until 1962 (H-1) = 3 3/4 yrs. while the Slim Adjustable was produced from 1961 (G-3) until 1968 (N-$) = 8 1/2 yrs. Fewer Fat Boys produced equals more demand, LOL. My perfect razor would be the Slim with a Fat Boy style handle diameter. Have a great and safe weekend.
My old man had the '58 FatBoy from the Marines in 58-62. Played with it so much as a kid. Tried shaving with it when I was 19 or 20. Didn't like it at the time. Probably didn't understand the dial angle setting enough then to get a comfortable shave. I think i had it on 9...lol. Dont know what my kid brother did with it from my Mom's medicine cabinet after both of them passed but I want it. Anyways was always a Mach 3 guy. Got sick of the cost. Took up or tried to take up straight razor shaving in my mid 20s since an ex gf got me a Dovo I wanted then. Back then very limited info on proper honing. All i had was Lynn Abrams instructionals. Got the Norton 1/4/8k combo. I would spend hours, days, trying to get an edge right. It would be tuggy but not sharp enough even after being stropped. My ex wife got me a silver tipped badger brush when we were first dating. I used it maybe 5 times in 10 years when we were married. Got a Fromm 72R straight. Still tuggy. So I gave up and just buzzed my face all through my 30s for 10 years and any razor action I wanted for either my face or manscsping was the Mach 3 cartridges. I learned to strop them on denim and leather along with my kitchen knives. I have cartridges that are over 15 years old. Lubricating strip gone but still maintained sharp. Now in my 40s. Anyways. My Wahl clippers crapped out in '20 and I just needed to maintain zero gap them right. But my autistic kid won't do haircuts. So I sought out to get some low decible cordless clippers Stylecraft Sabers and Edgers along with Oster 76's . Been on a barbering kick ever since. Figured out a great honing progression. Have done 50 vintage restorations and they all shave great. Filarmonica. DublDucks, Dovo, Wade and Butcher, Wolstenholm, Morley, Elliott, Sheffield, Palmera. A few nice framebacks. Have a Latherking machine. All kinds of soaps from PAA, Sterling, ILR, Proraso, Cremo, and more coming. Nice custom shaving bowls and scuttles. Even made a customized woodworking project to hold all my razors and soaps. Barber chair. Just scored 4 Gillette '62's DE Slims for $40 on Ebay this week. Tried it for the first time this Friday after i polished and cleaned them up. WOW! JUST WOW! WTF have I been missing? Best and smoothest shave of my entire life! Plain old 7 o'clock blades. On a 7 or 6 I couldn't even feel a weeks worth of hair being cleaved off my face with just a feather lite touch and stroke on my face. I had to double check in the mirror to make sure hair was being removed. I was BBS except in 2 spots after the first pass everywhere. Dialed it down to a 3, touched up and smooth as a baby's 🍑 Now I see what all the hype is about.
+6 month review... since finding your channel and switching from cartridges to DE shaving... I have not had a single ingrown hair in the last 3-4 month. It's like freakin' magic! Of course, I also switched to Barbasol as a quick shave option... Not adventurous - just sticking to different Proraso products because they are available and work great. Aftershaves - Pinaud/Clubman products.
IMO, the slim adjustable is THE go to vintage model for a de newby. The build quality is top notch. It can take some patience to find one in excellent condition at a low price; but it's worth it. I lurked on the auction site for several months before I found one that was listed in as found condition; meaning that it had not been cleaned up thoroughly. There is literally NO pitting on this thing. It cleaned up marvelously. I ran it through the dishwasher repeatedly, set it out to dry on a warm day, lubricated it with mineral oil. It's practically good as new. It is a great platform for dialing in the level of aggression that works for you; and for trying out a variety of blades. All of my other vintage razors are sidelined by this one. No comment on the fat boy, as I have yet to try one.
I've got both and like you, I don't know why the Fat Boy gets all the light. A 1963 Slim set on 6 with a Nacet blade is the best shave I've had to date. The Fat Boy is a great shave on 6 with a Nacet too but there is just something about the Slim. Used the Slim last night with Brut and almost wanted to go threw the entire shave a second time because it was so good. Great video as usual.
