Man, when you think about it, Katsuo's probably so fucked after this. He's just become the laughing stock of the academy for getting beaten up by a poor kid, and then his dad dies, taking away his patronage at Arasaka. With a tarnished reputation and no one backing him, his chances of getting anywhere in the corp are pretty much zero.
David just destroyed this kid's life, lol.
Wrecked that man's whole career. 😅
Looking back at this, I just realized the parallelism between this and the ending. David says the same last words to both his first and last enemies "like I give a shit"
If THAT is a "poor people's apartment", then damn, the dystopia is current NYC lmao, but we don't even have cool cyber implants so it's even worse of a dystopia
The problem of the modern world is that we have all the negative trappings of a cyberpunk dystopia (comedically corrupt governments, environmental collapse, mass surveillance, incredible economic disparity) but none of the positive ones, like virtual reality, cyber implants, or cool noir robot detectives.
@@CamiloFHSC None of those things are positives in a cyberpunk world either, a consistent theme in cyberpunk is how the society corrupts the function of technology. Most of the scifi stuff in that universe just contributes to the misery of living there.
@@yuehan6711 Well cyberpunk is inherently dystopian. Life will suck and it'll never get better- but if that's gonna be the fate of the world, at least give me the shit that looks cool!
Two words: Fully deserved. I'm pretty sure viewers are definitely cheering for the bully to get a taste of his own medicine.
the strength of the Sandevistan in David is the best and it did destroy his face haha. 👏👏 💀 👀
And thus David's ascent into the heights of True Badassery had begun.
David gets his salty run back you love to see it

"Like I give a shit"
Favorite line lmao.
Also, at 1:25
When someone from the Movie Fandom who's either a wannabe film critic/reviewer or a sympathizer for both tells me it's wrong to enjoy movies without acknowledging the flaws XD

First thing to do with your Sandevistan
Enter your house in a bright yellow blur of chaos and then sit on your couch in complete silence for 5 seconds
sounds like my kinda entrence
1:18 Also David's last words
Paytime always hits different 🤣lol
In breaking news a student at Arasaka Academy has been expelled for assaulting another student. David Martinez recently lost his mother in a drive by shooting conducted by the criminal gang known as the Animals and Katsuo Tanaka, another student and known bully, mocked his mother’s death and said that he should drop out and the same would not happen to him. Enraged, David equipped himself with a military grade sandevistan and severely assaulted Katsuo. The Academy Board expelled David a mere hour later and Katsuo is currently recovering in hospital. David Martinez has also refused an offer to return to the academy on the condition he apologise and has been reported to have become a mercenary.

0:57 bro got fucking folded like an omelet
That arrogant gonk got what he deserved. Katsuo should have known better than to mock the death of someones parent. Even Katsuo's father pretty much said "Yeah, my dumbass son deserved that.".
I knew that David installing the Sandy sealed his fate, and was a bad decision overall but...like everyone, I was looking forward to THIS scene.
@@jesseangreen9613 Sandy was the only reason he joined a gang that lad to his death because he met faraday
@@jesseangreen9613 he never would of met lucy kiwi or faraday if he hadn't used the sandy
@@jesseangreen9613 Well if david never installed the faulty hardwire from the ripper doc and his mother never had to drive him back home because the teachers called her katsuki would never have talked shit about a mother who never died David is a victim of his own bad choices
Kenshiro's signature shout out from Fist of the North Star.
0:33 A-TA-TA-TA-TA.
David: Owae Wa Mou Shindeiru.
Nani?!
I feel like David is mentaly saying sorry to his mother in that last scene. It really hurts.
The only true dumb mistake David did that sealed his and lucy's fate for the remainder of the series, it brought Arasaka's eye on him (which started considering him as a valuable test subject for the cyberskeleton) and that spilled on lucy, with Arasaka getting a hold of her and finding out she was once their property.
Sometimes a somewhat childish decision ends up bringing dire consequences for you in the future.
We want more Cyberpunk!!!
a live action series about the corporate wars for example would make for a great story
a longer running anime like Edgerunners would be much appreciated as well
Live action adaptations are not good.
@@thechlebek901 im sure something like the style of west world would really work... This is not an anime adaptation... Just an ordinary live action series like the Witcher
I would like to see live action with original story which is held in cyberpunk world, like edgerunner.
I think this anime could tell story’s about every night city legend and edge runner per season kind of like a anthology series,
There will be a sequel to the game, presumably about the next corporate war in the year 2078-2080
Talk Shit, Get Hit... That's one lesson I learned in life.

Still bleeding, right from Doc to that guy's face. David is a legend.
"Do you know who my father is?"
We sure know what happens to him.
And what happened to his body after

The beginning of a legend
Before I watch the anime I thought David might just be a punk protagonist, but end up David is actually a nice kid that study well surprised me.
You gotta remember he’s moving at mach speed atleast so all that force would end up doing just as much if not more damage to somebody if they were to get hit at the momentum and speed so it wasn’t exaggerated that the dude went flying 🤣 you can even see another example of this when david bum rushed a fully chromed out tiger claws when he was about to stab lucy don’t know if this was a added detail or not but I love the mini realism to it
Honestly, I'm surprised that didn't knock that kid out cold if not more. 💀
"You're so fucking gone!"
"So what you're saying is...I have nothing to lose by kicking you 20 more times."
David may have changed entire trajectory of the story if he had not believed the fake call from Lucy and instead just left the cyberskeleton there for Millitech to grab and gotten the hell out of dodge.
David's cybernetic spine augmented his physical abilities.
David: 0:55 Shut the [bleep] up, [bleep]!
1:07 David in this moment be like: wanna cry ?
David has one hell of a right hook
David literally had no purpose goals or ambition kinda just did whatever he thought would push something forward never really cared or did anything for himself either. Kinda always just went with the flow
So I just noticed this by counting but if you time the point where David fires up his sandevistan and count to when it stops, it's 10 seconds. There just so happens to be a sandevistan in the game that also lasts 10 seconds. I know a lot of people probably caught that when rewatching the anime but I just wanted to point it out for those who didn't notice it 😂

The dub is so damn perfect. Voices sound right 👍

david: ye that main's punching bag right?
Imagine if this anime had 2 more seasons with a nomad and corpo as the protagonists for each season and katsuo as the corpo protag
David went from a Santo Domingo street kid to a Night City legend. Aim high and go out with a bang.
So this is how school fights are in the 22nd century. Wicked.
Cyberpunk edgerunners take place in 2077 which is still 21th century loool

I like how he repeats the, "...like I give a shit" line when he's in the reverse situation vs Smasher

Second season wheeeen ? With David and Loli alive ofc KKKKKKK
The sad thing about this is that even after everything, Katsuo most likely goes on to live a normal, uneventful life.
I mean, his dad got killed so he's probably living in the streets (hopefully).
David became a legend, while this nobody snob became nothing. That punch was satisfying. 😄😄👍👍
Tanjiro had enough of Zenitsu's shit and stole thunder breathing just to spark him
Dam you beat me to it , I was gonna comment something similar 😂
Has anyone ever considered the physics of a Zandevistan? I’m not very smart, but I know David moving that fast and then punching him must’ve transferred an absurd amount of energy. It’s no surprise he got sent flying into the screen from that single hit.
and considering these physics plus the fact katsuo was hospitalized for around a month after this, he likely suffered *BRAIN DAMAGE* in addition to the broken nose
