when Jae Suk said "I am sorry that I was too late" ... I started crying ... If you live far away from your hometown ... you can feel the emotinal through this episode
who is she
@@muhammadmirza4278 a lady who was brought to japan for force labor. now they can't take her back to korea because of her health and they can't track her family in korea anymore (if there's any).
@@haleIrwinG I started to cry when I watched this vid then I cried again because you told us her story (my English is bad)

It shows that YJS and Haha have a kind heart. I admit, I cried while watching this. This is the first time I saw them crying. After I watch this, I wonder how's Halmeoni right now. Wish I could visit her but I'm too far. Wishing her a long and healthy life.

*"I don't know if I will die today or tomorrow. But now that I've seen this, I can die at ease."* When Haha brought photos of her hometown in Korea.
i cried so much when haha asked her doesn't she wanted to go back to korea but she said that no one from her family member were at korea since they moved to japan when she was only 8 years old! the fact that she lived there for more than 80 years really made me wanted to cry.
Don’t worry there’s a life after this oppressed people will have a much better life than those in hell because of their deeds.
why cant they bring her home? like together
Can i know what episode is this?
@@ziiysnim671 Ep 444 and 445.
found this after watching Battlefield Island. You can understand the history better after watching the movie.
i can see everyone who doesn't know why they're apologizing and wondering what's happening. So what's happening now is that Haha and Jae Seok went to a island in Japan to deliver Korean food to Koreans living there. The reason they are so sorry is that island is the place where Koreans were forced to work for Japan and many of them died there. Actually, i am Korean and i am so furious about Japan. They are still not apologizing and trying to fix the history.
they cannot come back to korea?
Shannon Ong most of them died before they can visit korea again, some of them are too old to fly even though its quite near
Japan is fucked up at my country too
But dont blame all japanese tho,i believe some of them is wishing for them to go back and free.
Pfff fixing history? How? There is no such thing. All they can do repent the action their ancestors did. People all at that time at war. All they care is protect themselves. You want to blame them? Blame who ignite the war. We live in peace from war, ofc we can't understand their hardship. We can reasonable because our environment.
Do you expect japan send their people to forced in labour in korea as well? And do you think money gonna solve it? Japan already apologized for the actions. So stop keep pulling the topic up. Yes i feel sympathy towards the victim. But what i can do? It already affected them.
All we can do is preventing this happen again.

I've never seen jae suk cry in running man😢
He also cry in family outing
It's the first time I've seen Jaeseok cry, and the first time I've seen Haha cry like this... (I've seen Haha cry a bit during some RM episodes, but not like this)
This needs Japanese subtitles cause they should realize the fact that they separated the families in korea forced them to go japan and let them suffer ..

after reading some comments, i finally know the reason behind the crying. Actually, in our country too, Philippines, a lot of grandmas are still affected by what Japan did during the war. They are alive but there are still a big part of their lives that they can't forget. The bad memories are still fresh like it only happened yesterday. I hope there's no war to come forever. Not just in our country, in korea, in asia. But in the whole world. I dream for a world peace.
In malaysia too.
Indonesia too
In Singapore too
Same. My family and i love japanese food, but my grandma refuses to eat it because she still remembers how cruel war-time japanese soldiers were. Her stories haunt me and makes my heart ache
That grandma is Japanese military sexual slavery victims After the war, she could not come back to Korea and lived in Japan and lived in pain all her life But before, the members of Muhandojeon visited her to comfort her and cried because they were so saddened by unimaginable pain.
This episode is one of my favorite episodes so I can realize many things again.😥😥😥

I remember this episode I really did cried specially how she told her story and saying she wants to go back to Korea but problem is she doesn't recognized the place already. The people she used to know are all gone that is why they are crying. That they are late and she can't even fly to go and visit Korea due to her age

