- Welcome back to my channel and today I will be showing you my latest flying report with Malaysia's newest budget airline, MYAirline from Kuala Lumpur to Kuching. Many are excited about this airline as there are only three airlines dominant the sky in between peninsula and Borneo. With this new airline as well as rival airline company, it increases Malaysia's aviation competitiveness for sure. During boarding, I heard some passengers telling the ground staff and cabin crew how happy they are about this airline. "We are here to support your airline", "So happy, finally new airline is here", "We are so sick of xxx and xxx. Their airfares are crazy"
Today's flight was a full flight (98% passengers loading). Their staff are amazing. You can feel the enthusiasm and vibes, from check in to boarding to onboard. Since there are still not many flights, you could see some cabin crew helping at the check in counters and boarding gate. Their maiden flights are to Langkawi, Kuching and Kota Kinabalu. During the meal service, all passengers were given a free bottle of drinking water. I'm not sure if it's because due to their new launching or this practice would actually go on. It's a wonderful gesture from the airline which I appreciate it a lot. Onboard, there is no sales of merchandise and inflight magazine. I guess probably they would present onboard.
All in all, it's a wonderful experience. I truly enjoy it. I sincerely hope this airline would soar high and further, expanding their routes to more destinations, both domestic and international.

@MYAirline your website is impossibly difficult to navigate and selecting your date of birth requires you to manually scroll until you reach the appropriate date. What's going on?
@@nigelamritch6712 I know. If you are young age, it is easy to reach your year. But if you are old age, you have to keep scroll down long pages to reach your old year😁

Air travel is a necessity for us East Malaysians due to the poor road conditions. Hoped this airline will provide a better alternative to others with more competitive and affordable air fares... All the best

Great review my friend! I did the Langkawi to Kuala Lumpur sector and was also very impressed by the whole flight experience. I’m hoping they commence the Singapore route so that I can fly with them more often too.
Thanks for dropping by. Though I just boarded the plane, I still enjoyed watching others' vlogs. I'm sure Singapore will be their part of their route network because passenger traffic in between KUL and SIN is very high. Let's stay tune to this once they receive more aircrafts.
I'm sure Singapore will be their first international destination. Followed by Bangkok, Jakarta and Manila. These routes bring good money.

Most importantly, hope Myairline can get reasonably consistent in their customer service quality & not end up the same level of customer service as Airasia down the line in coming 5-10 years. That will be the real test then.
Exactly, the rest will be a real test for them in the next few years. I hope they can survive well and soar high in the sky.

I think that is pu leather and not genuine leather. That's why it feels harder plus the padding is thinner. No straight enforcement yet for 7kg cabin luggage rule but i believe they are going to implement soon.
They should distinguish the colour branding to different colours other than red as it already familiar with Air Asia. Yellow or Orange would be nicer and fresh!

This budget airline doesn't seem budget. Seriously they are way better than most of the major carriers in the States and Europe. Crew are so friendly.

I think this is the only airline in Southeast Asia to have the flight attendants maskless onboard, that's great to start the new normal
They are not. AirAsia also gives the option to both crew and passengers to go maskless.

9M-DAC was ex Frontier Airlines, the other aircraft was from Thai Air Asia.

Thanks for watching my video. Yes it’s the same as other airline. Regarding luggage, I’m afraid I can’t give you an accurate answer because I travelled light at that time. But I think probably you can add on according to your situation. Sorry if my comment doesn’t help much.

I will answer some because most of the answers can be found in the video. On time performance is good at this time, however, I believe no airline likes to purposely delay their plane because time is money except there are some situations like bad weather, passengers go missing or busy with duty-free shopping and forget the boarding time, technical issue, busy air traffic controller. During my flight, the flight was delay a little bit (15 mins) due to one passenger missing. As for the food, it taste quite similar to AirAsia's food. Probably they temporarily used their catering service as MYAirline is still a very new airline. I bought low fare ticket when it the airline was first launched. Thanks for dropping by.
Wow, good review! But I want to ask, so if we want to get the boarding pass ticket, it should be on the check-in counter? just go through into the counter then ask for the boarding pass even there is no bag to put on the cargo section?
Thanks for your kind words Fathiah. Regarding the check in counter, I actually forgot to check-in online so what I did was I joined the queue (I have no luggage as well) and asked for the ground staff to help me print the boarding pass. Luckily they did it for me. I guess probably after some time they might start impose a fee just like other budget airlines.

Yes, you can check in online like the other airline. To be safe, please print the ticket. I have two incidents happened to me at KLIA2. First, the lady security officer at the domestic departure area disallowed me to enter and asked me to get a printed copy from the counter. Second time, after two months, I used mobile ticket, I was able to get in, the machine can scan my e-boarding pass. Hope it helps.

What I really want to know is their baggage policy? Are sport equipment such as bicycles/ golf sets/ scuba gear free of charge or count towards baggage allowance.
Unfortunately I don’t have this information nor I checked in any sports equipment during my flight. Perhaps you may refer to the official website or customer service agent for more detailed information.

Uniform too casual.....crew beed to groom their hair. Since doing food service i suggest that all female crew tie up their hair.....look neater n more hygienic

For the time being, yes. The price is very affordable and the airline has just begun their flight operation for about 2 weeks. The only difficulty I faced was booking the ticket, probably due to very heavy traffic and their system was still very new. After all, no issue at all. And during check in, next to them was FlyScoot. There was a long line. Luckily I went around to check and found out that that was not the queue for MYAirline. Else, I might miss my flight. The rest, everything was great.

How is the seat? I heard many complained that it was hard?
It is definitely not a good one for flights above 3 or 4 hours because the seat is slim. To me, it's not hard, it's still soft to some extent. And also flight time from KL is Kuching is only 1 hour 40 mins, so not a problem to me.

Never mind. At least I remember those good, old times. It was the time when all Malaysians look forward to having more airlines in the industries to compete with the existing one. Regardless of who or which organisation is taking over, how it would turn out for the better or worse, hope for the best. And all employees get the salary they deserve for.

DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS AIRLINE! The airline changed the time of the flight to 6 hours later. The notification was sent via email but I didn't see as it went into the junk mail. But checking the time on the email, it was only sent 4 hours before the flight time, when I would have already set off for the airport.
When I got to the counter, MYairlines stance was they only have two flights a day. I have no idea how this justified changing the flight time which such little notice. Appalling service!!!

You are not comparing the apple to apple. Starlux is a full service airline and MYAirline is a budget airline.

They should. All passengers are sick of rescheduling flight, delay and cancellation, and of course the "credit" account issue. It's good to have more competitions in this industry.

AirAsia’s delay has nothing to do with leasing aircraft. AirAsia still owned a lot of aircrafts which are currently grounded. And I also put it in the description, the info (caption) was mistakenly dispensed. The aircraft was leased from Frontier. Thank.
