0:45 Allen: You've got a hiatus coming up. What do you plan to do? Agnes: I'm going to run over to Spain and hang out with Orson Wells; I haven't seen him for a while. Wow!
I loved her clothes / the way she dressed. Her hair and makeup. Her voice was amazing, too. Intelligent, elegant, hardworking. 100% classy. I wish women were still ladies like Agnes. We won't ever see the likes her again, sadly. She definitely had a commanding presence. Doris Day quality person for sure
The reason the Chinese had so many laundries was due to the fact silk was invented and first produced in the far east so they became the best at cleaning and maintaining it which evolved into other fabrics that couldn't be soaked in water.
@@infonut No doubt! My point was that is unlikely that someone would come up with "laundry" as the first word after getting "Chinese" as a clue in 2021
Besides Elizabeth Montgomery, Agnes was my favorite character on bewitched. I felt kinda bad that Agnes couldn't think to say wolf for howl in the lightning round. I think Airstream is one word so I woulda used that for trailer
Agnes Moorehead was a great actress, remembrad as Endora in Bewitched, very talented. She died a year before I was born, but a few months ago I dreamed of her showing up at my house with the same outfit and style as her famous sitcom character, she mentioned my name and was about to tell me something when I woke up Whatever she meant, I don't know, I haven't dreamed of her again.
The year before Agnes died, she had a dream of something being invented called "youtube" where a man commented about having a dream about her. That must have been YOU!
Watching game shows like Password it occurs to me how touchy-feely (and more relaxed with kisses) the celebrities and contestants are with each other, when they guess a correct word. They seem much freer with each other back then. But perhaps I’ve become sensitised to overt displays of human contact as a result of the restrictions due to the pandemic.
People did touch and hug each other more often fifty years ago and in general, people did not think it construed anything unseemly. Even handshaking was more common. But I think all the sex and child abuse cases have made people afraid to ever show innocent displays of friendliness. Now days you can't even put a hand on someone's shoulder. It really is very sad. But people used to be happier too. It wasn't uncommon to hear someone whistling or humming or even outwardly singing. That just doesn't happen anymore.
But yet nowadays High School students are twerking on faculty at Homecoming festivities. Males are twerking and dressed as females and females are dressed as Hooter waitresses and serving beer.
I've always been entertained and fascinated by this show. Often it's luck if you guess correctly, unless the association is clear. Add some pressure and fear and it's amazing anyone answers correctly at all.
Maybe they could have said "Ginsberg " as in Allen Ginsberg "the howl "they still had beatniks then/ Bohemian types right? They were slowly being phased out in place of the flower children
She seemed to be quite fine with it, as must would've been with a friendly gesture of appreciation back then, and up until the 2000s when many of these customs fell out of common acceptance.
Agnes surely didn't look 67 there. Beautiful and classy for sure!! 💜
Moorehead and Nelson were a pleasure to watch. Good, friendly competition
Love how there's no flashing lights, just plain chairs, or crazy bulloney....just all game.
I love Agnes Moorhead. Her hairpiece is fascinating.
It's not her real hair? That beehive hair-doo was popular in thar era
They used to jokingly call it a birds nest.
You're too modest. Yours is much more fascinating.
Agnes Moorehead was a fascinating woman. To think, she died just 6 years later at age 73.
She died too young
Agnes Moorehead died 7 yrs. later on April 30, 1974.
6 yrs. But date is correct.@viktorgadany7595

There was an error on the show!! The word spelled was angel Agnes & Berry took it for angle!!
Agnes is so classy, even when the men are rude and interrupt her.
I don't know if Agnes and Barry knew each other before this was recorded, but they certainly had fun together all week.
Agnes was in full Endora mode when she guessed “tycoon” from the clue “millionaire.”
Agnes had some serious acting chops working with Orson Welles and Joseph Cotten.
Good point
Getting "laundry" from the clue "Chinese" certainly was a sign on the times!

The word was Lantern not laundry. Chinese lanterns are still fairly well-known today
as are misspelled words on yt
@@Widda68 It WAS laundry, get that wax out of your ears!!

