This could be interesting. I love Marmite more than Vegemite however you can never put enough of either of them on anything. In saying that I am someone that can eat Marmite literally by the spoonful. Spoon in jar, scoop, eat. 😆

But I used to eat Vegemite every day it so sad. But I would still try one anyway
My order with a bag of these came in today. Haven't opened them, currently in my sci-fi bag, and I wanna save my Aussie-Scotch for last. Will come back when I do open it. I am expecting something reminiscent of the time Cadbury did the Vegemite Caramello.
Okay, so I opened it aaand... the candy is really, really strong. Like risking heartburn strong, since I have heartburn issues with sweet things. Usually candy I can handle as long I am not eating it with a sweet drink alongside, but there are a few foods that trigger it, like grapes, which fresh can be really strong, both in sweetness and fruit acids. I am not saying they are bad, I am only saying I am sensitive to them.
Here in the Netherlands we have marmite (sorry😅) an I like to mix dark chocolat paste (a breakfast paste to put on your slice of bread) with some marmite. Or I do marmite with dark chocolat sprinkles. I started with it when I was 10 so I eat it for 34 years now. ;-)
its dropbear tears, they have a whole room full of dropbears in the back that they tickle until they cry then they harvest said tears and turn them into delicious lollies 👍
Wanted to grab some bags to try but it's $15 to ship $11 of lollies to QLD 😭 maybe if I end up with a reason for a bigger order, Aus shipping is a real bugger
They don’t sell it in Massachusetts…there is some specialty Asian stores that might have it, but it’s usually expired. Is it still good after the expiration date?
It would be hard to say if you'd still be able to eat it. I'd go on the safe side as you don't know how it's been stored. It is high in salt and most people in Australia store theirs in a cupboard, it can be stored in the fridge. If you do manage to get some start of slow. Toast with butter or margarine on with a smear of Vegimite on. Toast, Vegimite and cheese works well. And you can use it as a flavouring in soups. And you may become a 🎵🎶 Happy Little Vegemite As Bright as Bright Can be ....🎶🎵
Its definitely fine as long as it hasnt been opened. The only time vegemite or marmite "goes off" is if its been opened and cross contaminated and the contaminants start to mould.
To answer the question as to why its called vegemite. Marmite was created 1st in NZ. The Aussies decided to copy us but added vegetable extract to their version. Originally vegemite was sold under the name Pawhil as a clever joke on Ma might but Pa will. It didnt sell well so they rebranded and changed the name to vegemite.
The veteran Marmite is Sanitarium, which is an Australian company, but Vegemite has the monopoly on beer yeast, so Marmite is manufactured in NZ, and thus is the dominant there. It annoys my Mum that one can only buy tiny jars of Marmite here, because we are a Sanitarium household.
That was really rude. She was speaking and he just cut her off railroaded right over top of what she was saying didn’t give a shit about the fact that he just cut her off. What a rude C.
When my kids repeatedly asked for the same thing I was more and more reluctant to grant their request. Ask once. Be patient. Remember you are NOT the only one with a request. You are NOT the center of their universe.

Tamarind might work well with Vegemite. Tamarind and salt go very well together.

Vegemite pizza was okay, not as good as a cheesymite scroll tho
I looove cheesymite scrolls, whack them in airfryer for 5mins and yummo @@Stickylollies
If the Vegemite chocolate was from when Cadbury did Vegemite Caramello, that was really good.

If you want these lollies to be ANZAC themed then you could call the butterscotch Hokey Pokey like the kiwis do.
Or anzac biccies
Hokey Pokey is honey, and I'd say do a golden syrup and coconut flavour for ANZAC.
