Cooking is not a wife skill, it's a life skill. It aint about a man. It's about taking care of yourself and your budget.
You sound crazy and it’s only women who liked this comment
I've been saying that since since i was even 12 years old. Back in 2010. Isnt a gender thing. It a life skill. Ppl always want to throw other under bus. No its LIFE SKILL!
Well put💯
Traditionally it is a gender thing, which is why it’s a topic for discussion.
You probably single.
I’ve seen women do it all. Cook, clean, shop, work. It is physically demanding. And then the man is working as well and wants to come home, eat and relax alone. We need to build deeper emotional bonds in our relationships so that resentment doesn’t grow.
THIS
Well said🙏🏾
I hate posts like this cause y’all act like guys don’t have responsibilities at the house as well and then you position it like it’s men vs women. That mentality isn’t even conducive to a strong household to begin with…but go off, I guess.
The man isnt doing nothing when he comes home he is resting becauee his life is way fucking harder than any woman can imagine. Women shouldnt be working they should be raising kids
You are RIGHT
I cook more than my wife. She cooks maybe twice a week I don’t mind because she’s up every morning at 530 getting our kids ready for school.
Yes 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 a husband helping out!! This is marriage
Cool, but to me, this entire conversation and debate is silly because men can throw down too!! Most chefs are men...People need to stop this foolishness because it's not one person's duty...Whatever works for people is what they should do!
That’s great, it’s all about balance. You guys are a team!
@@YaNa-xq4llyou copping out sucka😂
@@YaNa-xq4llwomen can go 50/50 but spend time crying about it too so whats your point? 😅
If you can't cook and clean as an adult, idk what to tell you. There's no way I'm relying on another human being as a grown adult to cook and clean for me. Utterly ridiculous 😒
I mean folks out here crying for ppl to spend all their hard earned money on them. So in reverse you can ask for cooked meals
Everyone should learn how to cook. It’s a common skill.
It’s the females primary responsibility!
why I would when I'm living with my parents and when I marry, my wife would cook? It's just a wasted skill that you would take time to gain while not benefit from it much? I just need to know the basics, to cook egg and rice and minced meat for emergency situations.
As a man, from the south, I like to cook. So I don't care if a woman can't, I'll handle it if she doesn't. It's a bonus, but NOT a requirement. As long we eating, that's all that matters. Idgaf honestly.
U aint from the south if you aint wantcha lady cooking for you, u lost boy, so u gone cook 7 days a week the whole relationship? Get real bruh, its about give and take
Cooking is work. Child rearing is work. Cleaning is work. Employment is work. Being expected to offer unlimited emotional support is work. Women are constantly working and not all men are worthy of all this labor. Men need to learn how to do all of the above if they aren’t going to provide 100%.
This 💯 I'll never take a goofy dusty seriously if he can't understand these basic facts. At a minimum, get a high paying job or bring your 50% overall, not just money... or find a "pick me" type dummy lady lol
Does it feel to win the internet?
Everyone dont got kids. The ones who aint cooking why didnt they spend their childless life span learning to cook? We all went to school &/or worked & cleaned but yet some still are able to cook. The level of excuses the moderners make is hilarious. Loving watching the future cat ladies walk themsleves into owning 20 cats & eating cat food when things potentially get rough.
A lot of dudes do this for themselves now anyways, nobody trying to eat stuff that aint giving gains anyway, said all those things to do and didnt say "workout" we already know what meals most of yall be cooking anyways😂
And you dont think men cook or clean? DAMN WE ALL EQUAL NOW SIS, now if u actually want a man why would he want u if he can do everything?
Envy is spot on ...that's the answer the women back then had no life and didn't really go out and they were always at home when off...women now are hitting happy hour on weekdays
I’m glad he said that. And Charlamagne too made a great point. A lot of people are doing noble things (cooking all the meals, rearing kids, working 70 hours a week) and are miserable.
Charlamagne definitely said it. Something had to be sacrificed. My mom was dedicated to her family, and she didn't really have an outside life. Being solely a parent and not have an identity outside of that is mentally taxing. I applaud my mom and all the others because working full time, school full time, toddler and trying to keep my mental and physical in tact is something serious! Men too!
My wife and I both work and split cooking duty. I definitely cook a little more but it's because I'm the better cook.
Aw man sending my prayers brother
Women are in the workforce just as much as men. Why would anyone want to sign up for a second job as a nanny, chef and maid?
Lol exactly. If we both work, why are we both not doing the cooking, cleaning, childcare?
Because we the breadwinners.
@@maskedman5657not in the black community.
@@maskedman5657lol where most of us make more than men
@@maskedman5657 breadwinner means you are the only one bringing money in to provide for the family. That’s not the case, most families need 2 incomes and the women work as much as the men. The question is, in those households where both the woman and man are women, pretty much the same amount, why should women be the only one to cook?
This kind of conversation is stupid. Man or woman, you have to know how to cook in order to survive. There's no gender to it. These discussions are weird.
Very much so
I can't cook and I'm alive
why I would when I'm living with my parents and when I marry, my wife would cook? It's just a wasted skill that you would take time to gain while not benefit from it much? I just need to know the basics, to cook egg and rice and minced meat for emergency situation
@@icantwiththis Simply because we are living in a society where not everyone should do everything. shouldn't everyone be a farmer to survive, the farmers will give others. similarly, not everyone should know cooking, just some cookers (housewives or housemaids) would feed others.
Everybody needs to cook, tf is yall talking about? If it’s a relationship, the one with more time or the better cook, should cook, regardless of gender.
Massive Truth.