@@faithfulforever6331 I very much agree.
Richard dawson was still hugging and kissing on family feud. I wonder why he quit the 💋

I was only 2 when this aired originally. Glad I could catch up this episode.😊
You were two? I was 68.
@@lynnturman8157 BS, so some 55 yrs later you'd be 123??
I just noticed that Agnes is wearing her diamond brooch as a necklace.
I think that is the one that she left to Elizabeth Montgomery.
@@randysills4418 Exactly! Agnes wore it often on Bewitched.
They just don’t come classier or more talented than the one and only Agnes Moorehead.
Isn't that the truth!! 💜 you Agnes!! ⚘️
If Agnes had said "wolf" the guy might have gotten the clue "howl." Nice try though, Agnes!! 💜
Kathleen D. Stokes, MD, PhD., FAAP - Frisco Pediatrics, P.A. What an extraordinary woman! I had the feeling she would go far!
This show is the most viewer friendly.
If Bernaise didn't solve the sauce puzzle I think Hollandaise woulda clinched it, I'm happy to see Agnes redeemed herself in the final lightning round
14:38 Angle or angel? I am confused!
I got so confused with “Angel” 🤪🤔😅
Who is "he" who said "angle". I only heard one person and they said "angel".
Apparently the word was "angle" but the word on the screen was "angel."
I never saw them get it wrong on the screen.
Good Catch, I saw the same thing.
For "trailer" my first clue was "tractor ____," and for "sauce" I was thinking "spaghetti ____."
Wow. Who knew John Dithell was from Linihan, New Jersey?
I wish they would've used either the word WITCH or MORTAL 😀
Back in the days when celebrities could actually appear on a show like this and remain serious without feeling the need to become stupid and comical.
Agnes was awesome in Twilight Zone.
For the word HOWL, she could have said "Thurston ______?" Gilligan's Island was already very popular in those days.
Maybe they could have said "Ginsberg " as in Allen Ginsberg "the howl "they still had beatniks then/ Bohemian types right? They were slowly being phased out in place of the flower children
...or wolf
I'm surprised she didn't use the word 🐺 for howl, however it's far too easy to critique others when watching from 🏡
followed by "lovey" if that doesn't work.
The contestant, John from New Jersey was good looking...
Gay crush???
Except for that tuft of Alfalfa hair that was sticking up on top.
❤ Yes, greg
❤ Yes, greg
❤ Yes, greg
Shame they didn’t get a Darrin for Ms Moorehead! 🤪
Angel not Angle!
I know, right? Angel is a celestial being while the angle is geometric.
I don’t understand how they played ‘Angle” when the word was “ Angel” and the contestant won with “Angle”. Odd rules, that “PASSWORD’.
Donna Douglas who played Ellie May on Beverley Hillbillies, was giving clues for “duck” when the word was “dunk”
Nothing to do with the rules. It was an obvious mix-up. My guess is they spelled it angle on the contestant's cards and angel for the viewers at home.
Yes I noticed it too.
MAJOR BLOOPER: The password was "ANGEL" - but Alan and the celebrities played it as "ANGLE".
i always thought agness was a hottie
Mrs. Ludden = Betty White!
On the lightning round the word "Howl" ---- clue shoulda/coulda been "Wolf".
+ noise.
wolf + noise = 3:47
Camera + light= 9:00
I don’t know if Agnes wanted her partner to kiss her cheek and touch her arm. 😳
I was just thinking the same thing 😆
The look on her face tells me she didn't appreciate the kiss and the arm around her shoulder.
She seemed to be quite fine with it, as must would've been with a friendly gesture of appreciation back then, and up until the 2000s when many of these customs fell out of common acceptance.
Too much familiarity for a classy woman of her generation.
ha ha...go watch Buddy Hackett. He actually threatens his password partner with physical harm if he touches him again.
Why was John out of color.
He seems so pale...
In those days, each show was only allowed so many pixels of color before they had to revert back to black& white. It was a budgetary issue.