Same for me, i am 40 and have been a wet shaver since I started shaving. I own aggressive razors like the Fatip Piccolo, the R41, a few open combs, plus Gillette New, Fatboy, Tech, Aristocrat jr and the Flaretip. Recently i revewd my technique and blade combo with the Slim, Bic Chrome set on 6. What a terriffic shave! And the ones that came after too! So go figure, i was pleasantly surprised to rediscover this razor and what it can do when handled properly.
I loved the reaction to the splash! LOL My dad used Brut 33 and Aqua Velva. I might get one of each as I'm sure it will bring back childhood memories. Thanks for the video, it was awesome! BTW, I sent my first vintage razor ever to adjust and re-plate. It should come in this coming Friday and I just can't wait. It's a 1968 (N2) slim!
It's funny to see this video. I started searching for a Fatboy on eBay after watching your videos Sinatra. Ended up opting for a 1966 Slim adjustable and loving it. Watched a series of videos by Matt at Razor Emporium about Gillette adjustable razors over the years and he reckons the Slim adjustable was the pinnacle. This was when Gillette had the design and technology perfected.
I think there’s a happy medium for earlier model Gillette Slim adjustable’s because while they streamlined the process better with the Slim model… they were constantly trying to produce the same razor cheaper which leads me to believe that the earlier Slim’s would be ideal. I could be wrong though. I just bought a $60 E3 1959 Fatboy off EBay listed as *Excellent condition, fully functional* so hopefully I get lucky because the pictures look great
I have a 1962 Gillette Slim I just got off ebay and have been using it regularly. My first vintage razor. Now I am hooked on getting more vintage razors. Got the bug now1 Fell into wet shaving as a hobby. Oh well, it is less expensive than collecting cars and razors take up alot less space. Thanks for the videos. Been Binge watching many of your past videos while awaiting the next "fresh" video.
Ridiculed in the UK now Brut is. Used to get Christmas box packs of it in the 70's and 80's. I still like it, smells fresh and relevant to me even now.
Great video!! You are spot on with everything!! The Slim Adjustable is a fantastic razor, those Astra blades are incredible!! I tried them for the first time last week...they are now my absolute favorite!! I get three perfect shaves off one blade!! Those vintage pucks of shave soap still work wonderfully!! Thanks for demoing the vintage products. Things were just made with care back then. Jim G.
It's funny, really. I just acquired a gorgeous NOS 1966 slim off the Bay. It's sort of a tribute to my dad. 1966 is the year he would've turned 13, and the one I found was an L1, and his birthday is in February, so it's almost like I got the razor he could've gotten as his first razor for his birthday. I just shave with it for the first time yesterday, on setting 7, and Oh My Stars and Garters, that was the smoothest and most comfortable shave *ever*. That razor, on setting 7, with the made in India Gillette Wilkinson Sword blade, felt smoother than even my Merkur 34C. Even my 59 Fatboy isn't as comfortable. Absolutely unreal. The Slim definitely doesn't get the respect or love it deserves.
My gillette slim adjustable was my first ever razor. I love it. I also love my gillette fatboy. The slim is lightweight and easier to get under the nose. The fatboy for me is more efficient, I like the heavier feel of it, and the shorter handle. Both are good for their own reasons.
Same for me, i am 40 and have been a wet shaver since I started shaving. Years ago i bought aggressive razors like the Fatip Piccolo, the R41, a few open combs, thinking those aggressive razor would give me a closer shave. I also own the Gillette New, Fatboy, Tech, Aristocrat jr and the Flaretip. Recently i revewd my technique and blade combo with the Slim, Bic Chrome set on 6. What a terriffic shave! And the ones that came after too! So go figure, i was pleasantly surprised to rediscover this razor and what it can do when handled properly.
Just had my first shave with my 1965 (K-2) Slim Adjustable, amazing shave. Had it on setting 5 but soon moved it down to 3. I've been shaving with safety razors for about 3 years now, starting off with cheap Amazon multi-name brand razors, moving to the Slim Adjustable is quite the leap, and an amazing 26th birthday present!
