I do see this channel recommended regularly in comments on reaction channels that are doing LOST, with the caveat of course, of waiting until they finish the show all the way through. I know I myself have recommended it many times.

      I would love this to happen but I have no faith in today’s quality.
      Streaming services/tv channels are churning out new shows constantly and then cancelling them after a season or two, just hoping one will “catch” and be a success.
      They’ve given up on what makes shows good and are only looking for profit. Call me cynical, but I’d worry that they’d release “LOST 2.0” with no interest in making it good, but only to cash in on its name.
      It’s what’s happening with Star Wars; there’s constantly a new Star Wars show being released but none of them are fantastic, but mere luke warm cash ins that are shadows of its former greatness.
      And the people that missed out on the good shows of old, that don’t watch them because they are old, don’t realise how bad a lot of modern shows are.
      I had no intention of writing so much when I started this 😂 so sorry about that 😅

    • @deandejaguar
      @deandejaguar 7 місяців тому +4

      Whilst I agree, I would say that if you need to watch 6 x 2h+ videos in order to understand a 6-season show, it's not exactly excellent writing. I don't want things to be overly-simplistic, but at the same time, when things are purposefully obtuse to be "complex" then something has gone wrong in the process.

    • @LOSTEXPLAINED108
      @LOSTEXPLAINED108  7 місяців тому +13

      @@deandejaguar With respect, I totally disagree with your assessment here. There are people who make 30-minute videos deconstructing the plots of Christopher Nolan movies and his movies only tend to run for two to three hours. LOST was *100 hours* of story. You cannot begin to deconstruct it all in one video, that's simply neither fair nor realistic. And the show had a lot of narrative convolutions as a result of having to stretch out the storytelling for the first three years because they had no end date, so that adds to the complexities of an analysis. It's not a case of the writing being good or bad, just beholden to the time in which the show was made and how it was made. I actually resent the implication that simply because I make long analysis videos exploring the nooks and crannies of a long-running 120+ episode narrative with a huge mythology that it is somehow evidence, in and of itself, of the show being bad or incomprehensible.
      Would anyone expect one or two videos to be sufficient enough to explain the complex worlds and storylines of long running book series like The Dark Tower, or Game of Thrones, or Discworld? The answer is no, you wouldn’t expect that. Star Wars and Star Trek get in-depth video series exploring every aspect of their universes on the regular, getting into the deep lore of each universe. Are those video essays proof that those narratives were poorly written or too purposefully convoluted? No, they are not. Yet both LOST and the fanbase's work in analysing the story is held to this bizarre higher standard. If you can’t explain LOST in one or two shorter videos then it is somehow evidence that it is disastrous mess that does not add up. I think that is a totally unfair metric to use on this channel or the show.

    • @deandejaguar
      @deandejaguar 7 місяців тому +2

      @LOSTEXPLAINED108 I'm speaking for the vast majority of people who watched the show and went "wtf" at the end - there are better ways to get your points across to a broad audience than the way that Lost presented itself to the public.
      I love the series but even I was dumbfounded by the final season, and having to go online to have someone explain time-travel theories, physics and meta-physics, and spirituality before you can even begin to understand what the show is about is bad storytelling on the part of the creators. Now, might be that so much content was cut for time is the reason that this is the case, but either way if you write too far for most people to get what you are trying to convey, then it is your fault, not the viewer.
      My gripe is not with your videos but the shows writing, pacing and explanations (or lack thereof)

