- A photo was recently of Trial Blogger Infamous Sylvia posing with Prosecution witness Kenneth Copeland aka Lil Woody and it has raised concerns about how the coverage of the YSL trial will be viewed by the public.

I wouldnt have my daughter hugging a accused morderer. Thats insane ive never seen any reporter doing anything like this.

UA-cam has made it possible for people to claim they are of a profession that they have had no formal training or mentorship in. A rapper or singer thinks they're a true artist if they load a song that goes viral, the Instagram "model", people doing skits and now consider themselves comedians. It used to be a goal to get a degree in journalism or communications, land a dream internship out of college to become the next Wendy Williams or Oprah Winfrey, now anybody can have a podcast and consider themselves a host. You used to have to have earned an actual degree in psychology to be a counselor that gives advice, specializes in relationships, but now everyone's a relationship guru??
It's the same for your industry. Miss Sylvia is not a professionally credentialed journalist so you really shouldn't expect her to behave with the same professional decorum.
I understand wanting to preserve the integrity of your profession. But she is not a journalist with a UA-cam page. She's a UA-camr whose hobby is to follow and comment on cases, so her intent is completely different, it's to gain followers. Going down to her level, to speak about a non-journalist, on how she should behave as a "journalist" is like giving her credibility.

This picture is an act of conduct unbecoming. For whatever reasons….I.S. refuses to conform to what’s accepted as right, fitting, or in good taste. Especially as it relates to her being a courtroom blogger.
Seeing this picture gave me second hand embarrassment. She really should practice ethical responsibilities when interacting with witnesses. Instead of using her best judgment to avoid conflicts of interest, she’s drawn toward conflicts of interest.

She is light years away from being an actual journalist, but since she's desperate to move like one, she should follow the same ethics, professionalism, and decorum as a journalist. Being granted permission to be at trials to report their machinations is a privilege that should be revoked since she won't respect the court.

But she doesn't work for a media outlet. She is not held to the professional standards nor code of ethics. Therefore, she is not in violation. She is a blogger, not a journalist. There is a difference. She can interact with different people because she is not a paid professional. Some people prefer regular people and that is their right. I am a substance abuse couselor and mental health therapist and I understand and recognize that some people don't want to receive therapy but that does bot mean that they wont talk to another person that they feel they have a connection withand that they feel they can trust.

Exactly, at the DNC. That's typically when it's done. We don't understand how we join in on the added pressure black professionals feel. Does anything change knowing the full story theme of the church event was "we are family" invite one to invite one and she was invited... Just asking i see both sides . yes she covers the trial but she also independetly covers this case and therefor makes her own decisions and does not have to obide by law and trial and court tv ect. However i do feel she should play it safer for the cause of thr greater good for all media but she does run her own show and in doing so maybe she felt going to church with this dude outside of being a star witness could impact his life outside of this case

Watching the replay-because of the not-so-great relationship between the two of you, I would have let someone else address that issue or let her suffer the consequences. Would what she's doing affect your covering of the case? You don't tell her what she should do, but you tell what you've done for her 🤔 messy. What you two do gives you both views whether you agree or not.
