    Great video as always Sarah. I confess I do not like those echoey old waiting rooms at lonely stations. I always get a somewhat unnerving feeling in them.

      I must admit I get slightly paranoid someone will decide to lock up without checking if anyone's in there!

    Great video as always Sarah, still seems odd seeing 170s in EMR livery, especially the ex LM/WMT ones. Kind regards, Jake.

      I used to travel on LM a lot between Stoke-on-Trent and Northampton a fair few years ago so the old LM moquette makes feel like I've fallen back into 2011!

    Hey Sarah nice to see a Las into trains keep doing the vids. If you get a chance the weeting steam rally is on from the 19th July I recommend you go if you can for three reasons. 1st obviously is it's a steam rally with lots of various engines and displays I think you will enjoy 2nd there is a huge steam loco awaiting restoration on the site it's beautiful despite being in need of a lot of tlc but I think it and the rally will be good for one of you're videos 3rd the atmosphere it's something else the sounds, smells ect and the people are friendly and keen to talk and pass on the wealth of knowledge we are fast loosing from a bygone era. Anyway hope this is of interest and be assured I will be watching if you do a video best of luck girl 😊

      I've just had a look on the website for the Weeting Steam Rally and it looks like a brilliant event! I don't think I've got anything going on that weekend so watch this space! 🙂

    Those stations are quite lonely places, aren't they? This was a lovely little video - had my own train journey this morning which made my day as the return leg was on a Class 43 HST set.

    • @sarahwiththetrains
      @sarahwiththetrains  4 місяці тому +2

      They really are little out of the way places. I'm still yet to find anything quite so lonely as Berney Arms in Norfolk but I'm sure I'll find one! Glad you enjoyed the video! A Class 43 HST set would definitely make my day too!

      @@sarahwiththetrains I love the Class 43 because it was world-leading in its day, and it has become iconic. Even those who aren't train enthusiasts recognise them, so that says something. (On the other side, I have a peculiar fascination with the Pacer.... My local heritage line acquired one not too long ago.)

    Love your videos, my daughter lives in the small market town of Alford just 6 miles west of Skegness. We came to Skegness by train, at the time there were no Sunday morning services. Thank you so much for bringing the memories back to me. Love and best wishes to you.. God Bless. Xxx

    Excellent video as always Sarah, and well done visiting those two stations 👍
    10:45 I wonder if that's the world's smallest waiting shelter

    • @sarahwiththetrains
      @sarahwiththetrains  4 місяці тому +1

      Thanks Thornaby! It's certainly one of the smallest I've come across but I have seen old photos of Berney Arms where there was an absolutely tiny (arguable pointless shelter). Though I never saw it in the flesh.

    im liking both stations which look like lovely stations & the area & scenery in that area looks nice & nice to see the waiting rooms open which is rare for unstaffed stations as most waiting rooms tent to only open when theres staff at the stations brilliant vlog

      So glad you enjoyed it! I was very surprised that both those waiting rooms were open! Even at staffed stations they're not always open.

    Oh look 170502 is still stalking me again via UA-cam at the end of the video! 😂 But they do have some nice waiting shelter... inside different but some lovely buildings on the outside. 10:40 that waiting shelter is still at 100 times better than Barnhill in Scotland! Great video Sarah.

    Brilliant video Sarah, it's good to see you've finally managed to do these 2 stations. I wouldn't even call that waiting room at Havenhouse a waiting room, more like a tiny hut lol.

      @@QALibrary Back when I was in my late teens I had a friend who ended up stuck in London after somehow missing the last train from Euston to Stoke-on-Trent. If I remember rightly he spent the night hanging out in a 24hr Costa Coffee until the first train back at about 6am! I thought he must've been so daft to miss the last train and then about a year later I ended up stuck in Wigan having missed the last train to Piccadilly. Fortunately I was going out with someone who lived in Wigan at the time so I had a place to stay!

    Central Trains outlived Railtrack by a good few years.Railtrack didn't seem to have any interest in railways at all and they might have well have taken the Rail bit out of the name still Sir John Major knows best .