    • @LOSTEXPLAINED108
      @LOSTEXPLAINED108  7 місяців тому +9

      @@deandejaguar You can only speak for yourself and not the vast majority, unless you can back it up with evidence beyond your own disappointment and prior echo chamber interactions. I can prove you wrong by pointing out some hard data. We have aggregate sites that tell us exactly how critics and audiences felt about LOST both in terms of its finale and the overall experience (IMDb, Rotten Tomatoes, MetaCritic), and the aggregate ratings are high. Compare those same aggregates to those who hated the Game of Thrones series finale. It's night and day. Furthermore, a recent statistical analysis was carried out to actually get to the bottom of which series finales were considered good and bad, and LOST turned out to be one of the good ones, much to the surprise of people who share your view. Here's the link to the study: www.statsignificant.com/p/which-shows-got-their-finale-right
      Was the final season and finale divisive? Yes, it was. I'm not saying you are alone in your criticisms. There are plenty of comments and articles bemoaning how things wrapped up (but also plenty of comments and articles praising it). I'm just saying that is not "the vast majority" and that you really need to get out of this mindset: "Because I think it and saw people who agreed with me, then therefore everyone thinks and agrees with me." It's a Mandela Effect thing. If you do decide to take up that mission of seeking out the objective general reaction to LOST then do your due diligence and research a bit further. It won't take long!
      As for needing to have the whole series explained to you... not everyone does. Some people only need certain pieces of the mythology clarified and some just enjoy deep dives into a show that they loved to see where they agree and disagree with the interpretations, while others like to re-experience the show via video essay analysis and pick up on details they might have missed. It's a broad church of fans and casual viewers on here. I have found from my time doing this that many who come here needing the entire show explained in detail probably only watched it once. A lot of the data/answers come from re-watching the show. Like re-reading a really complex sci-fi novel to fully grasp it, or watching a Chris Nolan movie more than once. You don't have to rewatch it to get the gist of it, of course. Some people understood enough first time and moved on. But, I think, to really appreciate the levels LOST was operating on, watching it more than once is a net benefit to the experience.
      Understanding things like the time travel and metaphysics are for the hardcore geeky viewers, not the casual audience. All the casual viewer needs to know about time travel by the end is that the past was not changeable: whatever happened, happened. You don't need to know about the ins and outs of compatibilism or determinism to enjoy it lol. And not everyone needed to understand every aspect of how the metaphysics worked. Because some viewers only cared about whether or not Kate and Jack would end up together, and were invested in the character relationships and love stories, while others just wanted to see the action and enjoy the crazy twists. Like I said, LOST audiences are a broad church, and many were in it for different things. Videos like mine cater more towards those into the hardcore geeky details.
      LOST was ahead of its time, as were the writers. They created the modern TV show as we know them today. They absolutely encouraged rewatches from season to season, and that expectation was no different by the time it ended. It wanted us to keep talking and rewatching. It was Dark before Dark existed on Netflix, which you could also complain about being too complex to follow or fully understand in one sitting. But so what? Does every story need to be easily digestible in one sitting then never thought about again? There are plenty of shows for that - thousands in fact. LOST, from the start, told us it was going to be challenging and ambitious and crazy and make us ask questions. And we had to keep up with it or tune out. And those that couldn't get on with it, did tune out. But those of us who stuck to the end still talk about it today, whereas those thousands of other shows that were easily digestible have faded into obscurity. No one cares about shows like Desperate Housewives anymore. What LOST gave us was not bad storytelling. It was pioneering what TV would become.

    • @deandejaguar
      @deandejaguar 7 місяців тому +3

      @@LOSTEXPLAINED108 Hard evidence? Really? The fact the ending is still being parodied and taken the piss out of (the big one that stands out is the Joker in Arkham City) shows that the vast majority of people DID NOT get the ending to Lost at all. Taking "aggregate" scores from the Internet and then trying to use the review-bombing of GoT isn't hard evidence either. Critics and viewers change their minds wildly over time, and yet people still to this day do not understand the ending - not just weren't happy with the way things happened or it was ambiguous - it was batshit! The fact that you have had to write 6 paragraphs and made 12h of extra content to and explain it proves my point.
      Again, I love the show and I am enjoying your videos to help me understand it better but as I said - if you have to do much homework to understand something, maybe the writers didn't get the best results from the ideas they had down to translate it onto the script.

