@@DuchessOfStratosphere I used to think that, but then I saw all the political stuff he's been doing recently which is just a continuation of the nonsense the show has suffered through since RTD left. Then there's the Disney situation in which they purchased the distribution rights, and as such will likely have some say in the content.
@@jamescardus1960 I'm well aware of the politics RTD included in Season 1-4. That was done tastefully and with skill. Moffat's writing was fine too until starting in season 7, and moreso season 8 and beyond. Moffat's writing was essentially "capitalism bad, men bad, history bad" etc. Chibnall's writing was even worse with it being a continuation of Moffat's politics plus "England evil, white people evil, woman superior, trump evil, plastic evil, climate change super duper mega bad, " and so on. Now that RTD is coming back, I'm hoping his messages are not so on the nose. However, he has recently been espousing these "woke" talking points that both Moffat and Chibnal have been including. It's a common trend within the entertainment industry at the moment so is not specific to RTD. However, that does not change the fact I'm concerned that even with his superior writing that the show will still have the same messaging as season 8 onwards.
15 years ago damn how time goes by
If only the current iteration of the show actually marketed itself!
The current iteration isn't worth marketing. Nor do I have high hopes for the new iteration with the return of RTD.
@@MightyElemental why not? a lot of people, myself included, think that RTD will help to revive the show
