youre the first reviewer to put into perspective between 60hz and 120hz on drawing, objectively a very thorough review out there on Ipad for illustrators, Im sold! thank you!
This time around the iPad Air actually makes a lot more sense. It saw no price increase (at least in Canada) at $799 CAD, storage doubled, and a solid chipset. The iPad Pro is $1399 CAD at 128GB and that's a lot harder to stomach for a tablet even with the features.
The price increase in other countries though😭 In here its already almost the same price as the ipad air 5 256 for the base model. A 20% increase.... Wouldve been nice if it stayed at its og base price but now its competing to the base s9 price already😭
In here the base air 11 is around 650 USD, while 256gb air 5 is around 630 lol wich is the same price as galaxy tab s9, while the last gen pro 11 128 still at 850. I don't think the m2 pro will come down since the m4 price is so high and also the m2 pro is getting rare now.
I'Mprepare myself for admission into Faculty of Architecture about innovative media design. What things must have for studying,Mid range Laptops + pen tablet or ipad/Samsung tab (depend on ecosystem in my university)
Which is better, the Samsung Tab S9 Ultra or the iPad Air 13inch? The Tab S9 Ultra is 850 and the iPad Air is 679, not to mention that it does not come with the Apple Pencil, which costs about 120.
@@alanchevalier4670 It's easiest to choose based on the apps you want to use. If you don't need iPad exclusive apps, maybe Samsung provides more value for money.

It's nice to hear someone else talking positively about the 11 in size iPad. I've mostly always heard tech reviewers say you should buy the 13 in model, and I've never understood why, maybe for some artists a buggers screen is better, but for a hobbyist and student, the 11 in model makes more sense: more comfortable, lighter, and enough screen size for many things. I actually wanted to buy the iPad mini, but for the price and compatibility with the new apple pencil, this new 11 in iPad air was my choice.
I'm technically an artist and also got the 11 inch Ipad Air 256gb. It's mainly for budget reasons and for me it's too big. I'm the type who if possible, would carry it around. While the 13 inch, or even the M4 Ipad Pro is very ideal and powerful, the price here in my country is too much. Besides, M2 chips are already powerful enough, and the Apple Pencil Pro is a huge upgrade.
@@zenyke I personally think if it’s okay artists or even note taking, and not too many games. However, if you do game especially ones that are kinda high res, or probably even do video editing, then go for 256gb at least for extra space. Just my recommendation.
Hey thanks so much for your review videos! Was thinking between oneplus pad 2 vs this and decided to go with this tab next month Your videos are very clear and detailed without all the unnecessary audios. Again thanks so much
Thanks for mentioning the screen heat issue, haven't seen any other reviewer brought that up! That too is what I'm experiencing with my ol' faithful 2017 pro when used outdoor. But I also read numbers of M4 owners complaining about overheat issue (the chip, not the screen) when using one particular drawing app.
People said that Air got problems with the over heat, is that right? I'm considering upgrade my ipad 7 into this air (11 inch ver), but if it's really over heat I should stop considering to buy this :'(
Hey thank you for the videos, I came to one of your videos on the huion kamvas slate and ever since I've been into a rabbit hole of your videos. I appreciate the depth of the reviews on how you would test it on multiple apps and test sketch just so we get to know the true artist user experience. Poco pad just released with POCO Smart Pen and I was just wandering if you could review it if possible? It would be cool since it is so affordable I wonder how it performs as an artist. But I would understand if you can't since it literally released just now. Cheers!
Not much difference. I am still using the 2018 iPad Pro which works fine. So any M1 or newer models can easily last 5-10 years depending on battery health by then.
It is difficult for me to recommend because all matte screen protectors will give you texture, but different brands will affect image quality in varying amount.
I bought the m2 IPad Air and the pencil, and I am not sure if my pencil pro is defective or not… the brush works fine and is decently fast in apps such as the notes and Freeform, but when I use drawing programs such as: Ibis paint X, clip studio, sketchbook. The lag is horrible. The brush struggles to catch up with the pencil pro. I don't understand what is going on.. Is it a software thing? Or is my pencil?
@@teohontech7141yeah, like I said, it's weird because I tested all the available brushes on the official Apple apps (notes and Freeform) and it is such a smooth and precise experience. The brush shapes don't glitch or anything crazy and the roll function is fine too. It's just on those other drawing apps I use (IbisPaint X)
It's good. The specs are good, and this has been colour calibrated. However, since it cannot be manually colour calibrated, I actually say how good it really is, and it does not match all my colour calibrated displays.
Choose based on the apps you need. Nowadays it’s easy to find tablets with good hardware so that’s not a differentiating factor anymore. I will review OnePlus Pad 2 and see if the limitations with previous OxygenOS is still there
is the 120 hz pro motion noticeably different on the M2 IPad Air versus the M1 IPad Pro ? The difference in the 512GB models between the M2 Air and the M4 IPad Pro is really enough to think twice. I will not be doing any heavy photo editing. Just illustrations, general media consumption, gaming, and maybe some animation. Right now I have the 128GB M1 IPad Pro.
You can try limiting your current ipad pro on 60hz to give it a feel of non pro motion. But I think the m1 pro is still sufficient for another year or 2 at least
ipad air does not have promotion. artists/animators have been animating in 30 and 60 fps for decades. 120hz animations doesnt even exist yet. the high refreshrate is noticeable for only the UI animations
