21:22 Mick-" So you're hearing some sort of rhythmic thing there aren't you?" Dan-"yeah" Proceeds to assassinate Red and burn the pedal shed to ashes. No words man. One of the most incredible things I've ever seen someone do on a guitar. Dan crossed over to the other side and was spirit walking. Holy shit.
carl i respectfully disagree, especially considering it was more or less improv’d on the spot. The inspiration Dan was feeling in that moment really came through in the performance, and i think that speaks to a lot of us.
In the era of digital modeling and music with less and less guitar influence, this channel has become my refuge. The genuine friendship and way you both admire one another is the icing on the cake. While I believe modeling and profiling has its place, there’s nothing better than sitting in a room like this and letter er’ rip!
Wow, great sounds guys (well we would say that wouldn't we?!). Just to clarify: the Binson hadn't been maintained for years - it came to us in need of total restoration (like a barn find classic Ferrari) as most of them do. The good news is, once we've completely overhauled them like the one on the show, they should run and run (with a little regular maintenance - oiling/cleaning) for the next decade or two (or three or four). They really were built to last. As I told Dan when he visited - when I found my Baby Binson many years ago, it had been dry stored in a loft for 25 years: it fired up spluttering and popping and with a gentle shove to get the drum moving it basically ran and worked (though did need a good runthrough and set up). They are amazing - so good to hear you playing through it!
My local guitar shop has one in for sale if you are looking for another to give some love to. www.soundsgreatmusic.com/products/binson-echorec-b1s-serial-number-5214-second-hand
Old electronics takes alot of TLC (replacing caps, servicing mechanics etc..). Great to hear this stuff alive after many years. As I get older, I am starting to believe that "Mojo" is a real thing. You know it when you see/hear it and it hits the emotions, but it remains undefinable.
An inspired Dan is quite a thing to listen to. I can’t recall ever seeing him play finer. He took the ride. We’ve all been there, but wow! With that sound and his Tele and his eyes in the back of his head. That was a hefty schwang indeed!
That’s how it works! Mick here. We both say we can’t play unless the tone is good, and this is the difference. What inspires you is the thing that matters most!
I started this show then went into an adjacent room for a moment... What I heard made me come back, turn it way up, and start over. (I'm playing these videos on a surround/theater sound system.) Incredible. A fitting finale for That Pedal Shed!
TPS is all about the search for better tone for me. Ending with the best tone you guys can muster couldn't be more suiting. Good its not THE ending and the story will hopefully continue for years to come. My search for better tone is definitely not over and you guys can definitely teach me tons of more ways to improve it. I saw a great rock band yesterday. Two guitarists and a bassplayer who all used the G2 switching systems on pedalboards sized like medium aircraft carriers and they sounded awesome. I bet they would not sound as great without you. keep spreading the good tones, your philosophy and your fabulous show ! Thanks.
This reminds me of what I’ve been trying to justify with my own rig and that’s the creation of a fully produced sound LIVE. We double or triple or quadruple tracks of and effects on guitars when recording but now we also have the power to get those big sounds live and, if you want to be inspired night after night, you need your tone to transport you to that magic place like where y’all get in this video.
Awesome!! My "poor man's" way of getting nice wet/dry sound is: guitar to drive/comp/boost pedals to super champ x2, then it goes to torpedo captor loadbox and splits, normal speaker output with 20db att to the combo's speaker for dry tone, xlr output from the captor goes to xlr imput of pod hd500x for stereo reverb delay and modulations and then straight to monitors (with captors analog speaker sim), or to computer with wall of sound plugin and then to monitors. SOUNDS GREAT (at least at my apartment) :)
So many moments where i'm just grinning ear from ear, or yelling out "come on" cause it's just sooo good! Both you gents blow me away and inspire to get better and play more. Far out what an episode!
+Jacob K Guitar cheers J, I got a bit carried away, but the battle is as much about not being self conscious, and allowing yourself to be carried away ;)
This video... encompasses EVERYTHING that is magical and glorious about the world of guitar. There was not one minute that I wasn't smiling from ear to ear from the expression that was coming from both you fellows. Love you guys to pieces!
