      Yes, light will break down the molecules in the oil. If the original packaging/bottle is dark, safe to assume it needs to be protected from light. You could still use a clear container just keep in cupboard/dark area when not using.

    I love the idea to make organised things decorative ✨✨✨ But a hint to peeps, don’t decant any oil into a clear bottle (or plastic). Ever wondered why olive oil almost always comes in brown\opaque bottles? Sunlight will oxidise the oil if it’s in clear, and that makes it pretty unhealthy from just sitting on the bench. Embrace the amber or similar bottles!!

    The best that I found so far for cat food is an automatic food dispenser. Not only does it organize stuff, but it also organizes a cat: in the morning a cat no longer wakes me up to feed it. In the opposite - it runs to the feeder 15min before the preset time comes and is waiting for food patiently there. It is also brilliant for 3-4days travel: I can be sure that a cat is fed well while I am away.

      Actually dry food is not good for cats ;x

    • @natashavesper
      @natashavesper 3 роки тому +7

      @@LetsRockDaHouse Dry food has a variety of grades. Supermarkets sell garbage which is dangerous. In cat store and at vets one can find a good one which has enough protein. Dry food has benefits. I have had 3 cats in my life. The oldest one died last year at the age of 21. A second one is 15 now, the youngest is 6. All of them eat/ate high quality dry food bought from the vet. Dry food has own benefits too: it might be worse for kidneys, but it is a healthier option for teeth. If pets have water available all the time, it works well. All vets whom I have met recommend it.

      My food motivated cat fortunately isn’t too crafty like that, so keeping the cat food in a cabinet put away keeps him out, but my wife and I do have to make empty shelf space in closed cabinets available when baking because he doesn’t know the difference between cat food and people food and WILL try to eat our cookies. Or cooling custard for cake filling. Or loaves of bread left out, biting THROUGH the bag. Or a sponge/napkin/silicone cupcake cup with a little too much food residue left out. We have to leave groceries in a closed room when bringing them in from the car before putting them away because he will immediately investigate new groceries.

    Olive oil shouldn't be left in sunlight - it goes off. This is why the bottles they come in are coloured glass or plastic. It's better to put it in a cupboard handy to the cooktop. So lovely to hear the word cutlery. I get sick of hearing it called flatware (it isn't flat), or silverware (it isn't always silver). Thanks Kristen, for making my day.

      was about to say the same. basically all oil that is bought to have some vitamins and minerals in them we would like them to keep, should be kept without uv light, which is why dark bottles help a lot (it‘s also why most oils come in either dark metal containers or dark bottles with most parts being concealed with a paper wrap). same goes for more expensive vinegar. also some oils like it cold (like 10*C = 50*F), other like olive oil is best at 20*C =68*C.
      the uv light issue even more so goes for coffee beans as well.
      so yeah. a nice looking kitchen is awesome, however if the ingredients go spoiled much quicker or loose some of their beneficional traits for cooking, well, it‘s kinda problematic to me at least...

    I use a kitchen trash can with a foot pedal for my cat food, with a soup spoon for scooping the food out. That way It looks clean, discreet, keeps the odour in and is easy to use. The nicest thing is that the trash can is big enough to hold the ultra large sizes of cat food that I use. And since it's next to the cat food with a label on it, people don't think it's for trash.