    Of all the ironies based on the time travel causal loops, I like the irony of Ben becoming "evil" as a child, or losing his innocence being a direct result of Jack refusing to save him. Which leads to so much of his own and many others' suffering in the future. But in particular it's the cause for the deepest betrayal by Kate in his eyes, her having sex with Sawyer, then her begging Jack to save Ben's life to save Sawyer. That betrayal gutted him.

    After finding your channel and pulling out my Lost DVDs 📀, I think the Others killed Dharma Initiative is because they were messing with time travel and kept moving the island 🏝️ which harmed it. As mother told her sons man would always want more of the light. Maybe when Dharma moved the island with the polar bear was the last straw. With the incident which caused Dharma to build the hatch which almost destroyed the island…testing the wheel theory with polar bear was the last straw since they didn’t learn their lesson and would keep pushing the limits with the island 🏝️. Doing that test broke a key rule with their truce with the Others. I think this is similar to when mother killed the MiB’s people when he tried to build a wheel 🛞 to control the light and move the island. I think his mom should have explained why they should not move the island since it damages the island vs just killing everyone. Just another theory 🤔

    Something I've always found interesting is that often the things that the Island instructs players to do are also held in disregard by the Island itself. The Island guided the Man in Black to construct the donkey wheel, yet it is still considered a grand offense to turn the donkey wheel and move the island. The Island isn't against directly contradicting itself, which is super intriguing & intimidating to me. Another example would be Jack getting sick in season 4 while trying to get everyone off the island. Obviously everything happens to play into the weaving of the tapestry, but that's just it - Jack was playing the role he needed to play, yet he was still punished by the Island for it. The logic seems to be even though the events you face are predetermined, you're still held accountable for how you choose to act in those events - the determined outcome doesn't matter, the consequences of good or bad actions are still felt. Eerie yet amazing.

      When Ben shoots Locke in Season Three, the bullet passes right through him. Locke later explains that he'd probably be dead if he "still had a kidney there." I think a similar argument could be made for Jack's whole appendix episode in Season Four. At the time, it does seem like the island is causing Jack to get sick, to either prevent him from getting everybody rescued or otherwise "punish" him for it. But in the end, it could be argued that having his appendix removed allows him to survive being stabbed by the Man in Black long enough to satisfy his ultimate destiny. Y'know... to unplug it and plug it back in.

      But even with those 15 odd years of stupidity I'd gotten over the(imagined) disappointment of the last episode, and survived on love of the whole.
      This channel has rekindled my initial infatuation with the program (downloading - oops, lol, I could watch it the next day legally but didn't want it wait - 1am uk time).

      @@iancooper7772 I come at the show from another angle, from the world of comic books. What the show does is insert goofy comic book science and mysticism into a dramatic setting, and then take it super seriously. That's a rather unique blend. I was iffy on the show during the initial run, maybe about to drop it, then the time travel hit and I was back in to the end. I got the ending the first time around in a general sense, but I never tracked down all the mechanics.
      I don't rewatch the show much, but I remember everything enough on a pass through like this. I relate to this project because it's the sort of thing I would have done in my youth, filling notebooks with evidence and theories for a completely fictional world, for no one's benefit other than myself. a lot of mystery surrounding Eloise, why she wanted Locke to return in a coffin to the island, or whether she was the one who informed Ben about the existence of the wheel or whether Ben himself already knew because he was in the Dharma. Do you think they made the polar bear spin the wheel or did they use that artificial chamber built above the wheel cave to make it reappear in Tunisia? I thought maybe Dharma used the wheel and then the others forced them to close the tunnel. Thanks for your beautiful work and channel.

I verily understand your feelings here in your comment.

    This channel is great! Amazing work, dude!
    One thing that I don't understand in Desmond's story is that, although he told Penny he wouldn't call for 8 years, he did meet her at least a few times between 1996 and 2004. It's weird that she never brought that subject up or at least it looks like she never did. I find that part really confusing.