I love Mick's laugh at 15:18. And at 21:45 Dan loses his ever-loving mind. Great episode, guys. That was a proper send off for That Pedal Shed. I look forward to the new digs.
Dan, your playing was particularly amazing today. The wet/dry/wet rig is pretty cool, but your playing is really something. Thank you for making a great video and congratulations to you both on your time and success in That Pedal Shed. I look forward to the great videos I am sure you'll make at your new location.
also after scrolling through most of the other comments here I gotta say, Mick doesn't get enough love for how good his playing is. Sorry for only talking about Dan in my first comment!
Professor Mick and Dan! You have made the tools for soundscape turn into inspiration! Every week we all tune in to see what The Professors will bring to the pedal board room! Bravo!
I swear you guys read my mind every week and know just what I’m struggling with. Just got my second Marshall lead 12 which is a kind of affordable jtm 45. I’m going to run them wet dry wet with my matchless lightning which is more ac15ish in the middle. You guys rock!!
I keep scrolling up to like this video… again… and again… when in reality I hit like right after the opening jam when you guys were just laughing out of excitement/enjoyment/sheer disbelief at the incredible tone and inspiration it provided. This video sums up everything great about the show that you have built up… highlighting quality gear, finding what works and what doesn’t, giving us all food for thought and new ideas in our own rigs, and having just a great time doing it. Can’t wait to see what the new location brings to the show!
Guaranteed entertainment and education. On headphones this sounds awesome - I am really going to have to get a harmonic tremolo to go with the delay pedals. Really looking forward to the new venue. Onwards and upwards :)
So good to see you guys get lost in the sound and all excited with it. This flow of raw emotions is what makes TPS amazing instead of another good gear channel. Thank you so much!!!
From halfway around the world, (Portland, Oregon, USA) the sound of That Pedal Shed being blown to splinters is still echoing (with infinite repeats) in my ears! Thank you both for being my "Friday treat" and can't wait to see/hear you in your new space. Cheers! 💥🎸💥
The 'clarity' comes from the wet sounds framing a 3D image in your mind.... Time for me to blow the cobwebs off my Echorec and a few other delay pedals and do some signal splitting fun times into a few nice amps ... Farewell ye old Pedal Shed...
Looking forward to seeing the new digs. Bit of perspective: thirty grand is a typical outlay for a symphony player's instrument alone. If that sound inspires you it is cheaper than music school ;-)
So do we - we just heard back from a customer who bought an Echorec 2 off us - said it constantly inspired him every time he switched it on - written loads of music as a result. This is why we search for the good stuff - it's not about 'collecting' or 'cool' - all about what that gear can do for your music...
I run w/d/w now all the time. It is glorious. You guys originally inspired me to do so, and watching you revisit and rave about this so much really is enjoyable to me. Love you guys.
Grab your headphones and close your eyes. Awesome! After about 17:00 Dan needs a cigarette and Mick needs to cover his lap with his strat. Ohh baby, what a sound!
Unquestionably the best guitar sound I've heard from you blokes in all the time I've been watching your channel. The wet/dry or wet/dry/wet really is the way to play with heavy effects in use. The clarity and note articulation, along with the sense of space is incredible.I should also add that you don't need a stupidly expensive collection of gear to pull this off. That's the beauty of it: you can string together a number of affordably priced amps and effects in the right way and make it sound immense.
Without a doubt that is the best I've heard both you guys play. Ever. That was an absolute joy to watch. I wish I could have heard it in the room! Goodbye That Pedal Shed. Can't wait to see the new place!
What a segue into the new digs!! I think you did The Shed justice. Best of luck this week with the move. If you get a chance, I need some advice. I am on my way to pick up a 1968 Fender Bassman head in the morning. I am using a Mesa Boogie Transatlantic 15 into the matching 112 cab on the left, Boss Katana 100 into an Egnater/Guitar Warehouse 112 on the right, the Fender Bassman will be matched with an Allen Organ Gyrophonic rotary 212 cabinet in the center. I am currently running a wet/dry, with an ABYBaby, Katana and Mesa Boogie. Would I be better off with another ABYBaby, or the Humdinger to setup a Wet/Dry/Wet?