I have a 1961 slim adjustable, and a 1960 Fatboy, both in excellent original shape. I switch back and forth. I find the Fatboy shaves a little more aggressively. One click more aggressive than the slim on the same number. My preference is the slim as it is easier to maneuver, and I like the longer handle. Love the vids!
I prefer the weight of the fat boy on my face but the slim is amazing to use anywhere below the neck due to the length and less weight allows better and “softer” control. Btw I’m a Spaniard so I have thick black hair for anyone curious about what I’m judging my shaving by.
I also have a 66' Slim Adjustable, it's my second DE razor and might be my last! Really underrated compared to the Fatboy! Great vintage video, i also love Brut! 😄
My Dad seemed to really like Brut in the 70's. As you've found, it's pretty stout smelling. After a time, Mom made Dad put it on at the front door before leaving for work, so it wouldn't "stink up" the house.
Yes, it is. Slim better than FatBoy that is. Both are good though. For some reason the two Black Beauties I have are not doing it for me, still too rough on setting 1-2.... but it had by a mile the longest production of the adjustable Gillette adjustables, so it must just be me I guess. I am amazed by the quality of shave vintage razors give. 100 year old Gillettes with an open comb and an awesome and mild shave. I shave mild, 3-4 on the Slim, but that one Old Type open comb is an awesome cool item in my razor rotation.
I have a Merkur Progress, and a Parker Varient. I can honestly say the Vintage Gillette Fatboy razor, and the Slim adjustable give me a far more comfortable shave than my modern adjustable razors. The modern adjustables shave just fine, but they are more aggressive, much more blade feel, and as a result just a bit of razor burn.
Nice shave, yes, use the brush more, and no more hairs comes lose. Blooming also brings out the esoteric oils and the scent. It would be even better if you soak it/blume it before taking a shower. Yes, slim adjustable is in many ways better than the Fatboy. I like the Old Brut also, scent is good and strong. Have a nice weekend.
Picked up a 1965 slim adjustable in its case with the original blades (no rust or tarnish) for $15 today. Cleaned the razor and it looks almost brand new. Now if only I didnt shave this morning..
Remember Eddie Murphy talking about Brut in one of his comedy tapes from the 80’s? 🤣🤣🤣. I remember visiting a museum with my parents in the mid70’s. We was looking at a mock up from a home in the 1890’s. My mom said “You wait, One day they will be making museums about how we lived today.” I just st laughed and laughed. I kept thinking who would visit a museum to see -Tracks and our Pong game from 1975 in the future..😉. IDK she might have been on to something.
Cool Brush! Once upon a time I had a grande revelation (after removing ear wax with Q-Tips). I discovered how well my Slim shaves. And now, you, too, know why Gillette replaced the clunky Fatboy with the better-shaving Slim! Viva la Q-tip!
Ive heard you mention the feather blades. Is that the same ones I see on Amazon or is that a general name? Just starting down this rabbit hole till I find my preference. Cheers.
Hey Sinatra, great shave! Love my slim as well. Brut is one of my personal favorites. It's funny you mentioned sex panther lol, my wife quit making me go into perfume and cologne stores because I would ask if that carried it lol! "Sixty percent of the time, it works everytime!!" Take care my friend
I haven't used the slim, but the Fatboy just looks cool. The slim just looks plain to me. For use, I personally prefer razors with a thicker handle, and the slim is more "slim" than the Fatboy. While the slim is probably a good razor, the chubby grip on the Fatboy is too comfortable for me.
Don’t talk up the Slim, the prices r going up as we speak💰Ref brut use to love it, don’t think today’s fragrance is as strong as it was. Another good vid. Cheers🍻
I have a 1960 H-1 Fatboy and a 1962 H-2 Slim both are great razors and deliver very BBS shaves when set on the number 7 setting. But hey Lennon would you say that old bottle of Brut was “Brut-al”????🤣
I just bought a slim and I was wondering how you clean it after a shave, do you just wipe it down, or do you blow dry it? I just want to know what to do to keep it in good condition.
