Thank you, Rasch Family, for allowing us a glimpse behind the magic curtain of your stop motion animation genius! Your work is always inspiring and these behind-the-scenes peeks are masterclasses in themselves. Thank you all for keeping this amazing art and craft alive!
As always, it is a TOTAL blast to witness your creative genius, as individuals AND as a family-team..! Your work stands head and shoulders above the rest of the Universe..! I’m SO happy to hear that Mattel has actually been in contact with you, and if they have ANY sense of business, at all, they will hire you to do motu-short stories, maybe animate some of the vintage mini-comics, and, in general, just keep motu fans, old and new, happy with your INCREDIBLE work..! As I’ve said before, with all the new motu media out there, right now, Revelation and the CGI show, your motu- shorts are the GREATEST in the Universe..! Thank you, for creating priceless, timeless and peerless magic..!
This takes me back to the days when I was a rabid animator and having fun pushing puppets. OUTSTANDING work and a real inspiration. I was never able to do much stop-motion during my years in Hollywood but I never lost my passion for the technique. BRAVO!!!!!!
@@JustinRaschAnimation - so, besides being a world-class animator you have GREAT taste in books???!!! If you like it one tenth as much as I enjoy your work, then I will be very pleased. FYI, I am deep into the next book, PUSHING PUPPETS: WHEN STOP-MOTION RULED THE EARTH.
The planning, the organization, attention to detail and the love of the execution! A great informative video that showcases your process and passion. Inspiring fuel for any stop motion animator. Thank you, please keep these coming in any capacity.
Thank you so much for this knowledge share on how your short was put together. Your family is so talented. I just find you very talented and the way you explain the details is greatly appreciated by someone who dabbles in stop motion. Keep up the fun mate 👌😎👍
Brilliant. Stop motion is my favourite type of animation mainly because of it’s tactile nature and the fact i never grew out of loving toys. To be able to play and end up with a movie at the end of it is great
Finally checking this out after hours of nonstop animating myself haha. The work ethic shown is outstanding! You all are so skilled and talented at what you do as it's very inspiring. From the storyboarding, storytelling, the dioramas, lighting, artwork, setups, animation, everything was handled so amazingly well!
This is absolutely awesome!!!!!!! Such a master of animation!!!!! We are printing your interview for the next issue of Mundo Masters 11!!!! Obviously we will send to you a physical copy!!!!!!
Wow. That's so incredibly cool. I also do stop motion, but with bricks and not at such a high level. 😊 But I can learn a lot from you. Thanks for that!👍
Amazing work as always Justin and family, what software did your daughter use to story board the film? thanks for sharing and look forward to the next short film ;0)
Amazing Justin,, that what really interesting to watch the making.. this mocco slider, is this how you program the moves into DF.. the whole character interaction issues you spoke about, yeah that sounds like a complete nightmare, it's bad enough when something goes wrong with one puppet, but I can only imagine at this time how testing that must be to get them all physically to perform off one another, like you said everytime you move something it effects the other.. omg, that's hard to work.. did Shel use real leaves from the forrest.. because I know the leaves only last so long before they wither, is that the word, they die, so they lose their shape, size, look, I tried it on something, and I didn't realise, and it spoilt my shot.. so how did you get around this issues... it's a lot of work to build that set.. I think that's where most of the time and work is spent in prepping the shot, build the set, puppets, etc.. I'm realising that now, building my puppets, alot of work to do before you even begin, but it's all important, one thing affects the other, I wish I was there working with Shel, I could learn so much from her, she's very resourceful, skilled, talented, and yeah it must be really challenging with all the rigging issues, especially on using pre-made figures likes these.. learning more and more about puppet making, I realise RIGGING is key to so many things.. the way you design your puppet, you have to really consider rigging and how that will play out.. I'm still running blind, but I'm trying to take into account as I learn... the motion is amazing, you always blow my mind with your fluid moves, timing, spacing, it's all such a mystery to me, I hope I get to learn how you personally do this on your course.. so I can learn how to improve my own moves.. if that's allowed lol.. ;) anyways, your shots are awesome.. you make it look so simple, and easy, you remind me to, I use to watch He-man and I forgot alot of it.. it's pretty cool... 👍👏🏻😊
Thanks man.... no... fake leaves. Real ones will move and ruin a shot. Shel is an amazing stop mo partner for sure . Yeah... we will work on getting you smoother moves in class for sure.
That’s awesome your set up! Your stop motion is another level! I know you mentioned what you used but where did you find the figure rig and slider? Subbed your channel. Please do more 😀
Do you recommend using NECA action figures for stop motion? Seeing this awesome film about action figures got me thinking about buying a Wolf Man 1941 NECA figure. P.S. How could I contact Nick Hilligoss? If he preffers not to be contacted then no problem Thanks so much and just want to say you are by far my favorite stop motion animator, because you treat your subscribers really well and is kind. Thanks!
i have not used the neca figures yet...but i see good stuff being created with them. Nick is on both youtube? and facebook....i met him on stopmotionanimation.com in the message boards. He is a super cool guy. shoot him a message.