Oh my goodness gracious giddy auntieness!!! What an extraordinary bunch of beautiful, beautiful BEAUTIFUL TONES!!!!! It really is a joy to see you both transported by inspiration - all the way to a new shed. Please do a band thing. Please.
Doc Holiday I was inspired! The way you could see they were moved by the sound that was coming out and how they were continually speechless made me feel like I wanted to cry! When they got carried away playing, oh man! That's not something you see everyday!
Sure, I kinda already knew what you were saying with that but I was just messin' with you:P But yeah, you're right, just imagine what the sound must have been like, actually being there in the room
Dan and Mick, what a great show. I’ve been playing about 18 months and suck as I don’t practise nearly enough but before I bought my first guitar I was hooked on TPS and Andertons channel. I’ve learnt all I know from mainly these two channels. Your show is a treasure chest of information and passion. I was waiting for this episode yesterday and what a show this was. I was laughing with you guys and sharing your unbridled joy and love for what you were doing. I am sure everyone else was also. Many many thanks for the weekly treat your show is. Keep it up please as I need my dose of TPS.
Thank you David. Practise is important, but sound good is just as important in our opinion. Some days you need the motivation to pick the guitar up and the prospect of great sound has the magical ability to provide it. Keep on pickin’, and thanks for watching.
Hey Bill, Mick here. It’s everything we talk about when we say that great tone inspires better playing. It just elevates everything and is a perfect example of why connecting with your tone is not only important but essential in this whole thing. Granted, this rig was a bit ridiculous, but the results are there for all to witness. Dan was totally in another place. That’s why we do this. :0) Thanks for watching!
You’re doing a service in grand fashion; especially for those of us who have a history of accumulating gear that gets traded down the road. I’ve come to accept that what sounds good in the music store may not be so great when I get it home, and as such, just chalk it up as “part of the fun” of playing guitar. I fall in the camp of NOT tech savvy and your show definitely helps players like me. Thank you.
Have you guys ever thought about making an album together? you guys are both great singers & players so regardless if you guys did songs or instrumentals....covers or originals i think alot of people including myself would love to have that piece of work!!!
Thankyou Dan, Mick and Simon for all of your great work in the shed, I'm sure you have alot to look forward in your new abode. Thankyou for bringing this combination of classic gear in today, it is sincerely appreciated. Your music certainly transcended as a result of your efforts. What a glorious sound. thankyou. cheers
Later today my dad is dropping off a couple amps he isn't using anymore... So I'm thinking my Twin or Astoria (or his Deluxe) in the center with his Power Chorus on one side and my Princeton Chorus on the other... stereo wet/dry/stereo wet... with a TC Mimiq... Neighbors beware!
I'll miss the pedal-shed / man-cave concept. Wish you guys could do a show on analog solid-state amps - like the Peavey Bandit - and its pros/cons over tube or DSP amps.
José Roriz I will take a guess, and say they don't care for Solid-State amps, analog or digital. But I'd like to see a show where they play and explain what the difference is. I've heard from many amp guys before, but I'm sure Dan would have an awesome way to explain it.
Other than past videos, I don’t think we’ll see it. TPS is all about finding your best tone so that it inspires you to play better and even the tone inspiring you to write. Some transistor amps can sound great in the right context, but nobody’s using a JC-120 as a pedal platform. They have an amazing clean sound and they’re have tons of headroom. Normally that’s what you want after your pedals - but the difference is that tubes clip in a more musical way. It’s hard to escape that. I imagine that someday they may find a way to change that, but for now do yourself a favor and get a tube amp. Not a hybrid or anything with micro tubes, it doesn’t even have to be fancy, expensive or have more than 5 Watts. Once you’ve spent some time with it, you’ll understand. I heard the same thing for 20 years before I finally decided to go tubes, and I’m not looking back.
Tremendous close to a chapter of “That Pedal Show” ! The tones were from another world. I can’t begin to say how much I look forward to Friday’s as well as any other day you post a video. I’m glad you summed up the cost of those tones. Yikes! It keeps my feet grounded, but can’t stop me from dreaming. Thanks so much Mick and Dan for all you do for guitar players worldwide. May you have much success in your new digs. Now let me go grab my guitar and Rock On! Inspiring!!