There are women still cooking. Some just also have careers so you ain’t gonna get the big breakfast and dinners that ya mama who didn’t work can do. Also men can cook. I know plenty of men who cooks for their woman.
A man who enjoys cooking, like actually wouldn’t mind being the main cook and is good at it sounds like a rare 🦄. It would be a dream lol

I think people forget the context of why women did cook, it was a preservation act. If you cook I’ll cut the grass, wash the car, fill the gas, get the kids in the after school if you dropped them off in the morning. Hell I know how to cook and my wife does too but she doesn’t have any issues or undermine the things I do for the house

Ok Mr Redpill
I make all our breads, soft cheeses, yogurt, butter, etc. from scratch. I kill and process our meat, and I prepare all the family's meals. I'm a full-grown woman. I think that this subject mostly refers to younger women, and I didn't do any of my current kitchen work when I was younger. People come into cooking when they're ready, and not everyone is ready at the same time/age.
Are you a SAHM?
@@JaneDoe-ef3mx I work from home more hours per week than when I had a brick and mortar job. I remain very occupied.
Mothers need to teach their SONS how to cook. My husband never learned how to growing up like I did. So I’ve had to cook for us. Now with my son he’s learned how to cook at least his favorite dishes to make for himself for when the time comes and moved out of the house he’s good, and saving money bc shits even more expensive or when he’s dating and wants cook something for her.
Jess and that caller is right! I don’t wanna work from 5:30am-7pm, cook and then clean up afterward. That’s a lot. Offer to help and then maybe you’ll get more. Y’all love to tell a woman go “50/50” housework is included in that 🤷🏾♀️
That's dumb because you have to do it for yourself. And if it's 50/50 then I would do it just as much as you and we have the same schedule. So if I had that take it would be equally dumb.
You do realize when you go 50/50 on things, that's you actually receiving help right??? Sounds like you don't like being a responsible adult....
@@AaronLewis06 exactly receiving help…. You need help to pay the bills cool, women need help around the house which some men don’t want to do because that’s considered “a woman job”….. did I break that down enough for you or you still need help comprehending
@@Drediggy I don’t think you’re old enough or mentally well enough to have this conversation. I am talking about a partnership. Some men say they want “50/50” in a relationship meaning helping with the bills which is cool for a working woman to help at. Women want help with house work… cooking and cleaning. Please keep up
@@Drediggycooking and cleaning (and any other tasks that adult humans do) for yourself is completely different from doing it for your family. I speak from experience with two little ones and a husband and a parent with dementia.
Time management and meal prep is key.
What you do is buy the meat in bulk, clean it all at once and marinade/season it and put it in a freezer bags. I'll write out my list and quantities before grocery shopping.
All you have to do is take it out the morning off, let it defrost and marinade at the same time. By the time you get home it's ready to cook. The key is cleaning, chopping, preparing... make the mess all at once. For a single person, I managed to prep meat and fish to supply me for over a month. I was barely tempted to order take out.
I always make breakfast on the weekends. It’s honestly my favorite food to cook! Love pancakes, waffles, bacon, sausage, eggs and grits.❤
Why not cook during the week
Waking up at 3 is hilarious 😂😂
I clean as I go along while cooking. Cooking is a life skill not a chore.
I don’t think women cook less tbh. I think the ones who don’t want to cook end up in relationships where it works for them (or single) and the same goes for the ones that do. My wife told me she didn’t want to cook all the time so I told her I’d cook on the weekdays and she can cook on the weekends. Plus y’all act like cooking is mandatory. We both get tired of it occasionally and we just go out to eat or order something and the one responsible for providing the food that day is the one who picks it up.
I work 70 hours a week, I clean, I take care of my only son and I make breakfast lunch and dinner... I choose to stay single. 😂 My former partners never knew how to contribute the thing I wanted most..honesty. I'm a living lie detector...it never worked out.❤

