Here in 2023, and just….. wow. This is so incredible….. you guys are the freaking best. Watching these videos was also a beautiful, unexpected reminder of the time I spent in Tibet with my dad! We traveled there for his work, and I got to be the photographer, and wow. The beauty of the mountains, the people, the prayer flags and spinners, & art everywhere. My dad passed away a few years later, and man…. How blessed am I that I got to experience that with him?! I was in Tibet when a 16 year old girl, the youngest girl to ever climb Everest (at the time), and her father were climbing. Some news came out while we were there, and our translator told us that her dad had died nearing the peak, and she finished the climb ALONE 😮 I can’t even imagine. What a baller!!)
Tenzing Norgay and Sir Edmund Hillary were the 2 men to climb to the top of Mt Everest! I'm fairly certain they made a pact to each other to never reveal which person made it to the top first so they would both be remembered as the first to climb Everest!!

I've only just discovered your guys vlogs and they are my sweet escapism during this crazy pandemic. I love watching your travels! I miss travelling so much, so watching your blogs is satisfying a little bit of that craving. I had masala tea in Nepal a few years ago, no tea has ever come close since then :-D keep vlogging and keep posting :-) it's keeping me sane right now lol
I am so enjoying this guys. I went trecking on a 2 week trek in the Annapurna region out of Pokhara in the mid 80's with my then husband. I hadn't trained for it and regretted that and always lagged behind! My favourite part was watching the sunrise at Poon Hill. I must say your treck looks truly amazing and I wish we had done that one. The villages have certainly developed heaps since the 80's. I notice Nate you call towns and villages cities and did so when you were in Australia too. In the States I don't think you have villages but do you have towns? In the UK where I originated from before emigrating to Australia a city was only a city not a town if it had a cathedral in it! What constitutes a city in the States is it over a certain population?

I did EBC 3 times in 98,99 and 2000 and it's been a treat watching you discover it as well as bringing back a host of memories. The Everest View Hotel was still being built back then but nice to see it's finally up and running. Glad you had a great time.

I'm thinking on buying my pants/rain-coat directly in either Kathmandu or Namche instead of in the US. I was wondering if you still remember the store in Namche where you bought yours (minute 8:30), and if you were happy with them afterwards. Also, from your experience, did you find any gear store (either in Kathmandu or Namche or along the way) that you would recommend or suggest? Thanks again!
Definitely wait to buy till you get there! Nate loved his pants and still wears them. There are so many shops, there’s no way to choose except which clothes you think are the cutest 😄 enjoy!
Who summitted first? Tenzing or Hillary? Both Tenzing and Hillary eventually said they both did at the same time which I find hard to believe even though it was the right answer to give at that time. Tenzing was an incredible alpinist along with Hillary and the entire expedition that year.