    nice looking brushed nickel finish with multiple water spray options
    Our master bathroom has a standing shower with handheld shower head.
    We started to see some rust spots in the hose not to mention heavy mineral built ups in the shower head because our house has very hard water despite water softener we have.
    My wife picked out this handheld shower head to replace our old one because she loves the brush nickel finish to match our bathroom decors but this turned out to be very impressive handheld shower head.
    Although I have replaced shower heads many times in the past, it came with nice instruction on how to replace it for those who's not familiar with it. My only advise would be to use wrench to hold the base spout when removing and installing the holding adapter so you don't accidently twist and damage the base pipe when you over tighten it.
    I really appreciate that it came with plenty of plumber's tape because you really want to put that on before connecting different parts so that there's no water leak in between threads. This is one of most common mistakes and reasons why there's leak after installing it. Very happy to see that they have provided plumber's tape to remind you to use it!
    It also had rubber rings/washers in each connector but it also came with extra one, which is nice. They also included a shower drain cover to prevent hair from going in to the drainage, which is a nice bonus. I really love the brush nickel finish, which makes it look elegant and expensive. The 7 different water spray setting is nice to have so you can change it for different purpose. We will most likely leave it on one setting for most of the times but it's nice to have option to change it when needed, such as jet spray for cleaning the shower wall, etc.
    After replacing the shower head, I didn't see any leak and the stainless steel hose feels sturdy. I also like that I can rotate and tilt the shower head holder and it stays in place. Overall, very happy with this shower head!

If placed in a container the whole bag should be placed in it. Please look up this info. It will be the recommendation by all the kibble pet food makers. It has to do with how kibble is made. The industry was forced to make bag changes. Its a very interesting history.

    I like the tea cupboard but only if the tea bags are concealed to keep their freshness and away of dust.

    We call our “junk” drawer our “very special” drawer. That way we don’t have the mindset of just throwing miscellaneous stuff in there. It really was helpful while raising my girls.

      Call ours "the miscellaneous drawer"

      I love that idea! I just bought those containers from target and a few from dollar tree to organize mine and I’m going to call it that afterwards. I also bought a nice looking smallish basket for on top of my counter for items that need to go to their correct home in different areas of my home so I don’t have stuff just thrown all over the place and that has helped so it doesn’t t overwhelming we empty that basket each night or when ever stuff gets in it and it has helped my kids remember as well. I’m a single mom of two kids(10 and 5) working two jobs and trying to further my degree. So anything I can do to keep my home or help keep my home a little more organized I’m all about it. I never want to spend more time cleaning then I do with my kids so that has been a good reminder to for me. Thank you for that idea. You learn something new everyday. Haha!

    These hacks are amazing! I’ve had the glass jars with pumps on my Amazon list for a long time and even plan to use them for shampoo and body wash! Definitely gonna purchase that cutlery divider! I will say on the spice riser though, I’ve had one for about a year and don’t really like it. I use a lot of spices in my cooking so I always have to try and get ones from the back which cause the front row to fall. I’m hoping to install a slide out drawer instead.

    Lovely ideas! I am loving your channel! ❤️ regarding these tips, just one thing. Good Olive oils and others produce that comes in dark tinted bottles do for a reason, its to protects the liquid from the lights, so this set for oil and vinegar is a bad idea…
    Suggestions: i would love a trick for bad corners kitchen cabinet, the ones that are not connected and you end up with deep cabinet in the corners that you can’t reach!

    Hey kristen, love ur work 🌻🌸 I didn't know this for a long time, but olive oil actually preferably should be stored in a tinted container, if just wrap the clear one with aluminum foil, to prevent it from being oxidized and to keep its benifits as is, light affects its quality. ❤️

    I'm sure someone already commented this but olive oil should be kept in dark bottles to keep light out. They have decorative cute dark bottles for oil that might be better!

    I wish my drawers were big enough to add organizers like that. My house is old and the kitchen cabinet layout is something to be desired. Half my drawers aren't even tall enough to fit serving spoons 😢 I hope to redesign the cabinets one day.

    • @shannonsmith924
      @shannonsmith924 3 роки тому +2

      Yeah my cabinets aren’t tall enough for spice organizers. I get how you feel. I only really have two surface spaces too in my kitchen. The oven gas oven not flat at all. And the counters. Small kitchens are usually older kitchens or just built weirdly like that.
      Hang in there organizing will occur in time for us who love to organize. Don’t stress too much. It just means we need to be more creative in our solutions.

    Ikea sells jars like that, however, they're a bit small for a big bag of pet food. We also sell big bins with lids, & they work great especially if you have multiple pets. 😉