Lol the fact that this is a convo is sad.
This is such a stupid question, we have post after post on how people are working 2-3 jobs just to pay basic bills, people in general are probably cooking less overall due to time constraints they're probably leaning on more ready made items, and the cost of groceries is insane. That's not to say people don't cook at all, but why the onus is one sex versus another these days is ludicrous
Charla bringing up how much your parents gave up before having you is something I’ve always been curious about and ask about which made me super grateful but for Envy it’s like the light bulb still didn’t click on Envy:If I go to my moms right now she’ll cook for me/ My mom didn’t have an outside life and he’s actually smiling while saying that and it’s sad because he’s not realizing that Many parents not just mothers but they get lost in the parent role so much that even once their kid is legally grown they have lost their selves in motherhood or parenthood kinda mimicks when a woman loses herself in a relationship
Mom worked long hours monday-fri and still cooked. We had leftovers too!! But she did sacrifice herself and life
Exactly. People say their moms worked, cooked, clean, shopped, reared children but leave out the stress and non existent life. I saw my mom struggle and get fed up and get stressed and still pushed through. My parents never went on a vacation. Never traveled. The nicest restaurant we probably ever went to us Sizzlers. We never went on family outings. I was fortunate enough that my parents would save up to send me to Jamaica often.
With everyone talking about mental health, I believe some of this generation just wants a healthy balance of work/chores and enjoying life and while figuring it out, some things are sacrificed, like cooking everyday.
I refuse to cook everyday because there is so much to do. My parents never cooked everyday either. My parents cooked enough to have 1 or 2 days of leftovers and I do the same.
Yes, and? Y'all want women to work and come home and cook while men work and come home and do what?

Every single adult, male female and everything in between should know how to cook, clean, do laundry and iron
I love to cook. You can experiment with so many recipes and try new things. I grew up watching hella Food Network. Cleaning afterwards is annoying but just clean as you go or make a one pot dish, it'll save you so much time and the stresses of cleaning hella dishes at the end.
Jess, the woman who makes everything from scratch lives “a soft life.” She does not work outside the home. It’s beautiful, but the average woman does not live that way; most couples today cannot solely depend on one person to be the provider.
I love cooking for myself, my kids and my man, especially on Sundays. That's the big meal and rest day. I love to break bread with my family ❤
I don't cook as much anymore. My kids cook for themselves ( teaching them to be self-sufficient).
How many EMPLOYED women with children, wake up at 3pm?! I bet this was posted by some of those "red pill, manosphere" dudes. Any woman who has stuff to do won't be in bed at 3pm.
At the end of the day cooking is a LIFE SKILL that both men and women should have!
It’s toxic as hell. Nobody cares if their mothers cooked every night. They are looking for mothers
I cook every morning for my son before school and work. Like that’s not a challenging task to complete whatsoever.
My boyfriend wakes up at 4 or 5am sometimes I don't so he cooks his own breakfast. I dont like breakfast food so i dont ask him to cook. Sometimes hell still make me something in the morning. When in working and he's working we swap cooking days or we order in. When I'm off I'll cook 2 or 3 different meals so I don't get overwhelmed later during the week. But it is taxing if you have a job, cooking, grocery shopping, cleaning, taking out the trash, budgeting, and doing it all by yourself. That's why there has to be a balance. I don't do one sided relationships anymore 🤷🏾♀️
Tons of women cook. It's just that jewels are rarely in dumpsters. Gotta change your environment of search to find different.
Yall just lazy AF! 😂 It doesn't take long to cook a meal. I can easily work 8-9 hrs w/ 30+ students, workout 1 hr, prep grades/notes, and still cook a meal within an hour or less for my family! These ladies just need to manage their times better and step their game up 💯

There is nothing better than your beloved woman taking her precious time out of the day to prepare you a delicious meal. And when you take the first bite and she looks at you to get your confirmation. That’s love indeed. Thankfully I love to cook also, so my wife appreciates that wholeheartedly.
I don't cook at 28, my husband enjoys cooking and I wake late because I code through the night. I only wake early now because of my baby. I can cook if I need to but I don't. Maybe special occasion.
Um no. Im married with a kid and cook most days of the week. Eating out is so expensive. But men can cook too. And I work full time so don’t want to hear anything about providing as an excuse not to cook.
I hate cooking but when I was a step mom I did it every night despite also being the breadwinner so now I just prefer to wine & dine myself lol