That is my set up. I split a stereo chorus, barely any effect to the dry center two amps, and two separate stereo signals to the two wet amps/cabs, two on either side of the dry stereo.... I get the neighbors asking me to turn it down from time to time.. One neighbor was two streets over... But , really such an unreal sound experience...
21:22 Mick-" So you're hearing some sort of rhythmic thing there aren't you?" Dan-"yeah"
Proceeds to assassinate Red and burn the pedal shed to ashes. No words man. One of the most incredible things I've ever seen someone do on a guitar. Dan crossed over to the other side and was spirit walking. Holy shit.
M Low he made me cry 😭
it was good, but it wasn't that crazy.
carl i respectfully disagree, especially considering it was more or less improv’d on the spot. The inspiration Dan was feeling in that moment really came through in the performance, and i think that speaks to a lot of us.
Thanks for this comment! That was so inspired. Suddenly he was off, and it was glorious!
I like the fact that for the final show at the old Pedal Shed they use 3 amps to say goodbye to everyone within a 1/4 mile of the place. Well done!
This is literally the best guitar sound I’ve ever heard
Hooray!
+WeeklyGuitarVideos yes! Fantastic :)
In the era of digital modeling and music with less and less guitar influence, this channel has become my refuge. The genuine friendship and way you both admire one another is the icing on the cake. The section around 32:39 is the best I've heard Dan play. And I'm pretty sure I've watched every episode. That was awesome!
21:29
Awesome doesn't describe this episode. It's so much more than awesome.
It's overwhelming.
Thanks Carl! It’s what we keep banging on about. Great tone = inspiration. Thanks for watching!
September 2020. Still the best guitar sound in history.
"Same old licks, totally different experience"
I'm sorry Mick but that deserves it's own T-Shirt! :D
Fancy FA this comment deserves more attention
Wow, great sounds guys (well we would say that wouldn't we?!).

Where are you from? Sounds Great is my local shop too.
@Dan 21:24
GOOOOOOD GOD! That is THE BEST I have ever hear you play. That was friggin' AWESOME!!!
When Dan finds that rhythm... perhaps the best I've ever heard him play! Good vibes.
The best episodes are the ones where Dan gets emotional from the tone. What an amazing sound!
Honestly might be one of the THE BEST guitar tones I've ever heard. Thank you.
I appreciate how perfectly the tuning knobs on Dan's tele are aligned
+Marcus Choi hahaha, yep, hadn’t even noticed
33.5 minutes in and Dan's sounding like YES. The band YES. The whole band. Great show!
Glorious, not leaving with a whimper that's for sure, always good to leave on a high.
I started this show then went into an adjacent room for a moment... What I heard made me come back, turn it way up, and start over. (I'm playing these videos on a surround/theater sound system.) Incredible. A fitting finale for That Pedal Shed!
I don't think I have ever seen Dan this inspired. Awesome episode!
There we are. Mick here. Great sound is everything. :0)
“Where words fail, music speaks.” ― Hans Christian Andersen.
Truly inspired playing. Looking forward to the next chapter of TPS.
TPS is all about the search for better tone for me. Ending with the best tone you guys can muster couldn't be more suiting. This episode reminded me of why I love this Show--honest emotions and a genuine connection to your craft.
That Space Echo Show.
The playing toward the latter part of the video is something special. Kudos to the both of you.
Dan never played this brilliant and this wonderful before.
Totally. It just proves that sound absolutely inspires. It’s way more than gain and EQ - it’s connection!
I listened to 21:30-23:18 more than 20 times already. Inspired playing. Even my wife was blown away.
Enki Ea
no, but you should be afraid anyway
Dan's tone at the videos opening is simply amazing! Wow!
WET/WET/WET.........
Peter Honoré
DO IT! DO IT NOW! GET TO THE CHOPPER!
Wet/Wetter/Wettest!!!
I'm wondering if tremolo qualifies as a wettener. 😯
SULTANS OF SOUND
23:02 - all that went before and now with fuzz, through headphones. Utterly. Completely. Speechless.