I bought a knuckle brush at Maggards. It is boar bristle, IIRC. I remove the blade and brush the parts of the razor that are exposed to shaving soap under hot water. This keeps the nickle bright, and prevents any soap scum from accumulating. I store my TTO's with the doors slightly ajar, on my dresser with the short end of the head facing down... to dry.
Most of the Gillette razors are good. Gillette new open comb, tto non adjustable ones, adjustables and even Gillette tech. People talk about the Fatboy due to the weight. It's one of the most heavy razors Gillette made.
Slims are good....., I still prefer the FatBoy.... . Brut has 3: Cologne, Aftershave and Splash (descending smell concentration); and Dollar General has one for $1.84 that people say is closer to the original.... . The cologne smell lasts 12hr on my skin...I like it.....
Hi SL a nice Video like everytime, my favorite Kombination at this time is, my Fatboy with a Feather Blade and Proraso Red. Have you ever use Proraso red? Greetings from Germany Christian
Love my 1967 Slim Adjustable but I'll never go above the 5th position, it's to agressive for me. Well, never liked Brut old scent and the actual it's almost the same, so I don't spend money on that. Great video as always. Cheers
The slim was my first vintage Gillette. To be honest, I have a love hate relationship with it. I have the worst grain map and super sensitive skin so it's hard for me to achieve bbs without irritation. :(
Actually I prefer the Slim over the Fatboy but with not with an Astra blade I prefer either of these - Feather, Polsilver, Personna and the Rapira Platinum LUX - mind you I have been using the Super Slim adjustable (Black handle 109) quite a bit just lately also with those blades. I meant to add that after 50 it's a bit downhill with the skin in general so you need to be more careful now - me I am pushing 73!!
John, I just shaved with a Polsilver blade in my Gillette slim yesterday. That was my best shave to date. Smooth and sharp with no weepers. Which Personna do you use; US made lab or med prep, israeli red, or israeli blue?
Just ordered a Slim Adjustable on Ebay! Which blades would you recommend? I am also looking for a nice shaving soap, preferably without Carcinogenic content.
Don't slay me, shaving brethren. I'm growing a beard! But I do use the fatboy to clean up the cheek- and neckline. So it's alllll good. Sorry I haven't been commenting in awhile, SL. Been working a lot lately and not felt like checking in on shaving vids the free time I've had, haha. Good to see that smooth face of yours again. Edit: I received my very own SL synthetic brush and you were right -- the "backbone" is quite stiff and I really do enjoy the feel of it. It feels sturdy.
Good to see you again! Yeah, it’s good to take a break sometimes. I’ve had youtube channels that I stopped watching just because I felt that I’d seen enough for a while. Then I check back in every now and again. Just a part of life.
Im gonna use my slime on monday for the first time with some proraso green menthol shaving soap derby extra blade and some loreal after shave balm with Birch sap. I wonder if i start with number 1 for the first time what do you think?
Great shave as usual. I love the vintage based shaves. You asked what a videos of a vintage shave will be like in 50 years. It won't be the 25 blade heated Gillettes that make coffee and sings you to sleep and it won't be a Harry's or Dollar Shave Club kit. It'll be a guy using a 100 year old Slim adjustable or a 150 year old Gillette old style. Those things will last way longer than civilization. BTW- I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the Slim. Now I'm just waiting on the mail.
Hello SinatraLennon, I recently purchased the Wilkinsons safety razor (You reviewed a few weeks ago) as I wanted to get into using a safety razor. I just had my first shave with it and it didn't go well. All was good on my face, but I went to shave my neck and all hell broke loose. Ended up having to use my Gillette cardridge to finish the job. Will my skin get used to the safety razor? I have a very sensitive neck so I don't know if the issue was the blade itself or me having no practice. Thanks
Yeah you’ve probably figured this out by now but there is and adjustment coming from cartridges. When I switched I had the same issues and what I realized, is that even though you’re aware that you shouldn’t put pressure on the razor like a cartridge… muscle memory can have doing it without realizing it. Just touch the razor to your skin with the correct angle and then basically just pull straight down. Obviously being careful but it really is touching the razor to your skin at all levels and moving the razor parallel with your face.
