Hi there, Great UNIT, Cool video,
I wonder, I wanna have realistic Soundfont instruments like SAX, Trumpet Violin, Viola, and more, All sounds from 90.s are BAD, Very BAD! Where do i find quality like Multi Layered SF2,s,
And is there any Program That makes my VST s sounding good in SF2 Format?
    THANK YOU

Hi- totally agree, SF2 is an OLD format from Creative Labs soundblaster days. I brought a bunch of them from eBay where people had already converted their synths to SF2 format but it is limiting - no editing, portamento etc. I used Sample Robot in this video to convert VST sounds into SF2 and you can change the sample rate, polyphony etc to suit file size

@@stevebHD What would you say would be the best settings for sampling vsts using sample robot? Specifically the korg triton vst thats out now, id add some sounds on board.

I just sold my Korg Kronos 88 and Yamaha MOXF8; I'm very interested in the piano/EP sounds and key action of the S9 but without the motorized faders and organ stuff since I don't play organ on wooden keys and have other keyboards for that. The S9 is the only Dexibell with wooden keys at this time; the H10 and updated H7 home pianos with the S9 action won't be out for another year so I have to wait, buy the S9, or buy SX7 module and use one of my 88-note wooden-key boards!

    Good demo!
Where have you bought these SF2 files?

Hi - a mixture of sampling Native Instruments VST’s and sf2 packs from eBay! The trinity sound pack was about £4 and then some big synths also come with the Sample Robot software (about 800mb worth)

    Hi Steve
    Thanks for this informative video.
Is there any sound font websites you would recommend please?

Hi Jonathan. Because the SF2 format is Ooooolllllddd - going back to the days of Soundblaster cards, the majority of the freely downloadable soundfonts are very poor. I hit eBay at first, where there are packs to buy for Korg Trinity, Roland JD800... loads of synths. Then I used the software in the vid to make my own from my VST instruments.

And for creating soundfonts - definitely Sample Robot! samplerobot.com/

Br. JD hi - I left Yamaha in 2016 and now manage various brands in the UK - Dexi being one of them :)

Nice demo. Is this also possible with the S7 Pro? I'm guessing so.

    • @stevebHD

Hi Jon, it’s the same on every Dexibell model, even the home pianos and sx7 module as they all use the same engine. Easier to control on the S9 due to the faders but works just brilliantly on the new s7/s3 pro due to the increased hands on controls over the previous models.

@@stevebHD Great. I'm tempted by either S7 or S9. Do you gain anything with the S9 other than motorised faders? Is the action the same?

    • @stevebHD
      @stevebHD  5 років тому

Jon E. Chamberlain hi. Between the S9 and s7 you gain the faders and organ part from the j7 combo and some extra backlit rotary encoders. The action is not the same as it is the latest graded hammer hybrid wood action developed just for the S9 whilst the s7pro uses a graded hammer plastic board. Really playable though !

@@stevebHD Ah I didn't realise the S7 doesn't have the organ engine. Thanks for the help

    • @stevebHD

Jon E. Chamberlain still got a decent organ sound or five, but the S9 has the j7 combo engine so full tonewheel fun to be had
