I just ordered a recumbent trike HD T525 twin brake system.. The Tektro site does say the hose lengths for both calipers and lever all have to be cut.. And the Tektro Ogden website doesn't mention that this "bled" system was set up for a delta trike and not a Tadpole trike.. Why would they "bleed the hydraulic system" if all the hoses need to be cut..That only lets air bubbles into the system which requires bleeding the system again.. here is what comes in the kit: lever with 6' of hose, two calipers with a foot extra hose than is needed for any tadpole. This kit requires cutting all the hoses and compression fittings (olive and barbs) for each of the 3 lines.. YET THAT IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE KIT. I got to my appointment to have it installed and they don't carry Olive and Barbs) and that appointment (because of covid) took me 2 weeks to get.. i had to pay for the appointment, that nothing could be done, while we wait for a second appointment (another 2 weeks away) for them to install...
Why the hell doesn't this kit (that requires cutting all the lines), not come with required olive/bar fittings to install..? And why didn't the website mention it is for a delta trike..? And why is a hydraulic system that requires cutting all the lines even bled just so you have to re-bleed this system to get the air bubbles out.. Tektro leaves a lot to be desired.. All tadpole trikes use the exact same lengths of these hoses because they don't vary in length.. Deltas require different length depending on the riders Xseem...

    Thanks for the instructive video.
There is something confusing at 5:05 when you removed the brake pads and then you put them back, what was the purpose of that step??
And I think that it's unnecessary to remove the brake lever because on some bikes it's very hard to remove the handle grip!

When I tried to slip the olive back up over the hose, once the barbed insert was pressed home, it was too tight. It didn't 'slip', it had to be driven on. Every video I've watched shows this easily sliding up into place. It doesn't. Why?

Front brake hose should be routed against the inside of the fork.

Forks usually have one or two guides for the hose.

Use an 8 mm open end torque wrench to tigthen it down to 6 Nm, which I clearly do not own, but because of my video cutting skills nobody will ever notice :D

6Nm is force produced by application of about 0.6kg with 1m shoulder. With 10cm spanner it is equivalent of 6kg. It is not a big deal to remember roughly what pressure it generates in your fingers, when tightening by hand.

Am I the only person who bleeds brakes with the caliper and brake pads installed on the bike? Never had an issue.

Black background/apron... and black hose is impossible to see.. please consider using a white apron/tabletop background when filming assembly of a black hose assembly.. You might as well filmed this demonstration in the dark... We can't see what your doing..

it would be nice IF THE TORX SCREW DIDN'T STRIP COMPLETELY WHILE TRYING TO BLEED THE BRAKES.

Looks more like a boot than a cover for the securing nut. This method encourages twists in the hose. The compression fitting I have found to be called an olive.
That injector? Let's call it a syringe.
The alcohol solution is IPA, Isopropyl Alcohol. Come on, make it easier for people to know what they should be buying.