Great video. Just subscribed. Love the vintage stuff. Been wet shaving for a while. I have new and vintage but always seem to go with the vintage. I’ll tell you like all of my friends say to me. “That guy really likes to shave” 😂😂😂
Hey listen folks Lot of yall saying Slim or fat in case of safety razor. What really matters exactly is Material and balanced length not too heavy & not too light. There are many heavy razors which you need to ensure balanced speed with. But light weights are more balanced in my guess because you control it not as your speed. The heavyweights are better for those who grow longer beards & want to shave with less irritations. Go for 70gram to 80gram razors in case you are confused of. But for stubble beards Lightweight is definitely best option. Different people might find it opposed. Whatever I said the acqurate I guess.
I agree, Sinatra. My 1962 Gillette Slim Adjustable is my favorite vintage razor. You can read all about my vintage razors here: bit.ly/2ALZluI. Have a great weekend, friend!
Just finished my shave today, using one of my Slims. I accumulated the usual assortment of Schicks & Gillettes and wanted a Fat Boy - got my chance with one in great condition & at the right price. It shaves just fine, but my Slims and Super Adjustables are more nimble and not as awkward as the clunky Fat Boy. The correct answer: The Slim is Definitely better than the Fat Boy. The Fat Boy has assembled a cult following among collectors and vintage shavers who have ascribed a mythical magic to it.
Yeah, I’m not quite sure where that absolute love of the fat boy came from. I do absolutely love a couple of mine though. I guess if you get a really good one and it speaks to you, then you start preaching to the masses about it.
SinatraLennon IS the world's only shirtless and bathroom bound superhero, He is BADGERMAN! I am only 41 and I do not need to "trim" my monobrow. Since my 30s I have had to engage in deforestation!
My theory: Brut burned You because of the slim adjustable - on equal blade gap Fatboy wins, it is slightly smoother in my experience. Speaking of vintage software I snagged some Old Spice body Talc, hopefully without asbestos :P Give a go to laser-etched astras, would You believe they are different? Almost as smooth as red personna
I just picked up the Fatip Special Edition and love it. It's the piccolo with both open and closed comb baseplates. Great shaves. 100% brass, great weight.
I guess the price of Gillette Slim razors on Ebay just went up $20. Since you gave your musical tastes I'll give you one of mine. Probably you won't know who I'm talking about, but I'm sure people in Europe and especially the U.K. will. Even though I'm in the U.S. I'm a big Status Quo fan. So when you going to dig up a bottle of Hai Karate aftershave? LOL
@@SinatraLennon My favorite is Piledriver that bought when I was in 10th grade, and I told you before I'm now 62, but they are still going. ua-cam.com/video/vUTEibPaYNE/v-deo.html

What a great comment, Pavel. Thanks so much for your kind words. If I can have some small positive effect on someone, then I’ve been successful.
the slim adjustable is easy to use like the cartridge razors. i don't own a fatboy, but the slim is amazing.
If you have a Slim Adjustable, you're already getting a better shave than you would with the Fat Boy.
I got a slim adjustable from razor emporium with the rhodium finish recently. Never tried a fatboy so can't compare but the slim is absolutely fantastic
The FatBoy gets more love cause it has a cooler name

I love the smell of modern Brut both deodorant and aftershave.

Ah yes, the Gillette Slim Adjustable. My daily driver and still my favorite razor, new or vintage. However, the Karve CB gets honorable mention.
Jim G.
It was a great experience for me!
I love them both, too!
I have a 62 and 64. slim. I like them better than my FB. By the way, have you tried CAD by Phoenix Accoutrements? Fragrance is Barbasol.
I haven’t tried it yet!
I had a shave this morning and used my dove white bar soap. A wonderful shaving lather. I was surprised how well this bar of soap lather.
Crazy, right?!
Maybe 1966 was a really good year for these Slims!
Same year as my dads birthday so it's a good year! 😄
@@SinatraLennon apparently all Slims are great shavers!
