Simon sounds amazing here. I love this song. John Taylor is conjurring up the 13 year old girl in me....cause I believe a little part of you inside of me will never die...
I assume this is the same tour as London Arena in Docklands - I seem to remember they were the first big group to play there, I know I went and at the time it seemed really remote and isolated.
Read their autobiographies. Both Simons' and John Ts' refer repeatedly to their over-indulgence, and while not explicitly naming cocaine, its pretty clear thats what they were talking about. I don't know of any reason why a previous cocaine habit would prevent somebody subsequently having a long career.
Maybe its just the because of the heat and apparent sweatiness, but I think SLB looks quite washed-out/ gaunt here; given it was '88, was this the accumulative effect of 7 years of the party lifestyle ie. too much C?
The sound on this is amazing! One of my favorite songs by DD. Thanks so much for posting this!

That last part of what you said is important. John has been clean and sober for over 25 years now and is still successful...
Back vocal, madamm?
Awesome song and could Simon be any sexier?!!!!
he looks like michael hutchence of INXS here...