    • @LOSTEXPLAINED108
      @LOSTEXPLAINED108  Рік тому +3

      Think of it this way... Desmond broke up with Penny in 1995, right? Yet several years later she turns up at the stadium to see him, even though she is supposed to be getting married and moving on. She even left him a letter in his book before he went to prison that stated she will wait for him. Why would she do or say those things? Because Desmond had showed up at her door months after they broke up declaring that he would call her in 8 years. She didn't understand his promise but she could never forget it. That moment is what kept her waiting for Desmond. It's why she writes that letter to him. It's why she visits him at the stadium after he gets out of prison. She doesn't bring up the mad phone call promise because there are other pressing issues to discuss. But, I believe, the phone call promise is what kept Penny holding out hope for Desmond.

    Not only your attention to detail is overwhelming.
    The editing, the order, the links to other videos... The result is not only great, it's also beautiful.
    Lost maybe started the trend of making "explained" videos, and you went back to "the source" and made a Master Class on how to do it.
    Did you happen to catch the "lost untangled" Videos? They aired after each episode since season 5, and tried to give us some clues mixed with humor.

    Amazing video from you as always.
    The Desmond scene in Catch 22 perfectly makes sense in context of the whole story, man it’s so satisfying.
    There’s a great observation from Seanie B’s Final Recap, maybe you’ve seen, where he points out how there are incredible similarities between the epiphany Desmond has there to what eventually is the culmination of his arc in the Series Finale wherein he “looks up to see a man with a rope tied around his waist” who comes to “help” him.
    It’s a perfect parallel to Jack coming down into the cave, lowered by the rope tied round his waist, to help Desmond out before Jack goes on to cork the source and restart the light. It’s like Desmond has a vision of his ultimate eventual fate in saving the island and the world at the same time as seeing the monk in front of him. There’s a part of his time travelling consciousness that recognises this vision of “a man with a rope tied around his waist” and knows he has some connection to it.
    It in the end turns out to be Jack but in that moment he has no idea, all he just has is a feeling…

    The Bootstrap Paradox and the compass thing… if the compass is just going around and around in the time loop, being passed from Locke to Richard over and over again, will there not eventually be a loop where the compass is so old that it just falls apart (the casing rusts away etc) and can no longer be passed around? I assume the compass isn’t “reset” each time, but it’s just remaining with one of the two men, until it gets taken back in time and passed on to the other. Is it aging in terms of its physical condition even though it’s not moving through time in a linear way?

    • @LOSTEXPLAINED108
      @LOSTEXPLAINED108  Рік тому +2

      That's the real question, isn't it? The compass is paradoxical because it was neither created by anyone nor does it ever degrade into dust within that loop. It shouldn't exist as an item because every material object in our reality is created by something and inevitably degrades over time. Yet this compass appears to be self-created and self-sustaining. Eternal. This paradox is what helps to sustain the existence of the time loop.
      The Source is the reason for the time loop. It is guiding events through its influence, instruction, and direct action across the entire series (and throughout the entire lives of our characters). So, the compass is really a manifestation and symbol of The Source's manipulation of the fabric of time itself. Like the compass, it is also eternal.
      There's a great exchange about this on the LOST podcast between the showrunners after they have been asked this very same question by a viewer:
      Damon Lindelof: "This is a fascinating question, and one we spent way too many hours in the room discussing, and we do not want to remove the shade of mystery for you guys. All we can say first is that what we have done with the compass was absolutely intentional in terms of sort of the broader themes of the show but, more importantly, there are certain things in mathematics and in time travel, like Fermat's last theorem for example, that are very very difficult to try to explain. They are sort of fascinating puzzles that lack solution, and the compass is one of them. It's purposely perplexing. But also, it has no origin. Because if Locke essentially gave it to Alpert, and Alpert gave it to Locke, then where did it come from? And I think the larger question is what is its state of decay? And I think that is an area where we could have called the props department in Hawaii and try to explain what it was we were trying to do, but they would have shot us and basically said "we don't understand, like, does the compass always have to look the same?". Because the fact of the matter is, Alpert holds on to it for 50 years. So, at a certain point, it degrades, and then..."
      Carlton Cuse: "Even if it is in a mobius loop."
      Damon Lindelof: "It is in a mobius loop. An infinite loop."
      Carlton Cuse: "Yeah."
      Damon Lindelof: "So, if you're asking the question "where did the compass come from?", we put this question to you: which came first, the chicken or the egg?."
      Carlton Cuse: "The idea that it is in a mobius loop is a very intentional motif that we are executing here, and again I think that one of the challenges of Lost is, for us is that we believe in a large quotient of mystery and magic in the world, and it is not our intention to demystify the world of Lost by over-explaining things. And the fact that the compass magically exists between these two characters, we think is just a cool piece of the mystery."