My Dad seemed to really like Brut in the 70's. As you've found, it's pretty stout smelling. After a time, Mom made Dad put it on at the front door before leaving for work, so it wouldn't "stink up" the house.
Ha!
Brut is such a classic. Im sure Mrs.Sinatra Lennon would love it...its the reason my wife married me!!
Gillette Slim Adjustable is my favourite vintage razor, great shave, enjoyed it :-)
I have a fat boy and a few slim adjustables over various date ranges. I bought a 1973 Q4 black adjustable and I believe it shave better than the rest.
I have both, and the slim gives a better shave than the fat boy. One of the best vintage razors ever made. I own three of them, to be exact.
So funny when you went for it with the Brut, I’m still smiling
Good Morning!! The Barbasol Brigade is reporting for duty!! Great shave!
Looking good, soldier!
Just bought a 61 G4 slim on Etsy for $30. Hopefully it works well...looked good in the pics at least.
I have some brut splash on. I love it and also some Aqua Velva musk which smells fantastic. Another fine video. Yes you're the normal guy shaver.
Picked up a 1965 slim adjustable in its case with the original blades (no rust or tarnish) for $15 today.
Cleaned the razor and it looks almost brand new. Now if only I didnt shave this morning..
Nothing like putting on one of your videos for a quick Saturday shave
The best shaving channel on youtube, no question.
Thanks! I’ll keep trying to make them interesting.
She was right!
Cheers.
Yep, Feather is the brand on Amazon.
Ha! Love it.
Cheers🍻
And now, it's the weekend...bye Bob, good good a super relax weekend...
I don’t clean it any more than just washing it under the tap water.
I bought a knuckle brush at Maggards. It is boar bristle, IIRC. I remove the blade and brush the parts of the razor that are exposed to shaving soap under hot water. This keeps the nickle bright, and prevents any soap scum from accumulating. I store my TTO's with the doors slightly ajar, on my dresser with the short end of the head facing down... to dry.
Awesome! Elvis shaved twice a day some times, have you ever done that SL?
I haven’t!
@@SinatraLennon Wouldn't that damage your face? I guess Elvis had tough skin eh.
I think both razors are top notch but I do prefer the heft of the Fatboy (1958 Rodium & 24cwt gold from Razor Emporium) with a feather blade.
Most of the Gillette razors are good. Gillette new open comb, tto non adjustable ones, adjustables and even Gillette tech.
People talk about the Fatboy due to the weight. It's one of the most heavy razors Gillette made.
Aesthetically I am drawn to my Gillette Black Beauty more than the Slim or Fatboy. For me it just looks cooler. But love all three just the same.
The black beauty long handle is my daily shaver. I like it more than the fatboy.
Greetings from Germany
Christian
I haven’t yet!
SinatraLennon you will love it. try it.
Once you break that brush in tho...I find the stiff bristles get a lather quicker
Love my 1967 Slim Adjustable but I'll never go above the 5th position, it's to agressive for me. Well, never liked Brut old scent and the actual it's almost the same, so I don't spend money on that.
Great video as always.
Cheers
Greetings from Turkey, from Steven and Linda who definitely live in Scotland😁
We could 'smell' the Brut from here!
Still in Turkey?! Might want to buy a flat. 😉
The slim was my first vintage Gillette. To be honest, I have a love hate relationship with it. I have the worst grain map and super sensitive skin so it's hard for me to achieve bbs without irritation. :(
Yeah, it’s tough sometimes.
How old were you when your beard grow full?
I’ve had facial hair off and on since I was in my 20’s.
I feel the downhill slide beginning!
John, I just shaved with a Polsilver blade in my Gillette slim yesterday. That was my best shave to date. Smooth and sharp with no weepers. Which Personna do you use; US made lab or med prep, israeli red, or israeli blue?
Every time I hear Brut, I think of the Eddie Murphy bit about lousy Father’s Day gifts. I’m sure you all know it 😂
Just ordered a Slim Adjustable on Ebay!
Which blades would you recommend? I am also looking for a nice shaving soap, preferably without Carcinogenic content.
Try BIC, Astra or Feather blades and any soap from Stirling or Taylor of Old Bond Street.
