the music is as beautiful as her
What a sensitivity. And she really animates the tones. And the way she holds the tones with her hands and arms in the very end.
so beautiful❤️
Absolutely perfect!💯👏
My favorite song .
When I lighten to this song ,
Japanese mountains and forests
are covered the trees aflame with red and yellow leaves .
This luscious player is incomparable and exquisite .
Without Debussy and his great performers such as Eloise Bella ,
the classical music world and our world would have been very lonely .
From
Tokyo of the Land of the Rising Sun 🇯🇵
She really respect the author, very good indeed
Leconte de Lisle's original poem was written in French. In English, it is translated as:
On the lucerne midst flowers in bloom,
Who sings praises to morning?
It is the girl with golden hair,
The beauty with lips of cherry.
For, love, in clear summer sunlight,
Has soared with the lark and sung now.
Your mouth has such colours divine,
My dear, so tempting to kisses.
On grass in bloom, talk to me, please,
Girl with fine curls and long lashes.
For, love, in clear summer sunlight,
Has soared with the lark and sung now.
Do not say no, cruel maiden.
Do not say yes. Better to know
The long lasting gaze of your eyes
And your rosy lips, oh, my belle.
For, love, in clear summer sunlight,
Has soared with the lark and sung now.
Farewell, you deer, farewell you hares
And the red partridge. I want
To stroke the gold of your tresses
Smothering lips with my kisses.
For, love, in clear summer sunlight,
Has soared with the lark and sung now.[8]
At the age of 78 I have an older appreciation for this piece and others that I remember hearing in an old film starring Joseph cotton ,Jennifer Jones and a very young Anne Francis. I would say it was the somewhere in t8me of it's day. When I was around 70 I found the film for sale in an oldies but goodies section. If you have a streaming devise check out tom I know they play it once in a long, long while . I fell in love with Debussy then and there.
Absolutely brilliant. She caresses the piano and places her own soul into the performance. This is truly the best performance I have heard.
Regards, Michael Martin Gmus, (CNAA)
Yay, finally someone who doesn't rush through this piece!
actually i found nobody "rushing through this piece", this version seems to be one of the faster versions imo
Check out Lang Lang's rendition. He really takes his time.
This masterpiece she plays with incomparable skill and exquisite technique is the lullaby of the mankind , and the cradle of human souls
This music gives me comfort and solace , heals my sorrow , and melts away my suffering , and purifies my stagnant soul .
This music is effulgent in my mind .
@Charlemagne
Thank-you so much to your reply !
Tokyo is hustle and bustle with Coronavirus infection .
The unnecessary and non - sudden outings are self - restraint .
There are no pedestrians in the main streets .
A big city that never sleeps , Tokyo is sleeping slowly and deeply .
Same for New York , London and Paris .
The center and downtown area of Tokyo are turned into the ghost town .
Debussy'「Pagodes 」 looks great in this lonely atmosphere .
When I listen to this masterpiece , I think that the metropolis of Tokyo resembles the Tower of Babel , which is desolated with the wrath of God .
I never imagined that our world would be depicted in this hellish drawing .
Coronavirus is scary and cruel and fierce
Be on the alert for Coronavirus infection .
Good luck !
@Charlemagne
Thank-you
Good luck !
This is the best performance and interpretation of this piece I’ve heard so far. A flawless performance. I would so much love her to play this on my own piano. What a joy that would be! Thank you for sharing.
you feel like your piano sounds better than this?😊
I was referring to the pleasure I’d get from seeing and hearing such a talented performer playing the very piano that I play most days and in my own home.
As for the sound, that’s very subjective but my piano is certainly comparable to this Steinway. I normally prefer other makes over Steinway but I do like the beautiful bell-like treble of this particular piano which suits the piece very well. 😊
I LOVE the changes of tempo of this player with this prelude...quality outoforder 😮
absolutely stunning rendition. The rolls and chords and single notes are perfect and the touch is breath taking...
Amazing job, and just pleasant to the ear as well!
When I listen to this masterpiece,
Comfort and emotion surge up within me
Her performance is absolutely stunning
of course it is, i'd be surprised if she uploaded a crapy dirty performance
Her wonderful performance is embedding the musical aesthetics of Debussy
In 2020,
I would like to send New Year,s greetings to this incomparable pianist and people who deeply love this masterpiece from Tokyo of the Land of the Rising Sun of the Far East .
May glory and prosperity be brought to you who deeply love Debussy .
Which are you watching this from ?
wow, excellent in my book
💘💞💘💞💘💞💘💞 gentleness at play.
Magnifique ! Merci.
Agree with most of the comments here, that was perfectly paced. The end sounded like a flower blooming on the first day of spring. Thank you for playing my favorite piece by Debussy so well.
Excellent
Beautiful, hope to see much more from Ms. Kohn in the future!
This masterpiece is a lullaby of mankind, and the cradle of soul
This song has no business being so beautiful
Gorgeous Eloise!
beauty
Bravo!!
What a versatile musician Debussy is
beautiful ❤
Excelente! Gracias
wow.
💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💓💓💓💓💓💓
😍
Adorável!👏👏👏👏👏
Wonderful.
Pace Debussy himself, does it take a woman to play this as it should be played? As I hear it, Eloise Bella Kohn does better than Rubinstein, Michelangeli, and Lang Lang. Bravo!
Ezio Bosso's recording is my favorite for this piece. You should definitely check it out. And Alain Planes is my favorite Debussy interpreter, better check him, too. :)
I've just been through a few here on UA-cam and I'd agree this is the best.
I agree - she stays absolutely true to the score, which is all one need do with Debussy. He gives you all the direction you need.
Nothing more attractive than a beautiful woman who can play music.
“Music is the silence between the notes” Debussy 1:30
As BluesyBor already noted, this is NOT a piece to rush through on your way to somewhere else; the middle section, starting at 1:23, is played too fast by just about everyone who has ever played Debussy; Eloïse Bella Kohn plays this whole piece magnificently... but that middle section, at the proper languid and loving tempo, is the stuff of absolute genius... simply stunning... tears of joy!
Her incomparable play is full of Debussy's pensive feeling .
From Tokyo of the Land of the Rising Sun

I am very impressed and happy that you love Debussy as much as I do .
I deeply love Debussy and Chopin
Until last month
everywhere in Tokyo was covered with the faint scent and the color of light pink of cherry blossoms in full bloom
Currently
Tokyo is full of green leaves
The cherry blossoms in full bloom is moving in Japanese northern prefectures
Someday I am looking forward to visit great and radiant Tunis where we love and respect
May glory , prosperity and wealth be brought to your great and effulgent Tunis
Japan waits for you forever
Good luck !

Unfortunately
in Japan
the number of the infected people is increasing , especially 20s ~30s and domestic people
Be on the alert for Covid - 19

She looks like Sargent's oil paint of Madame X
Claire de Lune but change up the flavour 😜
Mais qu’y a t’il de plus beau ?