    The s5 time travel time loop ruined the show. It means that from the moment losties showed up in ancient island history, everything was pre-determined from that point until the final season, and nobody had any real agency over any of it

    • @LOSTEXPLAINED108
      @LOSTEXPLAINED108  Рік тому +2

      I respectfully disagree. LOST is undoubtedly reaffirming that concepts such as "whatever happened, happened" and destiny (aka everything happens for a reason) are guiding characters' lives to specific outcomes, but that doesn't mean they are simply pawns of fate or had no agency. It's worth reading up on "compatibilism", which is the thesis that free will is compatible with determinism, and moral human agency is not impeded nor constrained by an external force, yet all human behaviour is still caused and determined. I believe that is a good way of viewing the show. Basically, fate does not preclude that our characters in LOST have no free will to make choices, it's just that the show's embodiment of fate -- aka The Island -- already knows what choices they will make since the light is eternal and time does not exist within it. Therefore, its view on time itself would be from a fourth dimensional perspective.
      I think everyone had choice. From a subjective human POV on the ground, with a linear perception of time and reality, our characters are absolutely making choices of their own volition, day in and day out. Every second of their lives. They don't know it's all part of a larger tapestry or that Choice A will lead to Outcome A, which in turn will lead them to making Choice B, even if Outcome A was already predetermined and unchangeable. The characters must reckon with these choices on a personal, moral and spiritual level. And these choices feed into the causality of the universe. But we don't know what comes first: a person's choice or the causal outcomes of that choice. Is it the chicken or the egg? Do people make choices that create an unbreakable causality or are those choices simply the result of the unbreakable causality? Or is it all happening simultaneously at once like a giant feedback loop? It's hard to unpick that. One view is that LOST is trying to find a balance between the two ideas. Human beings have agency, but their actions have a butterfly effect on the world, and those effects lead to events that both risk then ensure the continuation of existence. And, therefore, the continuation of choice.
      Does it matter if our choices are predetermined if we don't know that the outcomes are already predetermined? Does that take away our sense of free will? Does it take away our sense of responsibility over our own choices, actions and inactions?
      I believe the LOST characters can and do make their own choices even though those choices feed into a predetermined causality. It doesn't make the choices they make any less significant or any less meaningful to them and others just because a prime mover exists who knows what they are going to do next.
      If anything, the time loop explains 75% of the series and provides us with some really compelling existential and philosophical questions. Season Five is my favourite season for those reasons.

    One thing Id comment on is the idea of it raining being part of the cycle of it moving. I kind of doubt this and think that this idea of it moving regularly is wrong. I think it's been in the same place for quite some time and my main reason for this is Dharma's, and later the "Others" submarine must have left and arrived from the same location and always consistently arrived every time and if the island is suddenly not there anymore-- then they'd suddenly have no idea how to return. But it's never really mentioned that anyone has troubles getting back... this submarine route has always consistently worked for decades.

