How to Sew the Ladder Stitch - Hand Sewing Tutorial

  • Even if you're like me, and you avoid hand sewing like the plague, the ladder stitch is a very "handy" (get it) stitch to learn.
    You can use it to stitch up the open gusset from one of my bag tutorials. You can use it to sew the gap closed after stuffing a pillow. You can even use it to fix up your kid's favorite stuffed animals that's starting to fall apart at the seams.
    The ladder stitch is also called the "invisible stitch" and the "slip stitch."
    So grab a needle and thread and let's get sewing!

      ladder stitch = slip stitch = invisible stitch. They're all different names for the same thing.
