You'd be surprised. Have had comments about talking subscribing, mentioning merch, they don't like that I have sponsors. Apparently I'm supposed to do this as a hobby and not try and grow.
I never understand people complaining about creators making a living : I’m happy to see partnership ads, merch and even patreon. This is my free entertainment and passively paying with an ad is fine by me.
What this template does effectively, is measures nose-body misalignment. It does not effectively measure skew. Say you build a perfectly rectangular body, don't violate any of the other body rules, and rotate this perfectly rectangular body about the breather hole in the hood. You will have skewed the body and this template (as well as it's user) will measure zero skew when the body is certainly skewed by whatever amount you rotated it. A better use of this template would be to cut it up and build a rectangle for cars to drive through in the tech line. If any part of the car hits the rectangle, you fail. I was a bystander at AK's car and he suggested this to the user of the jig (whom by the way was unprofessional and abrasive, some might even say reprimandable). If you don't locate the body relative to the wheels (or better yet direction of travel), you can't measure skew. The creator of this jig doesn't understand what it is he's trying to measure. This is a really unfortunate truth as the bodies are way out of hand and something should be done soon.
100%. Same with the 6,8,10 rule for the spoiler and right side. Look at how much skew Moran's right side has even though it is still within the rules. The problem is the rule makers don't really understand what they're doing and are heavily influenced by certain chassis manufacturers that don't want to change what they are currently building.
Kinda funny that it’s Austin Kirkpatrick in the photo for the template. He’s a smart engineer and is always looking for something new and fast in chassis design. Solid front axle got banned cuz of his design…
Tired of the template talk. These aren't production-based cars anyway. If the skewing escalates, so what? Not like the Rocket 1 has anything in common with a Ford Mustang anyway.
Well if that's the case, why don't we just go back wedge bodies and sideboards? Maybe a supermodified top wing with active aero? It's not a production based car so why have any body rules all?
I’m all for straightening out the LM bodies. They’ll find other way to go fast. As long as the playing field is level for everyone the racing will still be great and in my opinion, the costs should stay down somewhat. Great info
LOL, just stop the video early (or hit next in your podcatcher, if listening that way)... I prefer here because I can easily skip the LM & mod stuff... even though I work in IT, I find it hilarious of people complaining about things that boil down to "I don't know how to use all the features of UA-cam"
saw the race on youtube from ohio speedweek last night, yea it was a close one and why we love openwheel racing, my only regret is there werent more guys higher up the food chain racing, that is names I really recognize, and where are all the hoosier's I know they have a few that race with the fast series, I know it mostly ohio and pennsy but I did not see anyone from indiana running, but yea thumbs up on kokomo its not super banked though imagine if it was 14 or 18 degrees :) but its still fast and has that slightly longer windy turn off 2 and has nice stands the food options could be a bit better though as others pointed out and I knoticed at the high limit show, but boy was it packed well. if kokomo ever closes I will shed tears even if I have to lash myself with a rope or belt to get them flowing. but yea I will be sad if it ever does it has the highest paying usac sprint race on the schedual and was the trainning ground for soo many when it had weeklys though I am not sure when they last did.
These late model bodies have gone way too far......i laugh because they come in off the track and series folks are measuring for droop on a car that has bodywork going in about 5 different directions drives down the pit lane like a '75 Nova if some of you oldtimers know what i mean LOL
4:06 @AKRacecars is one of the sharpest guys in the sport, and series officials might do well to work with him (and other racers) on the body stuff to make sure new rules solve actual problems without nasty side effects, like sending racers into an expensive frenzy trying to find gray areas in mysterious new body rules. Nice video as always @DIRTRACKR.
I heard he had a Computer Engineer/Programmer in the pits with him at the Big E this past weekend. I saw some guy on top of the hauler with a laptop all weekend. I don’t know if he’s the smart one or if he’s just surrounding himself with the right people or both.
The track for the Ohio speedweeks last night was not that dusty. You could see the cars no problem. When you can't see the race cars because of the dust then you could complain about the racetrack. Eldora can be so dusty you can't see the cars and when I was there a few years ago a pair of googles would have been a good idea.
You’re doing fine, just remember no one can please everyone. The late models are starting to look ridiculous, it looks like they hit a telephone pole sideways!!
People being people, they'll eff up anything. I think you should do sponsorship plugs, subscribing, and merchandise at the beginning and the end of every show.
Whether they are praising you or bitching to you, at least they are watching. I personally think you do a great job.
Who gets mad at a channel for promoting subscribing?? Literally every channel asks the viewer to subscribe
You'd be surprised. Have had comments about talking subscribing, mentioning merch, they don't like that I have sponsors. Apparently I'm supposed to do this as a hobby and not try and grow.
@@DIRTRACKR that's so wild wtf
@@DIRTRACKR all the youtube channels say that all the time three or more times on their videos subscribe, like, share. That is really annoying.
Lots of idiots with keyboards!

Imagine getting crap for promoting your merch and channel, on your on own UA-cam channel. What a World.
Mentions subscribing and merch without mentioning subscribing and merch. Brilliant.
IT WAS A TRICK
Justin using jedi mind tricks, the force is strong with that one
Wasn't me. That was Josh Amacher who is one of our tech officials with Castrol FloRacing Night in America presented by Kubota
Thanks for the clarification!
These thumbnails are getting pretty hard to not click..
Is it better or worse when that thumbnail has your face on it?

Unfortunately can’t please everybody. Your on point screw em

Good lord what’s next. Are they going to start doing droop checks on a sprint car. Just let these teams race. They will always find ways to go fast.
Its your show. Promote and do whatever u want. Who cares about someones opinion. Dont change a thing
I’m just happy you said Appalachian correctly.🤣 Well done sir well done.👏👏👏
It Often is amazing just how much Rule checking changes hero's to just top 10's, as long as it is universally applied......

Straighten out the Bodies and Address Aero 👍

nothing wrong with trying to make a living,do what you need to do.

The late model bodies are starting to look like the twisted sisters in the early 2000 NASCAR
They started way to early , when the A main started the sun was still beating on the track
Corey Day and Zeb Wise are going to Skagit.

Rules and Tech after Austin Kirkpatrick again…..

They have had the template for the last couple of years.
People being people, they'll eff up anything. I think you should do sponsorship plugs, subscribing, and merchandise at the beginning and the end of every show.
I’m all peopled out🫠🤯😂
