    Thank you times 1 million for this video. I was really struggling how to make this work for my team and this answered so many questions.

    What if I have 5 phases to a project and allocation hours for each phase is different. How do I set up those phases?

    Thank you for the video! Would it still be possible to go through the utilization process if you made the "Time Off" a date range - using a start date and a separate end date column on the "Time Off" table?

      For more robust needs like this, you're best served with building a script adds multiple "time off" options as per your timespan in a separate table

      @@GarethPronovost Thanks for the answer! Is this something you would be able to do a tutorial for?

    This is amazing, thank you! I have a couple of questions, for the times off how can I add multiple days (a week) in a single cell rather than do it per day. The other question is my airtable is not allowing me on the timeline view to move it like you, how can I do that? thank you!

      @Camila- I know it's an old thread. Just wondering if you found a solution to the multiple date issue. My team rarely requests individual dates, more likely they will request a week. I don't want them to request each day independently

    Thanks a bunch Gareth!
    I was following along beautifully and then at 11:21 you showed what appears to be a significant limitation to this AirTable resource planning system, that I can't see a workaround for. Only being able to allocate one resource per project.
    I would think this is fundamental. Most projects I think of, involve more than one person or other resources (eg machine)!
    What are your thoughts about this?
    Is there a fix to this coming any day soon, or should I just forget trying to use AirTable for this Resource Allocation purpose?

    • @GarethPronovost

      I think it may help to think of each record as a resource allocation, not as a specific project. In this way, you could have a separate table for projects that links to your allocation table. The allocation table stores one record for each resource that can then be linked to the project. I demoed this by keying in the project name, but in your case a link to a project sounds like a better fit.

    Thanks for this video. Another question is how do I manage the credits I made from referrals?

    • @GarethPronovost
      @GarethPronovost  2 роки тому

      Check out your account page in Airtable and apply the credits to your workspace of choice!

    Thank you! How do you know how long a project is going to take, and also how much availability they have? Love the tutorial - this Timeline view seems really cool. Thank you for breaking it down!!!

      Hi! The duration of the project really comes down to you and your business operations. As for the availability of your resources, that lives on the resource table and is looked up when you connect the resource to the project!

    I was waiting for this video. Thank you!! We could do this on the tasks table too right?

    • @GarethPronovost
      @GarethPronovost  2 роки тому +1

      Yes, exactly! If it's easier to look at tasks on a timeline, that's totally possible. 💪
