I just finished it last night. I LOVED it. It made me so emotional. It was SO relatable. I'm also in my mid 30s. I love romance books with actual adults.
Me too!!!! I’m so glad you loved it. When the characters are older they are more relatable for where I am in life so I tend to enjoy it more and I imagine it’s similar for you!
I want to pick it up, because happy place is one of my favorite romance books. It felt so real, despite not knowing anything about the place she wrote. LIKE they actually had plot and not just oh the main couple is that and the others just come in conveniently. I felt seen. Funny story sounds like I'll enjoy it too
Another great review! I love how you fell in love with the book even more by talking about it. That’s how Just for the Summer by Abby Jimenez was for me (her last three romance novels were amazing by the way, and I think people who like Emily Henry will enjoy her writing style too). I enjoyed all of Emily Henry’s books except Happy Place (I know you loved it but it made me angry 😅) so I have Funny Story on hold with my library and I hope it will become my favorite from her. I agree that she is a master of weaving tropes into her stories that feel realistic. As for videos with spoilers, I would definitely love watching them if you make them! A big all caps spoiler in the front of the title would be helpful though, along with a time stamped list of books in the description so I can skip anything on my TBR. PS: I read Bride and our tastes in Ali Hazelwood books is definitely opposite 😂 I still have no interest in furthering my paranormal romance reading (I think anything more deep into that genre is going to make me uncomfortable) but I had fun reading Bride and will read any sequels as long as the kinks stay veryyyyyy surface level like this one lol.
Thank you!! I have a copy of Just for the Summer, I'm trying to squeeze time in to read it, so glad to know you enjoyed it too! ohhhh I can't wait to hear if you like Funny Story since you didn't like Happy Place, this is an interesting experiment. Thanks for the tip about spoilers, I'm thinking about how to work this into my video schedule. AHAHA you're cracking me up about Bride. Thanks for taking the time to connect through this comment, I really appreciate talking about books.
Most definitely a favorite ❤ PWMOV is my other favorite. I tried Book Lovers but didnt vibe so i think i will try it again and also get beach read and happy place. I loved Funny Story so much being someone in my thirties who works in the library in youth services and struggling with making friends as an adult. This story was just the right place right time for me
Oh I'm so glad to hear that .That's the beauty of reading, knowing you aren't alone and your experiences as some that others have as well. I'm glad that book felt close to home for you. Thanks for sharing!
I think the one big video of spoil reviews for all of the books you've read is a good idea! Having SPOILER in the name of the video and giving a warning during the video and waiting maybe 30 seconds before starting can help too!
Yeah maybe I’ll add this to my task list. There’s no way I can do it for all books but maybe the bigger ones. Food for thought. Thanks for helping me think out loud 😊
I have both the Hardback and Audio on pre order 🙀 I also have her other novels so excited for this one 🤗 In no way do I like spoilers as we all read different books at diffetent times for different reasons It is good to hear others opinions but I personaly would like to experince my own spoilers Just finished Megan Meranda The only survivors And see that your next vlog includes another of her books 👍
I love Emily Henry... PWMOV was the only one that was just OK for me, but all the rest have been GREAT... Book Lovers is still my favorite and probably should have been rated 5 Stars instead of 4.5... I should change that

I think you will enjoy this one!! Obviously let me know.
You are so cool ❤❤❤
Much appreciated
What are the ages of the main characters?
Great question, I'm not completely sure but I would say late 20's to early 30's
@@ryreads thank you for responding so promptly!
@@StarSnow1101 that's what I'm here for :)
33 for Daphne and 36 for Miles
You’ll like Abby Jimenez books too. More emotionally well versed. Not as much angst as Emily. Happy place was too angsty for me.
I've read two of hers and really enjoyed them. I hope to read her newest release soon!!
@@ryreads wonderful!
Is it spicy I don’t read spice
I would say a 1 out of 5 compared to what’s on the market. As a whole there a few adult scenes but it’s not the point of the book.
