- Author, scriptwriter, film critic, Classic FM host and old pal Andrew Collins on his band's tragic support slot with the Higsons, glam-rockers who looked like brickies, the Stone Roses court case, winning a Smash Hits drawing competition, his Alice Cooper posters, what Tony Hancock would make of the modern world and queuing for June Whitfield's autograph.

Loved the detailed info. A great slab of fun. Thank you .🌅
Made me chuckle when they mentioned 'herd mentality' in connection with autographs. Before lockdown there would often be a few guys outside The Mandarin Hotel or The Savoy, Wogan House or wherever, with a pocketful of 4" x 6" blank white cards and a sharpie pen who would request anybody who stepped out of posh taxi for their autograph, they hadn't a clue who they were!
Automatic thumbs up when Andrew Collins is a guest.
Great interview! Where did it all go right? Growing up normal in the 70s by Andrew Collins is one of my favourite feel-good books!
RIP Steve Priest
Saw many a gig at the Five Bells...James, Mighty Lemon Drops, Stump and King Kurt and Age of Chance...and many many more
Another excellent edition! Andrew Collins would appear to be a Steve Martin doppelgänger!
My first experience of pop was also seeing The Sweet playing Blockbuster...great days of glam.
Always a pleasure to have the Marvellous Mr Collins on the show.
He must surely be a candidate alongside Mr Ellen for the Nicest Man in the Music Business Award?
Might I suggest a Frankie Two Tribes style battle to the death to decide the ultimate champion. Post Lockdown of course. We’re not animals ...
Great to see Andrew here.
Priceless. Fantastic. Brilliant. I hope these go on forever. FYI, in New Zealand, the Bovril is next to the jam.Nowhere near the gravy browning.
Such idiosynrasies are what what makes the world go round.
Bloody love the books of Hepworth and Collins. Collins has a permanent smile lol.
It's true. I believe it has hampered my career as a diplomat.
Another interesting interview (makes a note to get the Mitford sisters letters book) and I've still got my copy of Money by The Flying Lizards, and as good as it is the weird dub version on the flip is even better
Excellent Age of Chance mention! 😆🤘
Motorcity was a cracking tune!
My father walked through our living room whilst i was watching Frankie Goes To Hollywood's first appearance on the Tube he just stopped turned to me shook his head and said "WHAT" and left the room.My father was a Methodist minister.
it's just like Footloose.
and of course Mark Ellen.. Great!!
Carl Gustav & the 84s, "I don't want to live with Students"
Third mention of Hull.
I love Hull.
I’m wondering if Ian Brown was out of tune when he took the oath in the dock?
Birdland. Americana star Robert Vincent's old band!
Er..No..Its my old band..we just happen to have the same Name..
@@diablofursPopnRoll I'm surprised the hosts didn't remember them (ie you)! Still think I've got a couple of the singles somewhere, as well as a Zodiac Motel 12" 😀
