this video reminded me of the futurama episode where there are these "neutral guys" and they kill all the neutrals or whatever so there's this one scene where a dying one is like "tell my wife i said... ...hello." because that's like a neutral thing to say
Yep, the problem with these "puzzles" is that they are wayyyyy too linear, usually you don't even have to evaluate the entire position, just look and deduct checks. It would be much better to have 5-10 step open-ended puzzles that rewarded you for finding the moves that gave you an advantage or improved your position, as it would teach the player to actually analyze and improve on a position instead of looking for obvious winning moves. Like, it's great to know how to checkmate, but you still have to get to a position in a game to be able to checkmate in the first place 😂
How do you visualize so well and quickly??! I am 2100 and 2000 in chesscom and lichess puzzles respectively but I take tens of minutes per puzzle because I get confused when it's a long series of moves, I get lost and can't see the pieces or forget about some bishop in the corner. This has also led me to blunder a lot in games and get stuck at 1300, how did you train your visualization??
Oh lord I'm back with another comment because I don't know what this video did to my head but I had a dream starring iwantcheckmate's voice and him talking about chess for 1 hour- yup that's all I remember imma just not sleep anymore i guess
How did you get as strong as you are? I feel like we are about equal at these puzzles and I can generally solve even the 2500 rated ones within a minute. But it still seems that I cant get better at actual chess Ive been at 1500 rapid/1200 blitz for years now. No matter how good I get at tactics I still blunder once every 30 moves or so which makes me lose the game
Hey! A big part of transitioning through that rating area is learning chess concepts. I recommend any of the Artur Yusupov books (especially Build Up Your Chess) for this. Learning about strategic patterns and seeing examples of how to use them will push your rating up and mold your intuition. I’m not the strongest of players of course but that was my experience :)
Merry Christmas! In the last video I also blundered with free bishop telling you it was on h3, it was actually h6. Luckily I was able to edit my comment 😅
29:16 "Check take my rook, I cry, I gave up a free rook" 🤣🤣
These things happen smh 😪😪
Another great video keep making them thanks for the shoutout pawns are worth 1 point
Of course! :)

I have no strong opinion one way or the other.
Been loving the content, comment for the algorithm
Appreciate that! :)
13:36 as a ~1200: never in game, but yes in this puzzle.
Then again I solved 15:05, so maybe I am better at puzzles than actual game 😅
27:43 - there are probably hundreds of 600 elo that just wanted a check here and found out that they solved the puzzle.
LOL
As someone who has done 100 puzzles, i still blunder all the time💀

Practice makes perfect! I’ve been playing chess my whole life and also got into playing blindfold chess, which I may do on this channel soon.
