- This is the process of making a small copper bowl from a flat square sheet - forming, shaping, hammering, detailing edges. Once a bowl is complete, I fuse it with glass to create my enamelware home goods collection. You can see the finished pieces here: www.catherineg...
I love the Die you have for the final shaping. Probably comes in handy with the gauge you're using. I might have to adopt some of your techniques cause it looks like you have this process dialed in! Nice job!! Good video too!
Thank you! You can get the large daps from jewelry tool suppliers. Let me know if you try out the technique... it's a fun process.
Lovely
Thank you Judy!
That’s cool. What do you call the thing you are pounding into to shape these?
Linda it's called a dapping block. This happens to be a very large one. Fun to use!
Very good ☺️☺️
Thanks for the visit
Where did you get your swege and mushroom tool?
Good question! I don't remember exactly where I got this one. But I believe Otto Frie carries the big ones. Or Rio Grande, both reputable jewelry supply companies.
Nice 😊
Thank you!
What’s that tool you use that’s like a done with a cover to make the curve?
It's a large dapping block set
@@CatherineGrisez I didn’t see your reply until now. Thank you!
Thank you. Where did you get it?
I've had it for ages and can't remember but it was likely either Otto Frei or Rio Grande. Any jewelry tool supplier will have the small dapping blocks - you want to look for the extra large one. It's reversible with a different size bowl form on either side. Hope that helps!
Where can I find a forming tool like that?
The large dapping block set is available from jewelry tool suppliers. I think I got mine at Otto Frei
