ya the cases are nice, but the only tools i keep in them are if theyre sustainers, because they stack neatly

Hahaha did you say fist your dust collection. Maybe my sick sense of humor just caught up on that. Anyways man awesome build definitely need one of these for my shop. nice build, seems to be in my budget for shop cabinets too! after watching you vids this week, i too have ditched using a clamp with my kreg haha. feels much more manly using it now! ha
i doubt kreg recommends that, but im heavy enough to keep it stable haha

Complete noob when it comes to wood work but have been watching videos and learning slowly. Stupid question though, how do you pick your screw type and length and width for jobs your doing.
I haven't decided if I like many, many dadoes, or many, many cleats to gives tons of options for shelf dividers. I don't much like the method of using columns of shelf pin holes.

You used a push stick on a section of plywood after you ran your fingers directly over the top of the dado. Hmm. Interesting technique.

its such a convenient place! Having no boom arm over over blade dust collection gets a bit messy though.
Is that scrap cut offs on the bottom of the drawers?? I'm guessing for a little more support. Can't tell if they run all the way through the drawer. I think the dado slots where throwing me off until I seen the upper portion and you explained the modular aspect.
yea I had to make some on the fly adjustments because I ran out of materials. I'll replace the drawer bottoms with 1/2" plywood once I get some more. but you would be correct

Makita track saw. You'll love it. Razor crisp edges without tape. Dust collection is 90%--very good! Good enough to use inside client's home with minimal cleanup. @HoneyOnWales

Is it safe to drill holes with an impact driver? I've heard that the bit can shatter if the driver puts to much torque on the bit?
I see you use your counter sink bit and your kreg step bit in your impact. I don't ever really see that in any other videos I watch but it seems efficient and effective. I guess the holes you're drilling aren't deep at all so I may have just answered my own question lol.

Drawers were me just winging it with what materials i had on hand. I used pocket hole joinery all around and ran out of screws so i had temporary bottoms in for the video
The drawers can be any size you want. Just make sure the inner dimension of the cabinet carcass is one inch wider than the width of the drawer to make room for the drawer slides.
I am only a novice woodworker but that mid-level support, for the top shelf tools, is inherently weak isn't it? Those dado cuts along the underside of the plywood shelf creates a "bending moment" right? That plywood is holding the load in tension.
Unless some kind of vertical supports are placed in those dado cuts, that top shelf will deflect, or sag down pretty quickly, especially if that garage is an unconditioned space.
correct. I learned this the hard way when i moved shops and hung this cabinet. As it is in the video, the vertical supports on the bottom cubbies add enough strength to keep the "box" stable because the load is transfered through them. Along the same lines, a face frame would probably solve this problem. If i did this again, I would use 2 separate boxes (top and bottom) and 1/4" divider. Great catch, and good thought process
I had to laugh a little bit here but thanks for the compliment. However, my thought process is more flawed than than being a hooker in church on Sunday. Like an awful lot of guys, I make mistakes that are only obvious after I finish cutting all the plywood into usable pieces.
I feel the never-ending, and unapproving, stare of Sister Mary Elizabeth in the background with everything I do. She spent one day in our 8th grade physical Science class going over trees, why and how they grow, how we use them and why they make good building materials, etc. She gave us a strength to weight ratio chart, explained (superficially, of course) how loads were transferred in tension and compression as I dozed-off. Naturally, I was beaten the next day after coughing-up an incorrect answer and laughing about it.
It's one of those life lessons. Your stuff is great. You lack Sister Mary Elizabeth, however.

”pepe amazing plan” (Google it), is an extremely detailed woodworking book! It breaks everything down, utilizing words, drawings, real pictures, and different diagrams. It is really an interesting product. I am currently creating furniture along with my sibling and because of this product, I feel like assisting him is possible.
