FYI for all you civis it’s very easy to fail your way upwards in the military, especially if you’re an officer. The general is clearly dodging the question because he knows that there is a correlation between us military training and over throwing the govt. He gives vague answers so that he won’t get demoted and lose out on the nice govt pension coming his way.

Syria, Niger, Iraq, Ukraine, a lot of small African, South and Central American Countries, but no Coup attempts . Since WW2, There has been a minimum of 167 attempted Coups in which the U.S was in Charge of.

Well, what happened was a $280M weapons and training package was sold to Niger under Trump in 2017 and 2019, and delivered to Niger in 2021-2022 when the photo was taken. No US personnel helped them overthrow their country, but we did sell them weapons under the agreement that we had to train them to use them correctly. Of course, when they do something like overthrow their government, they don’t receive US weapons replacement parts or ammunition, although they paid a premium.
The Gov't has been doing that for a very long time.
The defiance of this general is disgusting. Perhaps he's forgotten a key element of the military command structure: The military is answerable and accountable to the civilian government. This is not a banana republic, yet.