@12:45 - serious early Rush tone with the semi-hollow and CE-1. "A Passage to Bangkok (Live)" for instance. Awesome.
This is the episode I revisit to see Dan in a seriously inspired mood.
This is at least the 3rd time I’ve watched the entire episode. So good, so good!
Same
What a rig! Brilliant way to see That Pedal Shed off, looking forward to That Pedal Upstairs Room You Haven't Officially Named Yet.
So many moments where i'm just grinning ear from ear, or yelling out "come on" cause it's just sooo good! Both you gents blow me away and inspire to get better and play more. Far out what an episode!
That Dan Jam at 21:23 ! Holy horse!
+Jacob K Guitar cheers J, I got a bit carried away, but the battle is as much about not being self conscious, and allowing yourself to be carried away ;)
Just so you know, I come back to this video frequently for inspiration. That jam is beyond ace.
I'm listening on a 4K tele and to my ears it's 30k well spent. The sound on the intro playing was unbelievable.
All I can say is “going out with a bang”
Kicked it way past 11 on this one 👏
This video... encompasses EVERYTHING that is magical and glorious about the world of guitar. There was not one minute that I wasn't smiling from ear to ear from the expression that was coming from both you fellows. Love you guys to pieces!
Dan, that opening was an epic sound!

Mates!!! Such gratitude. PERFECT episode to close a chapter. You are all amazing.
Dan at 21:48 OH MY GOD
Ah, cheers mate ;)
It was ridiculously good.
41 minutes of pure justified self indulgence. A great sign off to That Pedal Shed. Looking forward to seeing the new place, guys.
The House That Schwang Built!!!!
also after scrolling through most of the other comments here I gotta say, Mick doesn't get enough love for how good his playing is. Sorry for only talking about Dan in my first comment!
That sound is galactically spiritual!
I have more enjoyment watching this show than watching tv..I learn from this show..
opening tone was IRRESPONSIBLE
So big when you're listening with headphones.
I keep scrolling up to like this video… again… and again… when in reality I hit like right after the opening jam when you guys were just laughing out of excitement/enjoyment/sheer disbelief at the incredible tone and inspiration it provided. Man, those sounds really made you play with inspiration. Awesome music! Thank you.
Best episode ever!!! The enthusiasm was incredible. The playing was incredible. This is why I come back every week.
I'm a man of simple tastes. I see a Pedal Show video, I watch and like
Guaranteed entertainment and education.

Some of the best tones yet! The sounds you got out of this rig were truly inspiring.
Goodbye, That Pedal Shed!
Well deserved 👏 for Dan’s playing on this one. The 21-23 minute mark was epic. 🤤
Looking forward to seeing the new digs. Bit of perspective: thirty grand is a typical outlay for a symphony player's instrument alone. If that sound inspires you it is cheaper than music school ;-)

Grab your headphones and close your eyes. Awesome! After about 17:00 Dan needs a cigarette and Mick needs to cover his lap with his strat. Ohh baby, what a sound!
Clayton Duguay lol!
What was that he was playing? Was it a song or improv? Sounded sick. Super cheesey and 80s sounding but so badass lol.
Unquestionably the best guitar sound I've heard from you blokes in all the time I've been watching your channel. The wet/dry or wet/dry/wet really is the way to play with heavy effects in use. Wet Dry Wet is a great band/song name
Better than Wet Wet Wet for sure ;-)
dreamlike :-0
Maybe for a Wet Wet Wet tribute band who hasn't quite figured out the songs...
30 grand of glory!!! Love this. What a great way to say goodbye to That Pedal Shed. Look forward to seeing the new place!
24:55 TO 26:05 BEST FUZZ TONE YOU GUYS HAVE EVER GOT!
So true!! The best Dan played ever (Imho)
The perfect closing chapter for this phase of That Pedal Show!
$30k is a bargain when the tone is priceless!
The way the Boss CE1 tugs Mick's gain structure apart at 13:47 is one of the best electric guitar sounds I've ever heard🔥🔥🖤❤
Gents, thanks for the 223 (by my reckoning) brilliant episodes to date. Here's to many more in your new crib!! Keep on truckin'!!
