The saddest part is that it might be the last time we see the classic Albino version of TW in other media . The current BL and DC Comics have change him to a normal large and fit looking POC. The creator even said he hated the idea of making albino people evil . He has a point. But I alway liked the classics version and Marvin Jones III nailed the role perfectly.
I mean you don’t see a lot of Albino villains in general, and I’m sure anyone who’s albino wouldn’t have an issue with it as I guess it includes their people in media? Idk I think it’s kinda stupid that “he hates making albino people evil” but why’s he paying so much attention to that? Seems to be a type cast thing because he also voiced Tombstone, another Albino villain, in Into The Spiderverse. He only had one line, but he delivered it well. Hope they bring him back for that.

I’m glad BL got rid of TW but I feel like it should have been longer and not “random” in that there just happened to be a large spike outside the building.
I'm guessing that was their version of BL finally catching/harpooning his big, white whale. Which, in turn led to TW quoting Melville's speech to BL before he died from Moby Dick.
I was really hoping for jeff to use "black" lightning to kill off tobias. I honestly thought that's what they were building towards since this season took jeff down a darker and less hopeful path. The ironic part is that the flash episode that came out the same week featured the speedforce being represented by a place engulfed in black lightning. Anyways, This season had so much potential but fell flat in many places. I still consider season 3 one of the best and most underrated seasons of the entire arrorverse hands down
Season 3 is this show best season and to me its final season because the way it ended felt like a finale to the show and had passion and love for the show season 4 I don't know what that was

The first time I saw that scene I thought, What is it with Tobias throwing coffee cups and wine glasses, like that's going to hurt him. This final fight scene was weak and rushed compared to other fight scenes in the show, because it was the series finale.
This scene was missing the '60s batman soundtrack and the BLAM. OOFHH, SHAWAM. POP audio effects. That cheesy. But im happy to have had such a deeply African American representation show for four seasons. Im very happy for that, African Americans need to see themselves in positive roles in all media. Dad, Principal, Doctor, Politicians, Captain, Mobster, etc.
This finale left with so many unanswered questions What's lala next plan? What's going to happen to Ana Lopez? What's people of Freeland going to think of Tobias' death? Who will be the next mayor? What's going to happen to Tobias' gang crew? Will the Pierce family ever know about Khalil losing his memory? So many unanswered questions that we'll never know
I would also add questions about the glaze and the energy entities such as JJ. I also feel like Jen changed from being up there and would love to hear her experience in that. As far as Lala, I feel like he is to be the next Tobias Whale.
Some of those answers to those questions are alil self explanatory but some questions in life are not meant to be answered. That's one of the sad things about life I'm afraid
I think the first thing lala would do is kill Destiny and the lady Eve crew. I would have loved to see it, but I would imagine Ana Lopez, will lose her badge and go prison or get sent to a mental institution so she can get some much-needed therapy. Good question about who will be the next mayor? Maybe Jefferson now that he's been cleared and Tobias has been exposed. Now that he's retired it would be a new way for him to fight for the city without being Black Lightning. After Lala gets rid of Destiny's crew. I think LaLa might become next Tobias of Freeland because he cant die, but unlike Tobias, LaLa actually cares about Freeland in his own way. he's shown that more than once throughout the series,so he could've ended of teaming up with Thunder, Lightning and Wylde sometimes. It would have been nice to see the families reaction to Khalil losing his memory of them, especially Jennifer's but we'll never get to see any of it.
It's not too noticeable, if you focus on him sure there are moment you can tell it's not Black Lightning, but it doesn't take you out of the scene, like let's say... _/!\_ *Arrow* _season 3 spoiler /!\_ . .. ... .. . The first fight between Green Arrow and Ra's al Ghul... I love Matt Nable as Ra's, and the fight looks awesome... until you notice the obvious stunt double for Matt, the dude doesn't even remotely look the same... and since they're fighting shirtless and without masks, it's even more obvious. Ok, after looking it up on IMDB, the stunt double is a French guy named Louis Paquette, and, damn, he's done stunts for a LOT of big productions... Star Wars, X-Men, The Hulk, The Boys, Titans, Umbrella Academy, Taken, Vikings, Hannibal, Supernatural, Smallville, etc etc etc... Good for him.

I stopped watching after season 1 and just tuned back in to see the big fight and man I kept being distracted by how much the Black Lightning used a body double and it was super obvious cause the guy didnt have twists in his hair. They also used him on unneccesary shots like cuts to BL just standing up
1st Season was. They didn’t really use him as they should have. He never got to really explore his power set. Black Lightning is able to do so much more then just fire electricity and fly. He can use black lightning and turn into electricity. They never got to that. Idk it just seemed wasted