    • @LOSTEXPLAINED108
      @LOSTEXPLAINED108  11 місяців тому

      Well, we know that the island moves because multiple characters confirm that fact throughout the show. Do you remember The Lamp Post station beneath the church? That is how DHARMA found the island in the first place. It was a tracking station that predicted where the island was going to appear during its natural movements. That’s how the Oceanic Six get back to it - the Ajira plane is flying into its bubble as it appears beneath them. Eloise Hawking calculated it for them. As a result of this natural movement, the bearing for the submarines and helicopters to enter the island snowglobe needs to be precise, but that bearing changes every time we hear it mentioned in the show. Because the island has moved location. Which means the bearing has to be recalculated every time. That wouldn’t be necessary if the island was totally static, it would simply be the same bearing all of the time. I don’t mean to say that every time it rains in the show that means the island has shifted to another location, only that sometimes it might be an indication that a shift has happened. Anyway, the fact that the island moves is not fan theory, it’s part of the established lore of the series.

    • @Romalian
      @Romalian 11 місяців тому

      @@LOSTEXPLAINED108 I know that the island moves, I just don't think it moves *that often*.
      I feel like it's just a hard pill to swallow that Ben and his team have been working with Eloise, who I don't even think has any reason to help Ben, to help him for the last 20 years to keep him up-to-date on how all of it movements, where to port the submarine and just all the details that go along with that.
      I don't know. I just feel like there's so little to support this when the only inconsistency of it just being stationary is just 2 lines from Season 1 and 4.

    • @LOSTEXPLAINED108
      @LOSTEXPLAINED108  11 місяців тому

      It might not move that often, we don’t really know how frequent or infrequent that happens. All we know is that it does happen. We see Faraday calculating the bearing for the corridor in and out whilst on the island, which means The Others no doubt have a similar method for calculating the same bearing based on island movement. There are more than two lines about this. Literally the whole first half of Season Five revolves around the island movement. We get a whole scene of exposition from Eloise explaining this in detail. The Lamp Post even shows us a visual demo of how the whole thing works. We also know that the island teleports to certain places where predestined island travellers can find it, like the Nigerian beechcraft, which had short range flight capabilities, so could only have crashed on the island if it were off the coast of Nigeria somewhere. There are clues like this throughout that indicate the many different places the island has appeared in. How often it moves is ultimately irrelevant. All that matters is that it does move.

    I think faradays last name is interesting bc it’s sort of a loop like the compass. It’s obviously not Eloise’s maiden name so she just chose that name. But the reason she chose it was bc she already knew that was her son’s name! He was named after himself in the future

    • @LOSTEXPLAINED108
      @LOSTEXPLAINED108  5 місяців тому +1

      That is a great catch! I never actually considered it before but that absolutely could be another time loop paradox. I don't think Faraday ever officially introduces himself to Eloise in 1954 or 1977 by full name, but the journal might have his full name written inside of it or Jack/Kate might have told Eloise his full name off-screen after his death. Either way, I love this idea and it explains why there is a disconnect between surnames. Excellent comment, love your thinking!

      I always thought it had something to do with a Faraday cage. From Wikipedia:
      A Faraday cage or Faraday shield is an enclosure used to block some electromagnetic fields. A Faraday shield may be formed by a continuous covering of conductive material, or in the case of a Faraday cage, by a mesh of such materials. Faraday cages are named after scientist Michael Faraday, who first constructed one in 1836.

    Ben seemingly has turned the wheel before bc he has a hotel room in Tunisia but why didn’t the island start jumping through time those times? Or when Eloise hawking did it?

    • @LOSTEXPLAINED108
      @LOSTEXPLAINED108  8 місяців тому +1

      Ben knew about how the wheel worked and where the exit was just like other people in the know over the years. Widmore knows about the wheel and the exit point in Tunisia too. It doesn’t mean either man personally turned it. It just means that both men were prepared for eventualities. Ben would have had access to all of DHARMA’s research on the wheel both during his time working with them and long after the purge when he inherited all of their collective data. The only reason that the wheel was making our Losties skip through time was because it had slipped off its axis remember? Turning the wheel normally in which it makes a full rotation only moves the island itself to a new spatial location.

    People really thought you were involved with the show.

Turns out he’s a very clever, passionate human helping us all out - I feel they should reward him and I really hope the writers have found this particular channel. I honestly think even they will wonder at what they created in a new way.

