I'm a certified trash when it comes to card games but this one looks pretty fun, it's amazing what some people can do with an editor
Hell yeah, brother.
Substandardgames is an amazing dude and I hope his game will have even more success in the future. Most of it really isn't that hard, there just is so much fucking work behind it. The amount of time he must've spent on this game is insane.
I absolutely LOVE this arcade game. So happy that its getting the love it deserves. I hope you put out keystone videos. Thanks alot Grant
It's been around and played since wings.
Card game starcraft, didn't expect that one.
there _is_ fps starcraft, card game starcraft is hardly that surprising
Man back in the Warcraft 3 days I played a FPS, a physics based block breaking simulator and literally 300-hour long RPGs. The engines for warcraft/starcraft are awesome, so are the map making tools.
as a fellow infested deck player, i felt that first game in my soul, you never draw the pit when you need it
I've personally had the pit be the very last card in the deck multiple times
Moebius Crew player here - it hurts even more with a turn 1 Amon draw, because that card will SIT THERE until you lose.
New hearthstone update looks really nice
Games that go beyond turn 7? Blizzard is pushing new ground with this one
I recommend people try 2v2, it strikes a perfect balance between aggro decks and value oriented decks
It never ceases to amaze me how people manage to take the SC2 editor and make... Literally Hearthstone... IN Starcraft.
I actually tried this game because of your video and wow I'm amazed how addictive it is. Thanks a lot, would love to see more videos like this.
Man, this looks fun as heck. The single player looks like a fun way to grind, too! Guess I'm going to have a new timewaster for a while. Thanks for the explainer, GGG!
Been playing Keystone since beginning of time and have all the cards etc. The creator is incredibly dedicated to this and made this a game of his own. We used to host 1v1 tournament as well! It was real fun!
I'm the guy who made the logo and I'm proud about it to this day.. but man substandarddev is a machine. Let's hope he gets a standalone game at some point, he deserves it..
Would love to see you play more of this Grant!
wish more people play this arcade. it is so fun!!
Beginner Tips of Keystone:
Play 1 or 2 games in the tutorial, this will just give you nice time to familiarize with the game. You can also play 3v3s and put all the slots as AIs, this works too. Each game also gives you +100 credits for first few games (I believe 7).
After you are somewhat familiar, try playing against Nemesis with other players. It will give you a good opportunity to see other decks as well as see the decks of your allies and what things can happen. Beating Nemesis bosses for the first time also provide you bonus credits to (although don't go to far in as you most likely will be unable to beat higher challenge level ones). Try making an interesting deck.
I only play 3v3s so a good beginner deck is Infested. This is because the deck itself is fairly cheap and can put out good pressure. Structure base decks can work well in 3v3s and are often the cheaper side of decks so you can generally focus on that. After that, you can try out some more complicated decks or cheesy decks that would be fun to try!
I love this arcade game!!!
thank you so much for doing this - it is awesome ! please do more maps when possible.
You should play "warships" with the people from the 7 player coop wol its fun and relies heavy on team work to win
I am really appreciating you going over these arcade games. One of the reasons I only stick to a few of them is a bit of nervousness when joining arcade games I am unfamilar with and knowing full well that any teammates I have are going to be ticked that they get saddled with a noob. Watching these videos gives me a better idea of what is out there and how to start if I am interested. Would you be willing to try the Risk or Desert Strike arcade maps? I like playing those a lot so it would be fun to see how you do them.
If anyone here is ever interested in any of the Lotr maps you must, Must read the rules/guide *and* be willing to go all the way until the end. You will not understand Lotr unless ur committed until the end of a game because each player in a Lotr lobby influences the outcome of a game and quitting mid game ruins the experience for everyone. I recommend Lotr map Rotwk, its solo playable if ur interested in learning before playing but I highly recommend playing a full experienced lobby in a lotr map to best understand how to play.
Your thumbnails are always amazing
LOVED THIS VIDEO Would love to see more keystone videos I'm the future
FINALLY, been waiting for this for so long
I am pleased. This is one, if not the most, of my favorite games on the arcade, and I am happy to see it getting attention.
its one of my favorite arcade games by far, especially the nemesis mode,i spended hours of gameplay fighting against Ued,zagara and etc...
Oh no, I think you may have got me hooked on a card game-
Great choice for a video. It was really entertaining.
VERY VERY creative, holy crap this is downright amazing
I remember this arcade from back when I played SC2. It used to look way scrappier. Happy to see it's come so far
Hey not sure if you're taking suggestions. I made a map 2 years ago called "Odin's Call" in which one player takes control of the odin, like in Engine of Destruction (although their is a slight twist), while the other supports him with regular units. It was originally designed as a 2 player cooperative map but I built in single player funktionality. Jayborino also played through it in Quarantino 2020 and liked it (although that version differs a tiny bit from the arcade one).
This was unexpectedly intriguing and interesting to watch. Maybe I'll recommend it to a friend and see what mayhem we could cook up in here, heh.
this looks really good
I play this with a few of my friends, it's one of our favorite custom games
I'd watch more of these
Could you showcase Run Runling Run or Probe versus Zealot! I love both games but no one ever is on arcade playing them, getting some more members of the community on would be really nice. Thanks for making great content as always Grant!
Aw hell yeah Keystone! I know you said you want to focus on games that are multiplayer AND single player, but I'd love to see you cover Bunker Wars X at some point
Keystone is very fun, but it suffers from the usual "you need all/most of the cards to make a competitive deck". Also, the meta is very unforgiving as there are some decks that will wreck you unless you have very specific counters or deck. And trying to have answers to everything will just dilute your deck into uselessness.
