This game was obviously meant to be way more customizable. I don't believe for a moment that all the equipment we get are halos and scouters when the amount of slots are so big.
As much stuff that there is in the game, it's clear that there is a few features that were unfinished, customization as well as the costumes that change supers come to mind. The supers were highlighted pre release and then we got 2 in the full game. It's a great game but there's a few things that are a little disappointing
Destroyed Cell Games Arena should've been a stage. It felt weird because it felt completely unique in Gohan's story, don't know why they didn't include it.
They were probably rush by Bandai to release the game before they could fine tone all the maps that wasn’t included so they could release on the same day as Daima
What's unique about Gohan Black and confirms that he was probably going to be an unlockable character is that if you manage to mod him in as a playable character and pick Super Base Goku as your playable character and him as the cpu. Both in English and Japanese Goku has a voice line that is still in the game and is used on Gohan Black. He says- " Gohan is that you.... No... Who the hell are you?!? "
Seeing the tutorial stage again made me realize, they could fix local vs by just. Changing each stage to a debris free variant automatically when it's PvP !
That would suck - since the environment destruction is a big thing in this game (though it could've been better, imo), I don't want to have such an incredibly compromised experienced while playing local multiplayer. Worse graphics, smaller draw distance, a bit less destructible objects or smaller arena? Sure, that's understandable. But a flat stage with almost nothing going on in it would be lame.

Flat, boring with the only destructable thing being the Time Chamber itself, which you are near for the first like 30 seconds of a match. I would 1000% take what OP suggested over just the Time Chamber.
The half-destroyed TOP arena should've been avaliable if you blow up the TOP arena, like how you can turn Namek into Destroyed Namek. Maybe make it so that only DP 9 and 10 characters can do it, since it took God of Destruction Toppo to get it to that state.

Afaik every biped character in the game shares the same skeleton, so most animations will work with ease. (So for example, notice how there are a number of Emote animations which are usable for most characters, they work because of the same skeletal references) This means, despite King Kai, Zeno, Bulma, etc not being playable, they CAN be added as costumes to other characters. As for the stages, I'm 90% they work because of Unreal's .umap system (When any map loads, it loads from a .umap). Basically, the reason characters spawn inside of eachother is because the Menu maps don't have spawn locations for the players, so they spawn at 0,0,0. I believe the collision they use is convex based. (So it was automated) So realistically when the game has it's guts spilled completely for modders, it should be relatively easy to port over assets/maps from other Unreal games.
In-fact, as a side note. They could easily create 2P debris free maps by using the complete maps as a base and removing the destructible assets. It's confusing why they *didn't* do it pre-release but I expect an update to do such, if not a mod at least.
Why do so many games use this one engine! Heck Sc6 and Tekken use this Engine as well as Mk!(I remeber on the Pa2 Tekken , Sc and Dragonball all used different graphics engines!
Evolution blue should’ve been its own character 😭, kaioken just being a power up makes sense. also ssj2 trunks not being in the game is weird af too, and kale ssj2 doesn’t make sense as she didn’t do anything but shoot a single attack. I love this game to high hell but everywhere you look it’s like 99.9 percent perfect and then there’s just weird design choices older games would’ve never made

Blue Oozaru is hilariously awesome. If you have to unlock the power of the golden Oozaru first before you can go super saiyan 4, does this imply that blue Oozaru is required to go to some unkown Super saiyan god 3?
So every place in the game is coded as a stage for practical issues i guess. Same for npc being characters. Doesn't mean everything was meant to be implemented. Characters portraits for npc come for custom battle btw
I am 95% they will release those Maps as free DLC when either Paid DLC come out or whenever big updates happens I also think that the Devs were rush and couldn’t 100% fine tone all the maps for bugs probably because the owners of Bandai wanted Sparking Zero to release on the same day as Daima, so it make since why Kami House was so laggy since they still working on it.

Just cuz you added 30 more gokus vegetas and trunks doesn't mean it's really more characters. This game should have had every character from BT3 except maybe very minor characters like general blue lol. Where's piccolo daimo? Where's pikkon, super 17, nova shenron...
@skipe94 In fairness, they put a lot more effort into giving the characters that are in the game appropriate moves that are uniquely animated. Way too many BT3 characters had generic moves like "high speed rush" "energy volley". It's not just the blasts though, even grab animations are unique. It's really hard to keep that quality up without having the character overlap that we do. That being said, King Piccolo being excluded is a crime! Just make him a skin for Piccolo if they really want to be lazy (that might be worse, idk).

Most of the unfinished/unimplemented stuff will more than likely be finished as dlc, like Gohan Black/Goku (early) SS, more customizing options, etc

Hopefully those that paid for the Deluxe edition will benefit from a good chunk of dlc of what should have been in the game from the start.
