I love Carl and find his work on the question of Hyperhumanism extremely useful in light of Transhumanism. I appreciated the chance here to hear more of his story, his research, and his approach to life in general. Excellent to you both!

I really struggled listening to this to be honest. What is with all the unnecessary word salad in your questioning? DMT and psychedelics are fascinating but i really struggle with the seemingly mystical woowoo approach that so many people seem to have. To be open minded is to not jump to conclusions and try to avoid confirmation bias

What conclusions are being jumped to? Perhaps consider that the words are there to support an openness in framing and a magnification of the tension of the context of inquiry, precisely to avoid 'jumping' to conclusions and falling into confirmation bias. I appreciate the language can be tricky, and I have no doubt the thoughts could be expressed better. Nevertheless I encourage you to embrace the struggle, and thank you for your honesty.

@@Voicecraftsomewhat agree with the commentor. These are very challenging concepts but finding a way to speak your insights in a more succinct way especially as the interviewer would help to reach a broader audience. Challenge of our times

Agreed I found this interview confusing and hard to understand. It seems like there isn’t a common language to describe things and because of that explanations are incoherent. Also I was more interested to hear the stories from the Run DMT guy rather than the long word salads from the person on the right that seemed to jump around a lot and seemed unfocused . Maybe if the interview had more structure then more time could have been spent on more specific questions. For certain uncommon words it might be good to define them and share what they mean instead of assuming we all understand.

I don't mess with this stuff anymore. Thinking these DMT entities are benevolent I personally think is a huge mistake. Some may be, but others are definitely not.

It's very scary, and for good reason. There is absolutely no way to know what their motives are. The whole experience is so utterly alien that there aren't really any references that we would normally use to establish or glean safety. Instead we're faced with entities so advanced that they might as well be Gods. The asymmetry of the situation is very unsettling. To feel so powerless. More powerless than perhaps we've ever felt.
BUT... that does not mean they are malevolent. Even the love experienced in those states is scary in its power. The absurd scale of it is the frightening thing. It's a roll of a dice though, I agree. Still, nothing ventured...

this is why more advanced cultures that made pyramids and things we cant re create had death cults or at least an open acceptance of death "death is just the beginning"

Is Carl Hayden Smith trying to suggest if he were an unemployed middle-aged, person of color, he would have found it easier to get a job? It always surprises me how right wing people in these psychedelic spaces are