I highly recommend people to try it but don't get discouraged when you get stomped again and again and again... 3v3 or "Ranked" is your friend as it tries to balance the teams according to win / lose ratio.
Also, also beating each nemesis at least once is mandatory for higher end plays, as each nemesis unlock more cards you can get in bonus packs or craft.
There are many types of decks you can make with different flavors and strategies, just be ready to find most of them sub par to the current meta 2-3 decks. I love my all battlecruisers and UED deck, even if they are sub par.
Been playing a bit of the randomizer mod for melee maps. Can get hilarious and insane.
you know what? you should do more of this
Played this few years ago. Interesting firing ass thing)
Watched the video. Booted up StarCraft 2 to play keystone for the first time. Good video.
that video thumbnail demolished me, thanks
I just started playing that game 2 days ago
When i played Starcraft 2, i basically only played Keystone xD
Just love it!
i love keystone i play it everyday. hey heres a suggestion for a future video, STARSHIP TROOPERS OP on the arcade.
I loved playing a game a lot like this in Warcraft 3, though it was real time without those turn pauses and didn't have that fancy PvE stuff.
Squadron Tower Defense is lit as hell to play if i had to recommend an arcade game :D
Why your hydras seemed to poof at 6:50 is that the enemy sent an aldaris. Aldaris sends units to your enemies spawn.
Oh looks like they've developed this quite a bit since I last played, nice
this game was relaly fun when i played it with my friends
i reccomend
This is actually kinda cool.
Such a solid game. Have you Show Cased Aliens versus Predators or Desert Tank Battle?
Dang, this was one of the last things I tried out before quitting sc2.
It looked interesting, but checking out the game lobbies for it was like staring at a barren desert.
Cool to see it actually got updated though, even added a boss mode.
The lobby come and go quick with keystone. If you don’t see one, open one and watch some video, etc. You’d be surprised how fast it fills up even at 3 am!
@@zhoumadeit I guess it grew in popularity since the time I tried it.
Not that surprising to be fair, it was quite a few years ago after all.
Keystone? YESS!!! I hope we can do it with a poll. It is good, except when the rng hates you.
GRANT GETS ME!!!
this seems very similar to "THE card game" (not "THE card game - Alien Pathways" which is another version of the same game) in the SC2 > arcade engine despite this being turn-based and the former being Real Time.
Well I'm gonna be trying this out
You should go play cute defence because this arcade game is really funny and cool
Reminds me somehow of Direct Strike.
Great mode you could try out too
this arcade is fucking fire !
I tried it out, I had fun.
Ah, Keystone. A classic!
I used to play this a lot until duplicated Gantrithor spam became a thing lel. Cool to see how far it's come since then.
Welp, resource limit in protoss was changed significantly, and while it is still possible to do, carriers fell off significantly
Dude comeback! The Late game toss spam is completely overhauled and invent is not nearly as dominant now.
LISTENING TEST POG
feels like heroic armies marching but with some key difference. I like the concept of the uphill spawn, but i fail to see the advantage other than starting at the map's midpoint
For example, this counters a very annoying terran card that puts two tanks in siege mode on that cliff.
Engagement for the engagement god!
When you play Overmind, would you lose if the enemy team played Gantrithor right after? OH FUCK!
Ok that game is realy cool
When I saw the thumbnail, I though you were going to play Yugioh
I am not against the idea of more of this. Although I don’t think I’ll ever want to play another card game after getting tired of hearthstone
Best thumbnail
I play both starcraft and yugioh
Another card game is taven battle. It is very good and very fun
Not sure if I would call it "card game", cause after reading the title I was expecting something more like Hearthstone (especially with that title) or MTG. think it should be called "card-driven game" or something like this. But seems very nice anyway and it's very enjoyable to watch You play it. There used to be a looot of similar game modes for WC3.
ME GO FACE SMOrc Clap
Neat
This is pretty interesting, but there's no way to see the stats of the units cards make? That seems weird.
When you mouse over a card it gives you extra details including stats for all of the units a card sends.
I haven't played this in a while, when did infest pit go from 100% to 99%?
pretty recently iirc; i think it was changed just so that infested mirror matches don't go on for ever and ever and ever and so on
But there is also a new building that does 75% so infested is overall stronger.
This is the only sc2 competive game I'm smart enough to play
Aww, no deck building basics? I was hoping you'd build a deck to show us the process of doing so.
It's a good fun game, but I feel you didn't show just how much matches can degrade into pure spell spam to constantly destroy any structure that ever shows up and constantly nuke units :P
do gem TD next!
CARD GAMES ON VULTURE-CYCLES
*Ahem*
You pronounce the space in gl hf
Did anyone say tournament
It's time to duuuueeell
Omg two blizzard games in one lol
Can you try out Rise of the Witch King and the LoTR genre? It may not be the most popular, but it has an active community and is super strategic
Could they include micro in this?
nope, no micro, it is a very fun map to chill for example with laptop without a use of keyboard
uhm can anyone help me, i dont know how to play this arcade games and play games with mods, can anyone teach me? im new to this online starcraft 2 stuff cuz i only play offline campaign most of the time. thx in advanced
This is neat but reeks of something I absolutely hate in games like this. In that first game if you had drawn Overmind at the start instead of at the end, for example, it would've been like 50% easier.
The bots suck tho, this isn't even half the hell happening in multiplayer
The word for the second gamemode you did waa pve
Do you still play keystone?
how to get the ai to work
Can i play this without buying sc2?
Yes, all arcade games can be played for free
@@zaxtonhong3958 cool thanks
If I recall correctly theres no 'sc2' to buy anymore, it's now a f2p model
@@protoss5758 you have to buy some features
As a MTG player, hearing you refer to holding onto cards as “micro” sounds weird.
this isnt THE card game