This vid posted 5 years ago and here i am crying so hard 😔
thinking about the trauma she faced as a young person and having to live in the same place as the country that hurt you must have been so painful and knowing how horrible the war was and how the army treated the women they took makes my heart ache for them
Heart wrenching. For those who don't know, the Japanese occupied much of Korea (plus, many other Asian countries) during World War II; destroying both the Korean monarchy (the assassination of Queen Min/Empress Myeongseong) and cultural heritage of the Korean people. They enslaved many Koreans and pushed them into forced labor. It wasn't until after the bombing of Hiroshima in 1945, where the Japanese surrendered its occupation of the country; dividing the country into South Korea (where the American troops landed), and North Korea (where the Soviet Union army and Korean communists resided). To this day, many Koreans despise Japan (Korean friend of mine reminded me of this).
Philippine also was invaded by japanese...
+Shelly Valerie L. It's sad, but the Japanese created a dark, dark history for many Asian countries. I'm Thai and we still think about what happened at the River Kwai (bridge). Not only were imprisoned POW's used as forced labor to build the bridge, but also conscripted (some forced, some not) native Thais.
That's a good reminder for this generation; to learn from our history and love, not hate.
+Nicole Nim It's understandable Nicole. They did some horrendous things that some find really difficult to forgive.
yeah so japan did to indonesia. and not so far from those big bom exploded, indonesia did our proklamation. those bom gave us change to proklamed our freedom

"You must never steal from others..." How I wish those Japanese heard this. No matter how develop your country is, you will NEVER ERASE THE SCARS THAT YOUR ANCESTORS MADE. NO ONE EVEN APOLOGIZES, ALL YOU DID WAS TO CHANGE YOUR HISTORY. BUNCH OF --
But that was the past. Not all Japanese are like that anymore. The government is at fault for not apologizing to it. Well humans are messed up so that will never happen
And the death march in the Philippines... they keep on erasing it to their history.
Korea should also know they have war crimes to
I cry more when I think what Japanese did to my ancestors when they invaded Malaysia. You guys can't imagine the pain, suffering, death of your beloved ones. In this case, at least she still alive...

I watched this episode 6 years ago, I cried a lot then. I couldn't imagine how painful and lonely it has been. Not to mention I haven't seen Yoo Jae Suk cried this much. He's the type to keep his composure in situations like this. I watched it again today, and I felt worse. I wonder how she is now along with other Koreans who were stuck there. 😔
These grandmothers and grandfathers were forced to move from Korea to Japan when Korea was a colony of Japan by the Japanese government in order to make them do the laboring works. For 70 years they settled in region called Utoro where there is still to these days no water transporting system. Utoro is working on reconstruction and all these grandmothers and grandfathers, who were forced to come there, are left without place to go. Shows how Japan during WWII took advantage of Koreans and still to these days have no shame in leaving these suffered people to suffer more.
Crazy Woo if only the korean govt send helicopters and help them get out of there
Ri I don’t study korean history or follow up with current political relationship so yes I don’t know wether the south korea has already tried to send help. I just feel like they could do something about the people living there.
yeah and if you always try to look at the negative hypothetical questions, you won’t get anything done. it’s just excuses
What many thought to be a filler series in between the last Infinite Challenge Music Festival, turned out to be the most tear jerking series. RIP MuDo you are forever the best korean variety show that ever existed.

I can still remember when I was a child, my grandma would always scold me if I am not home before night time because she said we might get kidnap by japanese.. When I did not visit her for some time (because I was in vacation far away) she thought I was sold already to japanese. My grandma was a survivor of WWII and had a bad experienced with the Japanese.. And that even at an old age, she still remembers the pain and fear caused by them. I always cried every time my grandma would tell her stories 😭 I am from the Philippines.

It’s been 8 yrs but i still cry whenever i watch this part. Grandma has been through a lot, i cant imagine being taken from my country only to suffer in some place that i don’t have anyone by my side.
I started crying when Grandma began singing. Reminded me of my grandmother back in the Philippines, she was also lived in a hardship during Japanese invasion in Luzon.
정말 예능보면서 처음부터 끝까지 울었던 적은 처음이다. ㅠ
it seem that she has cried and suffer so much in her early life that she can't shed anymore tears (or maybe she did teared up a little) , she seems calm while the other two was crying their hearts out. i wonder what kind of hardships she and family has gone through. i dont think its something bearable even if we were to think about it. i know its impossible and it hurts me that i can't do anything to help but i hope that things will better for her and her family wherever there are.
This is Pachinko novel and drama is all about. Those diasporic Korean to Japan way back 1930s during the Japanese occupation in Korea is the themed of this ep of IC. Way before the novel Pachinco has been created, IC had been the proponent of reaching out to diasporic Korean in Japan.
thank you so much to the fans for entering the subtitles in this video. without the subtitles I wouldn't understand the pain and sorrow behind those tears
This situation make me remember my memories with my late grandmother. She really love to give me advice and comfort me when i cry and facing problems. Great job to jae suk and haha. You guys show to us that the effect was still there😭. Thank you