@@SinatraLennon thanks a lot for your tip! love the channel
@@SinatraLennon I think you're absolutely correct!
Im gonna use my slime on monday for the first time with some proraso green menthol shaving soap derby extra blade and some loreal after shave balm with Birch sap. I wonder if i start with number 1 for the first time what do you think?
Maybe try it on 3 for your first time.
@@SinatraLennon Okey!
@@SinatraLennon Now it is one more slim on the swedish website for sale:D
Great shave as usual. I love the vintage based shaves. You asked what a videos of a vintage shave will be like in 50 years. It won't be the 25 blade heated Gillettes that make coffee and sings you to sleep and it won't be a Harry's or Dollar Shave Club kit. It'll be a guy using a 100 year old Slim adjustable or a 150 year old Gillette old style. Those things will last way longer than civilization.
BTW- I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the Slim. Now I'm just waiting on the mail.
You’re exactly right! A one hundred year old FatBoy. Wow. Maybe my grandkids will make a video with Grandpa Grungy some day.
Wait a minute a razor that's heated, and makes coffee?! How did I miss that?🤣
That old cake of soap is a lather machine. Impressive.
It really was!
Thanks
The neck is always more of a problem. Go very lightly and only shave with the grain on your neck. Also do only one pass.
Hey! Glad you're here.
Trying the Neutrogena sensitive shaving cream with a walgreens 3 blade razor later this morning
Have you already try the Barbasol extra moisturizing with vitamin E shaving cream, before?
Maybe!
SinatraLennon they still sell them at Walmart and Walgreens.
I have the BB and the Slim when it comes to Adjustables but need to add a FatBoy to my collection. I know the head is bigger do the Shave is different
Gillette slim adjustable on 7 is the perfect shaving machine ever.
Agreed.
Hahaha, „Brian Home Alone“, GREAT!!! 😂
I agree, Sinatra. My 1962 Gillette Slim Adjustable is my favorite vintage razor. You can read all about my vintage razors here: bit.ly/2ALZluI. Have a great weekend, friend!
Your blog is well written, well illustrated and contains other interesting topics. Thanks for the link. Brad
Thank you,@@AcidRetroArtiboe. I appreciate it.
Black beauty 84 or slim?
The slim cuts me up and the fat boy never disappoints
Just picked up a black beauty off evil bay for less than 20 bucks 😮
1965 Slim is my daily shaver
SinatraLennon IS the world's only shirtless and bathroom bound superhero, He is BADGERMAN!
I am only 41 and I do not need to "trim" my monobrow. Since my 30s I have had to engage in deforestation!
Ha! It’s a task we must all endure.
Where I live in Oklahoma, there's only a couple of places that sells shaving soap pucks. One is an older drug store and the other is a grocery store.
I sent you an email , it's SinatraLennon@gmail.com right?
My theory: Brut burned You because of the slim adjustable - on equal blade gap Fatboy wins, it is slightly smoother in my experience. Speaking of vintage software I snagged some Old Spice body Talc, hopefully without asbestos :P Give a go to laser-etched astras, would You believe they are different? Almost as smooth as red personna
Great shave I got a slim adjustable for 10AUD the Brut looks interesting
That Brut is still potent!
Dang it, now I'm gonna have to look for a slim adjustable! What is this? is this channel turning into myth busters for razors?! :P
Ha!
Class video, as I am from Liverpool what's your favourite Beatles song
That’s a hard one! I love Don’t Let Me Down...but there are so many!
To me , the Slim Adjustable feels better when I do the Quarter Turn
Shame the modern Brut doesn't smell as good as the vintage.
I’ll have to compare the two.
I may be a day late, but this was one of the funniest episodes in a while. You were on with the jokes. Sex panther, it stings the nostrils hahaha
I knew that Anchorman reference would be enjoyed!

The Brut looks brutal!
It was!
Do you have a review on the Fatip razors?
I don’t have any of those...yet.
I just picked up the Fatip Special Edition and love it. It's the piccolo with both open and closed comb baseplates. Great shaves. 100% brass, great weight.
