Personally I like to set the volume after the drives. So if you're backing the volume pedal the drive stays instead of adjusting it's gain. I like to use the volume on the guitar to adjust gain.

Hello i would like to ask you a tip, i use the pod commanded by the change program from cubase but between a change of patch and another or bench (not single effect inside the patch) there is a slight delay and while sound you hear A slight silence between a change and another. I noticed that this does not happen, opening the edit, patches without the asterisk alongside that are just the new tones without effects, but as soon as I make a small change, the asterisk appears and Here comes my problem. I hope you have a good advice to give me. Thanks for your video.

I just got this board. I LOOOVE the particle verb. I have the dwell up pretty high and the gain as well. And the mix is just high enough to eliminate the “flick” of the strings when I touch them. So I’ll play triads and inversions of chord progressions. It really gives it a very synth/keyboard swell sound.

I just downloaded it. Just right click on the blue box says "Line 6 POD HD500x Patch - HWY500" after youre done purchasing it. once you've right clicked on it, click on "copy link address" and then just open a new tab, paste that link address in the address bar and it should download. It worked for me.
The problem is the lack of DSP on the zoom. Look up the Zoom DSP chart and you'll realize you really can't stack very many effects. Also, you only have 4 switches on the zoom compared to 8 on the POD. Though the Zoom does sound better to my ears.
That's interesting. I found the zoom sounded much less defined but it was easier to get tone with all the annoying frequencies the pod has. If you tweak the pod enough i feel like the sound is superior. I exchanged the zoom and re bought the pod.
Just bought a uszed HD500. I'm still trying to figure out what makes the HD500X different (other than different looking stomp buttons. Will these patches work with the HD500 or only the HD500X?
Christian Cepel There's basically no difference other than updated footswitch buttons with them nice leds and ~20% more dsp power for more room for complicated signal chains I say it's well worth it imo
Christian Cepel but yes any patch made on an hd500 will work with the x but any super complicated patch made on the x (two different amp models and plenty of effects) probably won't work on the hd500
A guy named Christian Arnold made a great comparison demo with them a few years back here on UA-cam that really showcases the practical differences. Like Jimmy said, a lot of it boils down to the HD500x being able to handle more stuff in stereo, so if you're gonna run in stereo, I'd definitely upgrade when you get the chance.

I've really been surprised that Line-6 hasn't seemed to make any of this information available (It took me a lot of searching to figure out that POD meant nothing more than the first-time-out-of-the-gate product in this line was a little eccentric shaped POD). I'm not fussed with stereo (we run mono) excepting for doing a mic + guitar. I was able to import the PHD 500x patch from WorshipTutorials, but then, like you said... it cried uncle when it came to the DSP. I was able to screen capture all the components and then create a new patch for the 500 that had all the elements that were important. I think all the same elements were able to be added, but starting from a fresh patch and adding them one-by-one seemed to rid me of something 500x related. Oh that shimmer! I'm finding myself more than a little disappointed at how the 500 handles two inputs. In some parts of the software it talks of two discrete inputs, but when it comes to creating a patch the only thing I could figure out to do was to pan them opposite one another. While completely unclear and not intuitive, it worked... but I do wish there was a way to control what is sent to just the headphones so one could use the thing as a dual mono input/output while hearing both inputs in both ears of the phones. Anyone able to tell me why my MOOG E3 Expression pedal can't be used with this board? If I put the knob on the pedal up to just short of Max by micrometers, I can get it to use the pedal as an on/off switch. 0% = off, 1%-1005 = on. I've yet to figure out what the knobs under the POD HD500 logo 'do'. They don't seem to alter anything. I figured they'd attach themselves to whatever amp is in the chain, but nothin' doin'.
#Projector Change the patch file extensions.....HD500 file extensions are ( .h5e ) HD500X extensions are (.5xe) So rename the file to .h5e and then load into your HD500........... Bundles are .h5b and .5xb Whole setlists are .h5s to .5xs
I just received an HD500x. Plugged it in last night. No sound. Do they work right out of the box, or do I have to select which inputs and outputs via software. Even the headphones don't work.

Hey, can the Pod be used with another brand of amp? I plan on eventually saving up to get a better amp but I am looking at using the Pod for more of an effects/switch board and not using amp models. Please reply back. Thanks!!!
+Nikita Khrushchev Pod can be used with any amp either direct or via the FX return. You will need to change the amps and cabs in the preset but your amp could sound like any amp using 4 cable method.
I downloaded all these in 2024 and for some reason they sound awful. I don’t know if it’s something about the latest firmware or what, but I just can’t figure it out. Tried turning off the global eq and everything.

I finally got it to work, albeit, intermittently but I had no idea what I did. So, I became frustrated and returned it (via mail) and purchased a Boss ME 80. Granted, I probably should have been more patient, but you only get 30 days with Sweetwater to return something, and I already had it for 2 weeks (before I even tried it, so busy with songwriting) But, the ME 80 meets my needs, and it's a bit easier to use, ie, all knob based. But I know the HD500X is a more superior unit. Now I'm thinking I should have purchased the Boss GT-100.....aaagghhh, it never stops!

I am stuck between those exact 3! Im considering the me-80 for the same reason as you also I used to have a boss me-50 I’m used to it... but the line6 500hdx can do so much more but seems complex. I wasn’t crazy about the me-50 it sounded too digital that’s why I switched back to analog pedals for my main ones... I wonder about the sound quality on this one... I went to guitar center to try them out apparently they don’t have demos out like they used to. I’m going to dam ash tomorrow... let’s see
After downloading you just double click on the file and it will be added to the software and if the pedal is connected it will sync the patch...will go under Best of HD....

Use either the XLR out or the 1/4 mono out jacks. Either way sends out the same signal into your DI box.

You can't download patches like these for the floor pod plus. The plus is way more limited than these new systems.

+jeffrey monroe Common mistake is to think the end socket is for guitar. This is for expression pedal.