I just finished watching this episode and It's already 1 am and I'm here in the corner of our bed crying really hard I just can't control my feelings cause it's so heartbreaking especially when they need to say goodbye to Halmeoni 💔💔😭😭
I love Haha in Running Man but after watching him here I love him 10000000x He treated the halmeoni really well that's my the halmeoni get attached to him same way as Haha
I'm deeply guilty about this one. I'm half Japanese, and sorry to say I am NOT happy about that. I am NEVER proud. The history itself is the reason behind. People says it's all in the past. Yeah sure it was, but that's the point. Past will never change. The fact that they raped, they killed and everything DISGUST me. I'm crying upon this video. I'm so sorry this nation seems not to see the value of life before because they wanted to live in pure pleasure and superiority. I can't even explain what I felt for this video. I'm so sad and mad, I can't even comprehend what words should I choose to explain what I'm feeling. When the grandmother mentioned she can die at ease made my heart ache because I value life so much and I feel sorry I wanted to hug her but what can I do I have a blood of Japanese who once tortured and brought them in vain? All I could say is sorry. I don't know what to say anymore. I'm sorry.
what makes thing worse is that, Japanese did all those to us, SEA, it hurts so much.
jikookbooty I think it's great that you have sympathy, which is the basic that makes human so loveable.
jikookbooty Why would you apologize for something you didn't do? It's not your fault
Obviously due to guilt. Germans have a huge amount of guilt so much they are very ashamed and angry of their nazi past.
I am Vietnamese-American born in a younger generation, and embarrassed to say I don’t know anything behind the history of my ethnicity. But I have mention you’re empathy puts my mind at ease knowing there are still good people out there. Although, you had nothing to do with it and you can’t change the history your blood has, I think it’s great you’re apologizing for it because I’m sure it gives some people a peace of mind knowing that you carry that piece of history with you and it won’t be forgotten what happened to those people of the past.
I don't watch IC but it took me 2 minutes to cry my eyes out
Not only korea. Malaysia also one of the Asian country that affected. Our ancestors were force to do everything and the soldiers even cut people's head off when they didn't obey.
Seeing this makes me cry. I miss my grandma so much. I have not seen her in 8months already.
one of my japanese friend watched this and she said "as japanese, i am emberass(sorry for my spelling and grammar)" she also said japanese people are really nice and caring especially the elders. Since she doesn't have google account, she wanted me to message to koreans out there that she is very sorry and she hope goverment will apologize to people who they harm and accept their mistake
thai quan don't worry most Koreans know this and many Koreans hate the government not the people. I went to Japan this Summer and had a lot of fun in Osaka. Many people paid for my drinks and we talked to each other in Korean because some of them took Korean language class. We drank together in the bars and I will always remember the fun and kindness from these strangers from Osaka
That's great she's aware but most Korean people don't want a average Japanese girl that had nothing to do with war crimes to feel sorry. We just want the Japanese government to stop denying history and own up to their crimes.
Everyone deserve forgiveness. As a Filipino we are also hurt by what Japanese did to us.
i already watch the whole episode..very sad...i cannot stop my tears...well done Ha Ha...

they come to the archipelago (malaya, borneo, indonesia, singapore) with the slogan 'asia for asians,. The main reason why locals didnt put much resistance and some welcomed them as liberators. And god we were wrong. Out of the pan into the fire we all go. The chinese communities suffered the most (im no chinese). Never pity them for hiroshima and nagasaki. And now my uncle married a japanese lady. What a time to be alive....
During WW2 the Japanese troop did evaded many Asian countries and the sufferings and damage they brought to the countries are beyond condemnation. However some of the comments here are very hostile and I don't think it should be that way.
All is to say is that,
"History can be forgiven, but never forgotten."
Not when the victims of historical tragedies are still alive and are still being victimized to this day.
How can this part of history be forgiven if the wrongdoers hasn’t even asked for forgiveness till today

not just Koreans, but Indonesians during the World War II were also suffered by the Japanese. I don't say the other countries that ever took over Indonesia before them were much better, but at least they undirectly built Indonesians in every sectors like education, public government, etc. But Japanese didn't do that. They just gave scars to our history by their mass rapes and Romusha (force work). Really thankful for those boms in Nagasaki and Hiroshima in 1945. You're not alone, Koreans. I'm wondering why the Koreans very sensitive about pro-Japanese and now I understand your thoughts.