In terms of tone, it can't get any better than that
Ok guys, you finally made me do it. An Echocord Mini is on the way, courtesy of German ebay.
Nice little machines - hope it's ok - watch out for the pinch roller: they can dry out.
Oh my goodness gracious giddy auntieness!!!
What an extraordinary bunch of beautiful, beautiful BEAUTIFUL TONES!!!!!
It really is a joy to see you both transported by inspiration - all the way to a new shed. Please do a band thing. Please.
+Matthew Collis-Long cheers Matt, yes, we have plans for band thing for sure, really looking forward to it :)
Damn, you guys got me emotional!
So what do you mean, you got angry? Confused, happy...? Define your emotionz plzzz...
Guys ... 80s classics right there. Def Leppard tonez and 80s Clapton! Captain lee would be jealous .
That FY-6 sounds gnarly! Maybe an episode on vintage 60s all out fuzzes? Companion, Fuzzrite, Park fuzz etc. 😬
Yeah. Nice!
Seconded!
Beginning to believe that the positive vibes and love coming out of those echo units might just save the world
Well, it has more hope than the Trump & Kim Show. :0)
Dammit am I gonna have to get a third amp!? I can’t get away from wet/dry because of you two! 😂
Dan and Mick, what a great show. I’ve been playing about 18 months and suck as I don’t practise nearly enough but before I bought my first guitar I was hooked on TPS and Andertons channel. Thank you David. Practise is important, but sound good is just as important in our opinion. Some days you need the motivation to pick the guitar up and the prospect of great sound has the magical ability to provide it. Keep on pickin’, and thanks for watching.
Danish Pete ! Yes !!!
Man, this is the first time I've seen Dan so tuned into the tones that you can see and hear him pulling out so many tasty riffs, AWESOME... Cheers!
AMEN, brother!!
Shit! Dan TEARING IT Up at the 21 minute mark. GO DAN GO! Such inspiring tone!
Ah, cheers Rei, we talk about how great time can connect and inspire, this is an example of what can happen :)
Dan seriously needs to build a song around those riffs (and that tone) and release it. I'll buy it!
This is my favorite moment of any episode they have done. Dan was in the zone.
ReiCow that section was INSANELY exciting - astonishing tone and playing. Section on a loop. With wine. Happy days (and nights)
How that sound makes us feel is what music if for. Thank you TPS for years of inspiration.
+Daniel Bertola you’re most welcome :)
Damn! sorry for the double comment but you know the tone is GREAT when you’re “watching” a UA-cam video with your eyes closed!
Ah, cheers Nathan, yep, some very special tones today, an absolute joy to play
Nathan Brown ditto. For me too
You’re doing a service in grand fashion; especially for those of us who have a history of accumulating gear that gets traded down the road.
Ah, cheers DB. It’s something we’ll look at when we’re in our new place, we’d both love to do something
I'd listen to that.
Ooh! And the Ric 360/12! HAHAHA!!!
Yes yes yes!
AAAWWWW MMMAAANN!! That bit around 25-26 minutes in was sooo good
I'll miss the pedal-shed / man-cave concept.
Wish you guys could do a show on analog solid-state amps - like the Peavey Bandit - and its pros/cons over tube or DSP amps.
José Roriz
I will take a guess, and say they don't care for Solid-State amps, analog or digital.
But I'd like to see a show where they play and explain what the difference is. I've heard from many amp guys before, but I'm sure Dan would have an awesome way to explain it.
They did something similar. Check out, Do We Like Transistor Amps from about a year ago.
Everything Mmmichelin said is right ,evveryything ! Not kiddin.
Inspiring!!
I guess the next level is
Wet-Wet-Dry-Dry-Wet-Wet
AP 74 They’d need a Four-Rock Amp for that one, I think
That is my set up. I split a stereo chorus, barely any effect to the dry center two amps, and two separate stereo signals to the two wet amps/cabs, two on either side of the dry stereo.... I get the neighbors asking me to turn it down from time to time.. One neighbor was two streets over... But , really such an unreal sound experience...
Good lord....what a one to go out on! Best of luck with the move guys, cant wait to see the new space!