Imagine this: • Black Lightning x Thunder x Lightning x Wylde x Khalil x Lala x Gravedigger vs. Tobias Painkiller reprogrammed to be good for himself to help Khalil help Jefferson against Tobias
So satisfying to see Black Lightning and Tobias Whale's rivalry go full circle. I knew when CW announced this was the final season that Black Lightning and Tobias were going to fight to the death in the end; was sad to see it end but so satisfying to watch. Black Lightning and Tobias have become one of my favorite rivalries, right along Batman and The Joker. The two have such a philosophical take in that they are similar in the regards they are dark reflections of one another in several ways. Both were born and raised in the corrupt, racist and crime-ridden city of Freeland and became important figures in the community in an attempt to make a difference in the city. But whereas Black Lightning became a force for good and wanted to stop crime, Tobias became a source of evil and wanted to control crime. Black Lightning didn't want others suffer as he suffered while Tobias wanted others to suffer as he suffered as a form of revenge. Both were heavily influenced by their fathers, which helped shape them in becoming the men they would grow to be. Tobias was brutally abused by his father due to his albinism, becoming angry and bitter towards his father and the world in general. Jefferson on the other hand was raised in love and instilled with morals, so that when his father was murdered by Tobias, he sought to honor his father's memory by helping the people of Freeland. Another similarity is their powers and how they felt about them. Jefferson struggled with his powers and feared that they would make him less human, ruining his chances for a normal life. But he eventually saw his powers as a blessing and came to realize it didn't make him less human. Tobias on the other hand loves how he stays young and strong and sees himself as above everyone else; him being helpless against his father let him wanting to never be helpless again in his life and so he loves how the serum makes him stronger than everyone else. One wants to keep his humanity and be like everyone else, whereas the other wants to lose it and be above everyone else. I didn't know much about Black Lightning before the show, but the CW has made me a fan and hope DC does more with him in the future.
This show was great, great music, and interesting story, I hate to say it but they got a little sloppy here, you can definitely see the stunt double looks different 🤦🏽♂️ and the fights should’ve been a bit more epic but overall every season were pretty solid.
I just finished season one on Netflix. Thought that was the end, then I see this vid half way through I stop and check Netflix again. There's 4 seasons!? I don't no how I missed that. Welp time to keep watching

BL rapid blinking and looking slightly to the left every time he was in a emotionally compromised stood out to me. Let's face facts, their themes really wouldn't have fit well together. Tobias is a grounded realistic albino gang leader, while Reverse Flash is a god complex futuristic typical evil genius. It's like teaming up Kingpin with Kang, just doesn't really work

I stopped watching after season 1 and just tuned back in to see the big fight and man I kept being distracted by how much the Black Lightning used a body double and it was super obvious cause the guy didnt have twists in his hair. They also used him on unneccesary shots like cuts to BL just standing up

1st Season was. They didn’t really use him as they should have. He never got to really explore his power set. Black Lightning is able to do so much more then just fire electricity and fly. He can use black lightning and turn into electricity. They never got to that. Idk it just seemed wasted

So satisfying to see Black Lightning and Tobias Whale's rivalry go full circle. I knew when CW announced this was the final season that Black Lightning and Tobias were going to fight to the death in the end; was sad to see it end but so satisfying to watch.
Black Lightning and Tobias have become one of my favorite rivalries, right along Batman and The Joker. The two have such a philosophical take in that they are similar in the regards they are dark reflections of one another in several ways.
Both were born and raised in the corrupt, racist and crime-ridden city of Freeland and became important figures in the community in an attempt to make a difference in the city. But whereas Black Lightning became a force for good and wanted to stop crime, Tobias became a source of evil and wanted to control crime. Black Lightning didn't want others suffer as he suffered while Tobias wanted others to suffer as he suffered as a form of revenge.
Both were heavily influenced by their fathers, which helped shape them in becoming the men they would grow to be. Tobias was brutally abused by his father due to his albinism, becoming angry and bitter towards his father and the world in general. Jefferson on the other hand was raised in love and instilled with morals, so that when his father was murdered by Tobias, he sought to honor his father's memory by helping the people of Freeland.
Another similarity is their powers and how they felt about them. Jefferson struggled with his powers and feared that they would make him less human, ruining his chances for a normal life. But he eventually saw his powers as a blessing and came to realize it didn't make him less human. Tobias on the other hand loves how he stays young and strong and sees himself as above everyone else; him being helpless against his father let him wanting to never be helpless again in his life and so he loves how the serum makes him stronger than everyone else. One wants to keep his humanity and be like everyone else, whereas the other wants to lose it and be above everyone else.
I didn't know much about Black Lightning before the show, but the CW has made me a fan and hope DC does more with him in the future.

This show was great, great music, and interesting story, I hate to say it but they got a little sloppy here, you can definitely see the stunt double looks different 🤦🏽♂️ and the fights should’ve been a bit more epic but overall every season were pretty solid.

BL rapid blinking and looking slightly to the left every time he was in a emotionally compromised stood out to me. The actor change of lighting just to bring her back when I just got over the change was jarring. I would have liked to see mom become a superhero. There's more I could talk about but I'll save it for da blog. It was definitely a show that was a product of the time,...a bit

Let's face facts, their themes really wouldn't have fit well together. Tobias is a grounded realistic albino gang leader, while Reverse Flash is a god complex futuristic typical evil genius. It's like teaming up Kingpin with Kang, just doesn't really work

His powers were supercharged by the Prometheum that was created when gravedigger used lightning to take down the ASA's perimeter. So my theory is that his electricity radiated the Prometheum supercharging his electrical ability