    Great video mate! 😀 I always assumed MIB used ‘Island intuition’ like he did at the Nigerian plane to ‘just know’ how Locke and the others got back, and that this was before meeting Sun. Didn’t think he would change form again but no reason why not 😅

    • @LOSTEXPLAINED108
      @LOSTEXPLAINED108  Рік тому

      Don't forget that we see him change again in that very same episode 'Dead is Dead'. He goes from being Fake Locke to Fake Alex within the space of one sequence, so he was still shifting and changing into other forms during the latter half of Season Five. I think the Island intuition thing guides MiB a lot, but I don't think it's a full information download in which he acquires a whole narrative's worth of exposition. It's a feeling of what to do or where to go. Whereas in the wheel chamber, as Fake Christian, he has incredibly specific information about someone who has been off-island for decades. It's the major clue as to when in the timeline that scene is taking place.

    Im not saying that it isnt pointless, but we never did see dharma use that station during their time on the island. Timeline wise, the station was built before the hatch, monitoring the other stations on the island. The "tubes to nowhere" could of had a purpose someday. I have to imagine that they ran a tight enough ship that the cleaned up after themselves. We are just seeing it after the fact, we dont know enough to answer this question. Who is to say they had to go down and get this person during the purge. As if they hadnt been back to the village in a while.

    For the segment 51:22 'Who was on the other outrigger?',
    I've drawn my own theory on it, and it might be fanon territory, but it's logical-ish, as I've backed-up my theory with LOST episodes as reference points.
    I posted it on this video; ua-cam.com/video/ptre8vqaoDw/v-deo.html
    It was the Ajira 316 Survivors carrying the Dead Locke crate theory, same as above mentioned.
    [REPOST comment from 4 years ago]
    "As a Losties fan, to my understanding & time travel conundrum,
    The other outrigger during the chase was probably the Ajira 316 survivors that came from the Hydra island; Ilana's crew carrying dead Locke in the crate.
    As evident in S05E12, Lapidus brought back the 2nd outrigger back to Hydra island while Ilana's crew prep the crate presumably for the 3rd outrigger.
    Sometime in-between, Ilana's crew stop at the Oceanic 815's beach camp for recon with the crate. That's when the Oceanic Time Flash gang comes in and took one of the outrigger.
    Thus the outrigger chase ensues. When they vanished, Ilana's crew had no choice but to proceed to their next drop-point.
    And in S05E16 Part 1, Ilana's crew came with 1 outrigger.
    Ik there's the 'non-canon' from Lost collection detailed that the other outrigger was a scout party from the Black Rock ship. which to me, it's unlikely & outta nowhere nonsense explanation.
    And another from Jorge Garcia's podcast that mention a script for the outrigger chased was supposed to be film for S06 where MiB Locke was shooting at the time-traveling Locke's gang.
    This one was interesting to see how it could've played out if it was film."

    I wish somehow the show ended with revealing that the island itself is the result of a bootstrap paradox. Where in the end Hugo is sent into the past and ends up recruiting the mother (or her predecessor) to isolate some form of pre ilsand source of energy to the island creating the island we see in the show.

    • @MichealQuinm
      @MichealQuinm Рік тому +1

      In my version of the end someone (sayid/sun/Walt/Desmond) Would destroy the island as the power provided by the source has done nothing except corrupt good people causing massive amounts of unnecessary suffering. Hurley(who disagreed with the descion) is somehow sent into the past as a result of this. Not understanding time travel but understanding that the source exists outside of time Hurley fears that if the island ever doesn’t exist it never existed at all. For this reason Hurley decides he need to cause the islands existence to protect the existence that he experiences, as he fears if he doesn’t he’ll disappear in a back to the future style fashion.

    • @MichealQuinm
      @MichealQuinm Рік тому +1

      This would also ground the actions of the island/source and who gains what visions and why. This would also create the a engineered time loop similar to how Eloise and Charles engineered the original time loop.