Is that how religion works?

What episode is this
This is a reason why I dont want to embrace Japan in my heart. Im satisfied with appreciating animate and all those creative supplies they come up with,, never gonna love Japan tho. My great grandparents went through the same thing
Edit June 2021:
Dayum hi folks, five years later I appear again because actually checked my notifications :D. Like the amount of time that passed, I was able to think more upon my intuition regarding what my ancestors and our people went through. I’m glad some of the comments understood my comment for what it was!
Yes, it’s about the Japanese government (,as Fargo said: some right wings,) and the history that isn’t quite resolved. No, it’s not about the Japanese people. As for culture, consuming it in a way means supporting the country’s economy which gives power to the government. So personally I try to support Korean businesses more than Japanese, for example. I’d think it’s not too different than any other person, though. Go local yay
And I believe artists’ works should be appreciated free of governmental strife between states (unless the works are about it, etc). How can someone hate on beautiful stories, right? But again, if I consume Japanese culture, personally it’d mean that I’m also consuming just as much Korean culture if not more. (+ learning about and reclaiming Korean culture that was lost)
P.S. It’s kind of irrelevant for people who’re... irrelevant to chime in and accuse those who were hurt of ‘hating’. This is a traumatizing issue for many that we’re talking about, and the relationship between the abuser and the abused is never so simple. Nobody can compensate my people for their pain and lost childhoods, lives, culture, identity, and more. Very few direct victims of that time are alive, and they are yet to receive an actual official apology. In order for this ‘history’ to not be forgotten, youth need to be educated and speak about it. If you understood the context behind my two-sentenced comment and have done some research, you wouldn’t sound so ignorant, dear some comments.
Have a nice day everyone!
+Cecilia Jeong so are you going to hate Japan + Japanese people or just Japan?
+bashy just japan and its ruling gov. also right wings.
+Cecilia Jeong that's like saying you're gonnna hate german because of hitler, or hate black people b/c they steal and commit crimes. It's very ignorant and a stupid thing to say.
+randomskillz01 (From what I found, info may be out dated... Just trying to help?) One of the reasons might be because Germany (and other countries) has apologized many many times since the Holocaust and seems to really be repenting it. They admitted their guilt and returned many of the things that were stolen during WW2. Many museums have been opened acknowledging the bad acts and they have also come up with different ways to raise awareness to keep anything like that from happening again. They have provided compensation to victims too. While Japan don't seem as repentant and they seem to refuse to acknowledge the atrocities they did. Of course they apologized and educate schools so it doesn't happen again but they don't seem as honest as other countries, their apologies are a bit vague (Don't really know how to put this xD English... Not my first language...) and they haven't provided as much compensation and to some not all. From what I found out, Japanese people seem apologetic but the Government refuses to admit many of their wrong doings. Reason to not apologize may partly be for the reluctance of forgiveness from some countries though... Hope I didn't say nonsense?
Kim Haneul no; it's okay. Only idiots compare eastern europe - germany to korea+china+SEA -japan. Japan has never properlly apologized, and continues to screw history by writing fabrications in their school textbooks and denying historical war crimes and applauding their war criminals. Truly a savage and barbaric country once down to it's ruling people.
This made me Cry And I don't Get emotional Easily but this...😭

Malaysia also one of the victims that being occupied by Japanese. We were so little that we lost the battle, we lost the land, by lot. We lost almost everything, we became like exactly like Korean ( except the part that being migrated to their country ) but our ancestors have a very strong heart that they'll fought till the end of their life. We hear you guys, and sorry that we are not able to help at that time.
Except many of the malay rulers and supported the japanese. The suffering was endured by the chinese in malaysia while the malays(mostly) just stood by and watched.
